I'm trying to flash a stock ftf file, but each time I put the phone into flashmode by pressing down and then plugging it into the PC while the phone is off, it turns on out of nowhere.
Because of this, I can't flash it. It turns on a few seconds after plugging it in, although it get recognizes that it's in flashmode the few seconds it remains off.
Can anyone help me?
If the USB connection is lost for short time, the phone exits the flashmode and when connection returns, phone boots up to charging mode.
That happens often with my Xperia Arc, thereby I hold down the button even after connecting phone in flashmode to avoid it.

Hi.
After having flashed CyanogenMod on my Xperia V, I now want to go back to stock ROM. I have downloaded and installed Flashtool, and also installed Sony Update Service.
The problem is that when I plug in the USB cable while holding volume down, the LED lights up green. After 4-5 seconds the LED goes off, and the phone goes into charge mode.
If I hold volume up while plugging in USB, the phone goes into fastboot (blue LED) with no problems at all. I also see the phone when doing a "fastboot devices".
So, how can I get the phone into flash mode?
Update: I have managed to get the phone to stay in flashmode for about 45 seconds if I push any of the hardware buttons after holding volume down and plug the USB. I believe this is not enough time to make the flash, so I haven't tried it in case I'm gonna brick it.

Today when i waked up, i want to turn on my phone after disconnected from charge, but its wont turn on, just red light flash 3 times. I returned to charge but still cant turn on. Sometimes i got the sony logo, then i see the battery icon on screen, but still cant turn in. I have searched on the forums, and maybe its get bricked. I tried to connect the phone to pc, but sony companion and flashtool cant even recognize the device, but my pc see it as unknown device.
What can i do now?

It doesn't go to flashtool mode? If you have drivers properly installed, it should go to flashtool mode. Make sure drivers are ready and then connect USB cable to the phone and not to the PC. Hold down volume down and then connect to the PC. Green light should turn on. It means your phone is in flashtool mode. Flashtool will recognize it. Flash the ftf file. (If it is not happening, remove the back cover press power off button with pen or something until it vibrates three times. That will turn the phone off and then retry)
If you run into any sort of error, fee free to post here!

Drivers arent installed, and i cant install now, because sony companion cant recognize the phone, any other solution to install the right driveres

Download Ubuntu latest version from ubuntu.com and make bootable usb(I use powerISO for making bootable USB). Rest will be simple. Do it. I'll tell you later. You'll have to edit a file and install JAVA and run flashtool. Simple and straight!
Dont make it hard...
Let it recharge for at least 24 hrs (comment from Sony)
After that try again..
@up: How do you think it will work on Linux when even Windows cant recognise the phone? Bit pointless if you ask me..
Thank you guys for helping, it seems just my charger is broken. I get another from my friend, and after a hour charge my phone started!
It seems everything okay now, i not need to flash or start a recovery, just need an another charger

Actually, I was suggesting Linux because many users run into trouble while installing drivers on windows 8 or later. It was very simple on Ubuntu that's why I was suggesting it. And phone doesn't go to flashtool mode or fastboot mode unless proper drivers are installed.

Your problem has been discussed over and over again, meaning the answer to your question can be found using the search function.
Search for "bootloop".
I have simillar problem. I have CM11 installed for half a year now and everything was great. Yesterday my phone freezed and turn the screen off, after one minute it restared by itself and freezed again. After that it reboot by itself one more time freeze on the desktop and died forever.
hardreset on back side not working (i try to hold it down for 20 sec+ ). When i plug it in charger led turns red (i had it on charger for 8 hours and it is still red light and phone is dead).
PC companion cant connect to phone, flashtool can't connect, ubuntu can't connect. I will now connect it directly to PC and wait for few hours, but i am not sure if this will work. When the phone goes dead it was on charger with around 25% battery. Any idea what else to try?
Try an charger with more Ampere. I solved that problem charging with the ipad charger....
The best i can do is 1 Amp with car charger (from Plantronics, so i believe it is 1 amp). But still nothing after 1 hour
stronger charger i can't find. Any other idea? The phone is still dead. No vibrating, no detecting from PC only red led light when i start charging it. I am sure shutdown didn't happened because battery was empty, before it freezed it had 13% and then it was at 25% when it died (i was on call) that is why i know this.

4 days ago i washed my phone for about 10 seconds, phone worked normally. After 1 hour i saw water went into both front and back camera. I got out all flaps and after some hours cameras were functional again. After even more hours buttons started to act weird. Sometimes power button wasn't working, sometimes volume up was acting like power button and so on. I tried to restart the phone, sometimes it went into safe mode(probably volume button was pressed by itself). Finally I couldn't start the phone at all(perhaps the power button stopped working at all).
After that i calmed down and put my phone into rice(hoping that would absorb water if any). After 24 hours i had no luck. When i had connected my phone to computer, the led was red, phone vibrated 3 times and then again and again.
Next step was to open the phone( removing the back with a hairdryer), took out the battery and trying to dry the phone with hairdryer. Still no succes. When connecting to PC and start flashtool, my phone wasn't recognised. I installed Sony Update Service (SUS) and then when i connected my phone i heard that sound you often hear when connecting a new device to an USB port. Now my phone is seen by flashtool, but it's always in fastbootmode. I even flashed CWM and it worked.
The problem is that it seems volume up is pressed always so i can't enter in flashmode to flash 4.4.2, it always goes into fastboot.
When on battery the phone is dead at all. Still when i try to charge the phone, it starts, displays Sony logo then shows that it's charging (at first that battery was empty but after 2 hours it got full charged). If i press power button it shutdown.
To resume, when on battery nothing happens( the battery could be dead). When plugged to wall charger the phone starts charging( so battery could work). Power button does nothing at all when on battery, but works when phone is charging or when connected to PC in fastboot.

Did you connect phone holding volume down key or are you connecting usb after that pressing volume down key

Even if i down't press anything, just connect the phone to usb, led is blue, that means it's in fastboot mode...so i think volume up is stuck, pressed.

or the volume pcb might have shorted
Please remember this for the rest of your life:
When you notice that water has went into your device.... TURN IT THE F OFF AND LET TIT DRY...
Using it while it's wet from the inside is really bad.
Update Guys
Today I've replaced that yellow connector that contains power, vol up and vol down buttons. I managed to enter flashmode and flashed the newest official rom .233. Power button and vol up work like charm, vol down is dead.
The problem is that my phone is stuck on safe mode(probably because vol down is stuck). I want to know if there's any solution to get rid of this safe mode. I read somewhere that changes can be made to the kernel so that vol down will be disabled for ever. If you know any ROM, any mod, whatever that disables the vol down button i'll appreciate your help.
hi.i installed android 5.0.2 via pc companion. after a day when i was charging my phone it suddenly turned off and after trying vol up + power and everything i turned off with hard reset button near sim slot.after that when i connect my phone to PC screen wont turn off,but when i connect it to wall charger it turns off just fine. but when i shut down my phon it starts booting automatically.i cant turn, phone is going to automatically attempt boot.

if you want to turn the phone off try hard shutdown after that until next time you connect to to pc or charger it will stay off after shuting down
and about pc....try on another pc
for me if i connect it to pc the screen will stay on ...and if i try to turn it off it will hang for a while and nothing happens when i attemp to turn the display on
but i connected it to another pc and everything was ok
the other thing is my phone is not charged while on magnatic charger
it says charging but nothing happens
i think it about 5 month now im having this problem

yes same here :/ magnetic charger wont charge. and when i scroll down in setting, it suddenly comes up again.the touch is doing something on his own

i have done it i even down graded to 4.4.4. the problem still remains
Hello, my xperia z bricked suddenly while I was gonna flash a stock rom with flashtool (I used flashtool many times before). I just turned off my phone and then prepared flashtool to flash stock rom (kitkat). When flashtool said to connect the phone in flashmode, I just press the volume down button (while turned off) and connect the phone with pc. But nothing happens then. Phone doesn't response. Pc/flashtool couldn't detect my phone and also my phone doesn't response. No led light, no vibrations (holding volume up+power button for 5/10 seconds), no led indicator while charging. Nothing. Just died suddenly :crying:
Then I dissembled my phone and disconnected the battery connector from motherboard. Then I connected it again and plugged my phone to wall charger and charge my phone (no led light appeared that time while charging, phone just heated up) around 20+ hours. After that I got a red led light whenever I plug my phone into pc or wall charger. But the red led turns off after around 30 seconds. From then, whenever I connect the phone to wall charger or pc, red led appears and after around 30/60 seconds, it disappears again. I don't understand what does that mean So,
1. is it hard bricked or soft bricked?
2. is there really any chance to fix that problem by myself? I unlocked bootloader so there is no chance that sony will fix that 'brick' phone.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

You can try s1tool to flash your Bootloader.... Search the forum, u can follow the tutorial.... There might be a hope

just try to have the usb cable conected to your pc and hold the power button and volume up till it makes a vibration ,and then hold volume down even if it does not vibrate it should still conect to flashtools .
