Okay now that HTC guide has been updated I tried the audio test and my top speaker is much quieter then the bottom one.
I have not noticed it with music nor any thing else but on THC guide it is a lot quieter.
So my question is anyone else with sense 6 wanna try and see if it is the same for them?
BTW i'm on insertcoin 2.? with loud sound mod and tried stock and elementalx 13.5.

Can confirm, but then again, my top speaker was also horribly soft even on 5.5.. On 6, with beats on, everything sounds much quieter..
Edit : I'm on insertcoin 2.1 with elementalx 13.5 without the loudness mod.

Hello
I got one Nexus One with last oficial update.
When I used the audio cable or the bluetooth the sound is OK, but when I use the phone directly on my ear, the sound is too low... Can anyone help???
cyanogen ROM has the audio boost which makes a world of difference. you really need to just flash a kernel with the audio hack enabled.
But is this a normal problem from Nexus One? Or it´s better to send it to warranty?

Its normal for most of us. I need a ROM/Kernel with the Audio Boost too, but some people say they don't.
I have the same issue since I picked mine up when froyo came out. I deal with it since i don't make many calls. If it is too loud to hear a call I just use speaker phone (maybe adjust the volume and hold it backwards up to my ear even). Bluetooth and speaker phone seem fine. However I am considering loading Cyanogenmod 7 once there is a final build.
You can use the DSP Manager and boost treble, HTC doesn't like bass like nokia

its basically normal. just about all HTC phones come with audio that is too low out of the box. the audio boost hack originally made it so loud that over 50% volume would blow out your ear hole. then they lowered it slightly to make it about perfect.
stock volume will always be low and there's nothing you can do about it without installing the kernel with audio boost.
Many thanks to all!
I will use a cable audio, its the best....
Regards!
Can anyone suggest any 'good' solution? kernel or otherwise to fix this $#@$# 'bug' of low in-call volume in Nexus One??
Would really appreciate all the help!
So as we all know, htc sent out the 1.29 ota which lowered the audio of the speakers, i looked at and applied all the sound patches and the so called MODs to increase the speakers output but im still finding the speakers lower than before. They were working a couple days back but now when i apply the mods its not as loud as it was before, (Note: at one point i installed Faux Kernel over ARHD but it FCed all my apps and when i played music it made beep noises from the speakers. i immediately flashed bulletproof after these deficiencies.) Do you guys have any ideas or anything as to how to get my sound increased or is this happening to all of you?
Thanks for the help!

1.29 actually raised the volume to pre 1.27 values You won't get much louder!
So guys, i searched for this problem in several threads but nothing seems to help me to solve it.
Here is the problem.
Since i rooted my Htc One (E 11) i noticed that i can't use the max volume on CM/AOSP/PA roms because my speakers begins to sound distorted (like the audio is overpumped).
I made several tests with different roms (no audio mods indeed) but the result was the same.
Someone suggested me my HTC speakers were damaged but i think it is impossible because when i use a Stock based rom (ViperOne, Elegancia, Revolution HD etc.) my speaker are simply PERFECT at max volume, even if i use Sound mods.
I really would like to know what is the problem and IF i can solve it because i would love to use CM/AOSP/PA Roms...not only stock.
Thank you.

I have the same issue running 4.3. I keep mine turned down a little, so it's not distorting, and still seems loud enough. I think these roms actually allow the sound to be much louder. But I could be wrong, I'm not a dev or anything
Thanks for your answer. At least I know my speakers are ok ahaah

If this has been answered I apologize. I probably didn't look hard enough.
I'm on my m8 with s-on rooted running ViperRom. I'm one of the few that aren't compatible with firewater.
No matter what rom, my speaker phone doesn't work very well. I can hear the other side fine, however, when I speak... The other end can't hear me.
I tried a tweak from xposed that had an option to reduce distortion or whatever but by enabling that, it broke HTC music and would only play music through the earpiece and not the speakers.
Any fix for this?
Hi.
After updating to One UI I noticed a big difference in how loud the speakers were on oreo.
I flashed back to Oreo and noticed a big difference, but then updated back to One UI and speakers were not as loud.
I have Dolby turned on.
Any suggestions how to make them louder?

It would've been a credible cause to have Samsung act on it if you recorded the before and after update loudness. :\
I've also noticed this. Loudspeaker and call volume has been much lower since phone updated to one ui. Isn't there anyway to fix this?
