hi.i installed android 5.0.2 via pc companion. after a day when i was charging my phone it suddenly turned off and after trying vol up + power and everything i turned off with hard reset button near sim slot.after that when i connect my phone to PC screen wont turn off,but when i connect it to wall charger it turns off just fine. but when i shut down my phon it starts booting automatically.i cant turn, phone is going to automatically attempt boot.
it jsut shows sony logo, shuts down and again shows sony logo

if you want to turn the phone off try hard shutdown after that until next time you connect to to pc or charger it will stay off after shuting down
and about pc....try on another pc
for me if i connect it to pc the screen will stay on ...and if i try to turn it off it will hang for a while and nothing happens when i attemp to turn the display on
but i connected it to another pc and everything was ok
the other thing is my phone is not charged while on magnatic charger
it says charging but nothing happens
i think it about 5 month now im having this problem

Hey. I got problem with my Xperia X8. I cant turn it on. When I press power/lock button, red light turns on and off 3 times. I already changed motherboard for a new one but it didnt help. I think its battery problem but Im not sure. Also, when i connect it to PC, red light turns on every 3-4 second. I dont know what it means. Any solutions? Seus and SE PC Companion wont see my phone. Thanks.
i think its battery dead :/
You can try it to put into flash mode, connect to USB and press and hold back button until the green led turns on, if it can get into flash mode i think motherboard is not the problem, also try geting in a new battery. If neither od that works, than it's some hardware failure.
At least you can try that, I don't know.

Well, Getting into a flash mode dont work. Also I took battery from Xperia X10 mini pro and I tried to connect it. My phone vibrates after pressing power button. Nothing happens after this. Also I tried holding back button with this battery.
If ur battery is fully charged, and then also its not opening up..then it seem some problem is there with battery itself..

Hmm...I don't know, try with the X8 battery, if it doesn't work, then go to official service.
If you rooted your mobile phone then you're f***ed up, because your waranty will be void.
If you can not go to flash mode and get your phone back to original unrooted software, you will have to pay the service.

use seus selct phone dont plug the usb yet hold the back key hold still then plug the usb a green light should appear then seus will download your stock rom which is android 2.1 eclair.
Hey, Yesterday I managed to turn my phone into a Flash mode, so I installed 2.1 firmware with SE PC Companion, but still my phone wont turn on ;/
If you are 100% sure that you installed stock firmware from SEUS, than you have your waranty back ( if you have it still ) and go to your official service to repair your phone. Yet, if your waranty has expired than pay te service.
i had the same problem a week or two ago, i was tethering with barnacle, and suddenly my connection was lost (my phone was charging in my laptop)...
when i checked my xperia (i was downloading stuff so i was tethering for something like 4-5 hours) the device was very hot and with the same probles previouly described (blinking in red, not turning on, etc)....
i was very scared, waited for a while until the temperature was cooler and the i plugged to the wall for an hour or so... without an answer, suddenly the charge icon appeared (phone turned off)... and it got in perfect shape again...
the other day i was using barnacle again and i looked at the phone (charging with my laptop again) and i discovered that it was again draining even when charging so i decided to charge in the wall and it was ok...
Charging with a wall charger dont work. Tried many things. Now only changing battery can help me. If not, I will need to leave it in service so they could repair it...
Okay, so I made a small step. I managed to charge battery so now everytime I want to turn on battery, my phone vibrates and while its vibrating for half of second there is green light. After this nothing happens. I can change firmware without any difficulty, but its not helping. Tried with SEUS, SE PC Companion and Flashtool. What to do now?
Well,i think its the battery thats screwed up IMO .does the battery look a little bit fatter by any chance

I left my sony xperia z for charge with 11% battery left and when I came back to check the phone was gone. I thought it was switched off
and when I tried turning it back on again, nothing happened. The boot loader is locked and neither the phone has ever been rooted. I've tried charging it for 24 hours nothing happened, I tried the hard reset (power + volume up button) nothing happened. I've also opened its back cover and took out its battery but still nothing happened. Please help. Can I enter the phone via sdk tool kit

You shouldn't have opened the phone.... this voids your warranty.... I hope you glued it back on correctly....
Try to put a rubberband across the device, so that the power button AND vol up are pressed permamently.
If this doesn't work and you can't see that it was opened send it to sony for repair

Hold volume Up while connecting the phone to your pc. When the led turns blue you may get a chance to do some work.

Okay I'll try that but I don't think that's going to work since it's not charging or doing anything. you know. The blue LED is not coming on either. And we dont have sony warranty here in Pakistan, so yeah. Lol! And even connecting the cable with the computer does not help recognize the device.
My method should force your phone to charge

This post is just to show you my experience whit the xperia z sudden death and the only solution who worked for me.
A friend bought an xperia z, and he faced of sudden death, 4 month later. This appear when the phone shuts down whit 0% battery and the phone NEVER wake up, no led, nothing.
- I put the phone on charge 24h/24h ... nothing happen.
- I test all combination of hardware button and I've got a blister on my hand ... nothing happen.
He can't send back in warranty because i root and instal omni rom.
And i don't have 3zx box for perhaps wake up the phone.
My only way is open the phone... when the phone's open i unplug the battery and i wait one hour, after this i connect via usb the phone to my pc (whit the battery unplug!) and miracle the phone boot on bootloader whit the blue led. Then i disconnect the phone to pc, i plug the battery and i connect the phone via usb on my pc and ... the phone boot normally whit red led and stay in charge. He lost waterproof but the phone still alive(since 3 month) without any problem:victory:.
It's a shame, for me this seem's to be a badly planned obsolescence ...

It doesn't go to flashtool mode? If you have drivers properly installed, it should go to flashtool mode. Make sure drivers are ready and then connect USB cable to the phone and not to the PC. Hold down volume down and then connect to the PC. Green light should turn on. It means your phone is in flashtool mode. Flashtool will recognize it. Flash the ftf file. (If it is not happening, remove the back cover press power off button with pen or something until it vibrates three times. That will turn the phone off and then retry)
If you run into any sort of error, fee free to post here!
Happy flashing!

Download Ubuntu latest version from ubuntu.com and make bootable usb(I use powerISO for making bootable USB). Rest will be simple. Do it. I'll tell you later. You'll have to edit a file and install JAVA and run flashtool. Simple and straight!
Dont make it hard...
Let it recharge for at least 24 hrs (comment from Sony)
After that try again..
@up: How do you think it will work on Linux when even Windows cant recognise the phone? Bit pointless if you ask me..
Thank you guys for helping, it seems just my charger is broken. I get another from my friend, and after a hour charge my phone started!
It seems everything okay now, i not need to flash or start a recovery, just need an another charger
Thank you guys for your help!

Actually, I was suggesting Linux because many users run into trouble while installing drivers on windows 8 or later. It was very simple on Ubuntu that's why I was suggesting it. And phone doesn't go to flashtool mode or fastboot mode unless proper drivers are installed.

Your problem has been discussed over and over again, meaning the answer to your question can be found using the search function.
Search for "bootloop".
I have simillar problem. I have CM11 installed for half a year now and everything was great. Yesterday my phone freezed and turn the screen off, after one minute it restared by itself and freezed again. After that it reboot by itself one more time freeze on the desktop and died forever.
hardreset on back side not working (i try to hold it down for 20 sec+ ). When i plug it in charger led turns red (i had it on charger for 8 hours and it is still red light and phone is dead).
PC companion cant connect to phone, flashtool can't connect, ubuntu can't connect. I will now connect it directly to PC and wait for few hours, but i am not sure if this will work. When the phone goes dead it was on charger with around 25% battery. Any idea what else to try?
Try an charger with more Ampere. I solved that problem charging with the ipad charger....
The best i can do is 1 Amp with car charger (from Plantronics, so i believe it is 1 amp). But still nothing after 1 hour
stronger charger i can't find. Any other idea? The phone is still dead. No vibrating, no detecting from PC only red led light when i start charging it. I am sure shutdown didn't happened because battery was empty, before it freezed it had 13% and then it was at 25% when it died (i was on call) that is why i know this.
my z1 has truned off itself and wont turn of again anymore
the phone was on the desk and had about 38% battery when i picked it up to do my stuff i saw that i wont respons to anything
first i tought its a battery drain so i left it in charge and left home after 1 hour i tried to turn it on but nothing happend
instead i saw that the led is in red and blinking while in charge!
tried everthing already vol+ and power
flashing ftf
hard reset bottom
nothing work
and when i connect it to pc the led will come in red for a few secends like 3-4 and pc will try to recognize it but then the led will turn off and come back again and pc wont recognize it at all!
my phone still has the sonys warranty but as long as i live in IRAN it wont help
it hasnt been a mouth since i bought this phone
and now this thing happend!
i really would thanks a little help from you guys
(sorry for the bad english)
oh i forgot to say
when i connect the magnatic charging cable the led wont even turn on
need more info... did you root the phone or unlock bootloader?
can you get the flashtool to recognize the phone?
My Xperia Z1 died without reason. (Dead like in nothing happens, not even a led when connected to USB).
I tried everything to revive it. Finally, I opened it and removed the battery for 5 minutes. After that, at least the led showed a color when connected. But still cannot turn it on.
I tried with the Xperia Companion to "fix the phone", and the process worked well. But then, the phone still does not turn on.
When it is disconnected, nothing happens, it is just a brick. If it is connected, it turn on the LED in blue, but nothing else. Some times, after pressing power and the volume buttons, it shows the battery level.
Any help? I do not know what else to do.

Thank you for replying.
I did that already (5 minutes instead of 1), but did not work. At this point I started to think that it is a hardware problem, because when the cable is not plugged the phone does not turn on (and when it is plugged it only charge, or turn on in that bizarre Xperia flashboot mode).
maybe it is a battery problem which it damaged
Thanks for the reply. It doesn't seem so, because it does not start even when I remove the battery and try with the phone plugged.
Anyway, I already gave up on it.
