I wanted to Root the phone so did everything I was asked and added RomManager.
Tried to install : One_4.06.1540.2_odexed and now ended up in boot loop as I get failed with error code 7.
I downloaded RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_4.19.1540.9_Radio_4A.23.3263.28_10.38r.1157.04L_release_353887_signed_3
This gets to reboot phone to HTC logo then I get an error saying incorrect rom.
Can someone help me please as ive been reading all afternoon but not sure what to look for.
Cheers
Nick

you tried to back to stock/latest ROM, your CID HTC__001 and MID PN0710000
i think you need to install World Wide English 4.19.401.9 ROM if you really need to back to stock, give it try, then search for OTA updates (Sittings>About>software update) to get 4.19.401.11 latest
be sure your bootloader is LOCKED or RE-LOCKED
this is my suggest , or you can wait for developers

Why are you trying to install a Brightstar rom and RUU,
You have the international M7_ul
You can use 3.62.401.1 guru reset rom from here
http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/
Or you can install a custom rom such as ARHD
Make sure you have TWRP 2.6.3.3 or better installed
You cannot install a RUU that is not meant for your phone with S-On. It has to be same version or higher.

you can just copy it from your pc when you boot your device or boot into fastboot and use adb
http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/2013/12/how-to-copy-rom-zip.html

Following the instructions I have managed to get the ARHD rom installed and running. Would it be simple to revert back to a stock rom or is that going to cause more problems.
Cheers
Nick

It's fairly simple but more people get into trouble trying to return to stock than trying to root their phones.
Follow this guide precisely in the correct order.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
Providing your on the 3.62.401.1 still.
Here is the guru reset for it.. read the guide carefully

[Solved] S-off with hboot 1.55 issues, need help.

I cannot seem to get s-off with rumrunner. I'm rooted on hboot 1.55. I've tried on xp and Windows 8 on a few different pc's to no avail. I last followed a guide and did it on a live Ubuntu USB as my laptop runs the 64bit distribution. I get to a line that says "sanitizing, skunky rum" and then says wait. Then periods fill across the line and it sits for a while. Then several T's are displayed and the command prompt comes back up. S is not off.
I'm at a loss here. Anyone have any ideas? I've read pretty exhaustively and I'm not finding any solution.
Thanks.

I tried that. That resulted in the line of T's and did not give me s-off.

Could be because you ran it on 64bit and it's stated on rumrunner 's site and in step one of my instructions to use a 32bit version. For some reason 64bit isn't supported. You don't have to install it just throw it on a disk and boot into the "try" mode.
Anyways, good luck

No, I ran it on a live USB with a 32 bit distribution after I realized my mistake when it failed on my 64 bit. I tried the process 3 times on the the 32 bit all with the same result before I gave up and asked for help.

what's your "version-main"? or even better post a "fastboot getvar all" (excluding IMEI and s/n)

That sucks... The only other suggestion is something I was just informed of but didn't have to do myself.
In Ubuntu they had to open the Ubuntu software Centre, edit tab, software sources and make sure that "supported free and open source software" is selected.
Sorry wish I had more ideas

from rumrunner: "as long as you have root) and also custom roms. We DO prefer users have an unsecure kernel", so try ARHD 31.6 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023 (it's already rooted & unsecured kernel)
though I have to mention that other T-Mobile users are having issues, but usually on firmware 3.63.111.x
Good luck

So I'm sure I'm reading this right: I don't need a custom ROM, correct? Its not listed as a prerequisite on the rumrunner site, just root. I could perhaps just flash an unsecure kernel over my stock rom?
Thanks, btw
@nkk71 for the win...the kernel was going to be my next suggestion. After doing some googling lol
Hope it works. If anyone can helps its nkk71

yes you could try it that way (ie flash custom kernel), but why not go for ARHD 31.6? it's already rooted, unsecured kernel, has USB debugging enabled, has Power->Fast boot disabled (I think), has adb shell su already granted.
if it's just about not wanting to erase apps+data+settings, then just do a nandroid of your current setup, flash ARHD 31.6, get S-Off (hopefully) and restore nandroid afterwards.
I just picked up a new ONE after returning it for the camera colors in dark light (had it for 3-4 months HBOOT 1.44)
this new one is on HBOOT 1.55 to use rumrunner I had to:
1) HTC DEV unlock
2) flash custom recovery
3) install CM 10.2 (the final release works best CM 11 did not work)
4) flash SU zip
5) run rumrunner
With this process it had to pour less than with hboot 1.44 and cm 10.2. went pretty quickly if you have done it before. But the kernel is almost definitely the problem.
have faith it can be done

I relocked it and tried to use a RUU.exe and .zip but both didnt work. Getting errors like "12 signature verify fail"
I flashed a firmware, but the only thing is that the htc logo is shown and it ends in a bootloop (guess because no system is on the phone)
my S-ON is active, do i have to turn it to S-OFF? How can I do it if I can only enter the fastboot mode (adb doesnt work).

You have to flash the firmware.zip file first if you haven't flashed it.
It contains new bootloader stock recovery and radio and etc. Find appropriate firmware of your model then use ruu it will work.

What was the RUU you were trying to flash (version number)? Was it a signed RUU or a decrypted RUU?
Are you trying to go back to stock for warranty purpose?

[Q] How do I go from Viper Rom back back to stock to sell phone?

I have a HTC one with Viper Rom I want to go back to 100% stock to sell. I started this process days ago and I think my first step was to lock the bootloader then try to find an RUU to run. Try this RUU
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407573774
Thanks, I'm pretty sure I already tried that, but maybe I did the wrong steps or wrong order.
Do I just run that RUU ....no relock or anything else first?

You can find the instructions for running the RUU here. But here is a more current RUU which I think will match your hboot 1.57. Follow the instructions in the OP.
Thanks, as I recall I tried exactly those steps and that is how I ended up in a boot loop.
Specifically when I ran the RUU it would complete maybe steps 1 of 5 and I would get an error and the program would stop with error 'htc fastboot.exe has stopped working "
Pretty much no method I tried worked until I relocked the boot loader and voila the phone booted finally.
Notice I have higher boot loop version. Does that matter?

Please remove from your first post your imei and serialno.
You have a higher hboot, and I think you tried to run a RUU of a lower hboot. Since, you are S-ON you can only run RUU with the same or higher hboot, the same or higher OS/version and the CID & MID must match. If these are not met, it will fail. And the bootloader must be LOCKED or RELOCKED.

[Q] reverting to stock rom m7

Hello. After trying to get my htc one back to stock rom for the list two weeks i am about to give up. it is a pn071000, with cid htc_y13, and the hboot is 1.57.
i have tried with ruu files, but without any sucess. With guru reset 3.62.401 i am able to get it up and working, but only until i try the ota update that it downloads (4.19.401.11). It reboots and installs, and when done it reboots again, but then the screen flickers a second in blue, then pink, and it returns to the htc logo boot scren an stays there.
Has any of you experienced the same, and found a sollution?
best regards Lars

I guess your phone is s-on, you can't downgrade firmware with s-on which is what your trying to do.
Hboot 1.57 suggests your on 5.xx or 6.xx firmware so you can't install a 4.xx firmware.
Please can you post the output from
Code:
fastboot getvar all
please Edit out your serial and imei numbers before posting.
We should be able to find something that will work for you.

Well it's difficult to say exactly as your version main is missing. But you can flash this Rom with your custom recovery. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358543706
It will revert you to stock Rom and recovery. You should be able to Install the last ota for 4.4.3 since your firmware will still be the same version even if your already on 6.xx

[Q] Stuck, Unlocked, S-On, 1.57

Hi,
so, i've been kind of screwing my m7 up lately and managed to get to an older system update (sorry, must have been 4.2.2 but i'm not sure) by using GuruReset. Now, i just stayed with it, until today, i had this weird need to update my phone. So i did the Official update by Vodafone giving me Sense 5.5, everything installed, but now im in a bootloop.
This is what my recovery mode says.
Tampered
Unlocked
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.57.0000
RADIO-4A.17.3250.14
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
I could easily flash gurureset again right now and go back to said old firmware, but is there any way of going to lollipop right now?
What may be important is that my M7 is Vodafone Germany.
