I decided to unroot my note 3 so i could update to kitkat. I used supersu to unroot and then went to accept the ota, it failed.i then did a factory reset but safestrap still showed up. My next step was to do another factory reset and now its stuck on the galaxy note 3 boot screen with the custom logo. I tried flashing the mj5 files to it and it passed but after factory reset and a wipe it still locks on the boot screen. Any help would be great.

If you can get into download mode (home + power + vol down) you can just follow the steps listed in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559715
You will definitely need an external SD Card and will need to follow the instructions exactly. It works like a charm. Once you are done you will be back on MJ5 and can OTA update to KitKat or continue using MJ5.

You don't have to have an SD card; you can hold volume up and go to recovery mode, go down to update via ADB, and sideload&install the .zip files instead of an SD. (I had to do this last night from a soft brick)

Think I managed to mess my system up a bit. I can get into clockwork but when I flash any roms it seems to freeze up. Can someone point me in the direction to flash back to stock from clockwork so I can start completely over. Ive been looking around but cant seem to find the files and guide. Thanks

Seems like you lost root..
- Flash a pre rooted GB ROM from THIS thread, let's say LC1
- Go to the 4th post of ChainFire's thread and get the CF Root kernel for it (so you can have CWM + root) and flash it using the "always rooted.bat" method described in 2nd post
This way you'll have LC1 ROM with root and CWM recovery installed
Damn Im still stuck. Tried flashing a couple suggestions but odin fails. Anyone willing to walk me through a full restore to stock? Would be greatly appreciated!
Think I got lucky and figured it out. Hard a hard time finding the stock rom but got it done. Phone is updating as i type this.
You didn't actually post how you fixed your problem.
I ran into problems when reverting to stock GB from custom ICS. Flashing with Odin went fine but I got stuck in a boot loop.
I eventually managed to sort it by holding vol up, power and home buttons on boot to go into stock recovery mode, then did a wipe / factory default reset. When I rebooted it all fired up fine.
Just posting in case it helps anyone else.

If you get stuck at boot animation after flashing a stock Rom, just do a simple factory reset from stock recovery, that is all that is needed.

An easy way out to dis all iz ... if u mess'd up ... try booting into to recovery and flash the same rom over ... with out any wipes
update wouldnt install the stock way so decided to force it with odin first it just failed in odin on the last step, so i found the cf auto root method ran that and now i cant even get back to download mode help!!! thanks.
edit was able to get back into download mode figured out i was pressing the button the wrong way. anyway tried reflashing the 4.1.2 build i found and after flashing it says "fail" at the modem stage, so i restarted download mode and flashed the cf auto root again, it started to "update apps for 4.1.2" and kept rebooting itself where it left off, now when booting it said "starting apps" and just reboot again and now just keeps rebooting.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have you done a reset since flashing?

What kind of reset? (cant factory reset dont have a recovery to do that with) i've tried taking battery out and putting it back in and it just boot loops after installing the cf autoroot file. so i than tried flashing the 4.1.2 file and it fails again, like a vicious cycle. downloading the stock image now i just want the camera to boot again i shouldnt have bothered with the update lol.
edit: installed stock image get same fail message at modem part, so ran the cf autoroot again it than restarted and "upgraded" all the apps went all the way through this to to finishing boot and now is boot looping again!!!!!!!!!! errrrrr i should have never even bothered with all this.
don't you have at least a stock recovery?
holding zoom+ while turning on my galaxy camera boots it into a simple recovery mode.
4th option is "wipe data/factory reset"
the stock recovery doesn't have as much options as cwm or twrp, but it's enough for a reset.
for recovery or download mode you always have to power down your camera completely, if quick startup is enabled it goes into standby instead so you may have to pull the battery first.

Thanks so much worked at least it boots now i think ill just stick with 4.1.1 and a working device thanks for all your help.
I had Note 3 safestrap installed.
Factory wiped and I flashed PureRom Ce over S5 experience rom on kit kit 4.4 and reboot.
The note 3 will not start into boot logo but appears as Galaxy note 3 with unlocked icon and nothing else. Tried to boot me to recovery it did take me to stock recovery. I hit factory reset and cache and problem still the same.
Any ideas? if problem do not solved, all I do to hit up odin to flash new firmware?

Seems like you formatted sd in ss, did you reboot normally or you pressed vol up menu and power? Try to reboot, if ss doesn't show up you may have to revert to mj5.

You are right, I formatted it by pc. I thought everything had covered. The ss I had was installed but recovery did not "recovery not active" someone claimed it was bug. So I rebooted got ss then flashed purerom on kk, and this was happening right after reboot. I gonna have to look in thread about mj5 you mentioned. Download mode working fine and stock recovery working fine. Ugh I need to get home and have this fixed. I'm at work stuck with boot looping note 3. Hope to get this fixed tonight.

"Recovery not active" means you are using the stock slot. Yeah just follow the steps in the mj5 restore done that numerous times and it always brought me back. Hope you get that note 3 firing again.
Thanks I got my note 3 back to life using mj5 restore. Problem solved.

Hey im in need of some desperate help, so In safestrap i activated one of the rom slots and left alone the stock rom slot, after i created and activated a rom slot, i intalled lollipop rooted from Walter White, then now i've been stuck on "Samsung GALAXY Note 3" logo withiout the lock at the bottom for the past hour, how do i get back in to safestrap?!! need to go back to stock rom! please help!
I've been using Moar rom on my Sprint Note5 for like a year. My phone has been fine until last night I had it charging and woke up to it in a boot loop.
I can only go into download mode and not recovery.
What are my options? My main concern is getting all of my pictures off.
Thanks
Just go back to stock with Odin. It will not erase anything on your phone. You can get all your photos off your phone then factory reset and root again. Just make sure repartition is not checked before you run Odin.

Did that, it did not work. Still a boot-loop. Has anyone else been on the same boat as me?
This is my backup phone so I don't care for the data that is on it and just want it working again. It was rooted before and I needed it unrooted in order to download an app that was blocked by root detection. I tried uninstalling the root using Super SU in its settings, when I restarted my phone it just freezes at the AT&T white screen.
I'm still able to go into the boot recovery menu, I tried putting on the I537UCUCOC7 (5.0.1) firmware found here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2629093). I downloaded it, extracted the zip, and renamed the file "update.zip" and put the file on a microSD then in the recovery boot menu I went to install from external and selected the update.zip. It sorta kinda looked like it accepted it but I get a red error message about the sideloader and I'm still stuck at the white screen when it boots.
What else can I do from here?
P.S. I already tried wiping the cache and data/factory restore options and that didnt work.
Is there anything else that can be done?
I restored my phone to 4.4.2. How can I install 5.0.1? When I search for software updates it says theres nothing available even though I know it can go to 5.0.1 cause thats what I had before it bricked.
Please share how did you restore when I only able to boot into recovery and clearing cache and factory reset does not help. Phone just stack on boot loop
