How to enable internet on stock rom rooted - Samsung Galaxy Gear

I have my galaxy gear rooted but I'm on stock rom. My S3 also has bluetooth tether enabled.
Can anyone show me how to enable the internet on my galaxy gear? Thanks and I don't want to install null rom.

You need to know how to add Bluetooth profiles

Which is impossible, I think is the answer.

How come? I think if it can be done on null it must be a way on stock.

What you call "stock" is actually a neutered version of Android. Neutered to prevent people from doing exactly just want you're attempting to do.
Rooting then installing Null restores this functionality.
The functions were removed from Gear for good reason. The battery can only sustain 2 hours of screen time, if the engineers at Samsung left the Android functions open, people would run out of power before the end of lunch and a huge publicity stink would ensue.

Thank you. Well in that case, there is really no difference between rooted and UN rooted. All I want to do is instead of showing notification from my text app I want to reply it but that need internet I guess.

If you have a Samsung phone just use s voice to reply.

[Q] Clock and date get reset at every battery removal

As stated in the title I am getting this boring bug everytime I (switch off the device and then) remove the battery.
I am with RocketROM v11 right now, however I don't think it's a ROM issue.
What do you think about it?
I am not on RocketRom so i am not sure but try ticking automatic date and time and automatic time zone
does the phone have a sim inside?
if yes it should not matter.. as soon as it connects to the carriers network.. it should get the updated time

I actually never bothered about wether it was set on manual or automatic, but I tried both and it didn't solve the problem.
It looks more like cheap mobiles that can't keep current time and date when removing the battery for a second.
actually I was watching the anatomy of note and I saw a small battery installed in it. like the one we have on mboards of pc.
so it's a wild guess that who ever have that problem mite have a faulty 2nd battery.

Yes. Inside the phone is the clock backup battery. The same is true of computers. This battery is probably damaged.

Is any one worried about development?

Hey, everyone,
This is my first device in a while that isn't a Nexus (the rumors point to the next Nexus being 5.9" - Nope. Nope, so hard).
Well, anyway, I love this device, but I'm worried about development. Granted, I'm used to seeing development efforts pop-up for the device on the day of launch (yay, Nexus)... But it has been a little bit.
What say, you? Do you all think we'll have a good development community? Still within that return period... Talk me off the ledge, guys.

I'm waiting for the new Moto X to come to my door step. I have the first edition Moto X what's an unlocked bootloader. At first I was all kinds of excited to flash different roms. Time after time I continue to go back to stock running xposed modules. Stock-based features of the Moto X are just too darn useful. I plan on only running a few exposed modules on my pure edition
No, because I'm not rooting the phone. I bought this phone primarily because it offer almost all I need without rooting.
Just like most people that used the moto x, I mostly relied on xposed settings just to tweak around a few settings. Motorola's software is basically stock android with a few very useful features added. I used to flash roms ALL the time when I had my GS4, but I no longer have to do that with the moto x.

Interesting. Yeah, I think its features are really useful, as well. I just figured that since almost all of the features have been moved to an app, it wouldn't be too difficult to actually get them on a custom rom. But, yeah, all the features I want are really minor and probably could be added using xposed. Good point, I'll look into some of them.

The Nexus was almost perfect for me. I just found a ROM that was a little more suitable, set it up, and was able to stick to it for my duration with the phone. I would occasionally update to a later version... but I never really needed to. I just picked a good ROM, and stuck with it. I was hoping to do the same here.

Like I mentioned earlier - excellent point. On my GS3 and M7, I always flashed ROMs. I calmed down a bit with the Nexus, though. Hahaha
Looks like I'll be looking into Xposed. That doesn't mean I won't make some of my own modifications, though....
Thanks for the responses, guys!

The only thing I miss, is custom toggles. I didn't know stock android don't actually have toggles at all, they are more like shortcuts to the settings menu. It's more than annoying. And needing an app for flashlight sucks. If I could get that, would be all the mods I need.

Xposed settings allow for this. Download the GravityBox module within the settings. This allows you to customize almost every aspect of the phone, including all toggles. I set up my phone to have the torch flashlight as a toggle, EXTREMELY handy when you need it really quick.
Don't need development.
For those unrooted, see my no root survival page.
Notification Toggles is very good.
This is the first phone I've owned that I don't miss root at all. It has everything I need stock. Of course I would love to have root for gravity box alone but I don't miss it as much as I thought I would.

Gear S on N6

I own a Moto360 (great watch) and Gear S & 2 but posting the Gear 2 on Craig's List this week. Will the Gear S work when I get the N6 this month?
I am thinking no but was not sure if I could use TB and backup Gear software and restore it on the N6 and work...I have seen post of the Android Wear devices working fine...
Anyone with a Gear running Tizen using the N6?

You can get Samsung smart watches to work on non Samsung phones. Keep in mine if you manually install it by moving to system/app then it should work. I did this for my gear fit on my G3. You won't necessarily get all of the same functionality as with a Samsung phone from what I recall. Its worth a try to see what works and what doesn't.
I'd just get a smart watch I knew would work...rather than spend a pile of money on something that I knew going in would never quite work fully no matter what.

I caved, and was sick and tired of problems. I had 4 S7Es, 2 Nexus, and 2 S5s, my boyfriend's on his 2nd LG, my friend's S7E has extremely bad screen burn. Does your AT&T plan include tethering? Because I'm pretty sure the iPhone checks to make sure you are allowed before turning it on as well.
That said, I'm also bummed about the root situation, but for other reasons. I did find a pretty good firewall in NetGuard, and (ironically) the Package Disabler app that only works on Samsung devices was able to disable most of the bloat. Only the ability to backup and restore individual apps (or even just their data) is missing, and why I still wish I had root.
(yes, I know I can use ADB for some backups, but I'm not sure downgrades are possible that way)

Everything thread.

I've created this thread for those who feel like they want to vent, just talk about random things or even ask device related or non related questions and ask for help. No limits here. Speak your mind (of course within XDA's guidelines and full respect). Ask questions, ask for help, debate, discuss whatever crap comes to mind (lol). Have at it. Whatever you think is random and doesn't fit in a certain thread and you're really dying to get it out, come to this thread and gush it out. That way, we keep other purposeful threads clean and on topic. Remember, whatever the heck you want. Go....
NOTICE:
Please adhere to XDA rules and show respect to others. We have people from all around the world with all kinds of backgrounds and ethnicities, and what may not offend you could very well offend them. Respect is the number one aspect of this thread. I'll gladly report any posts that choose otherwise.
Thank you!
Note at a moderator's request:
All questions regarding development, troubleshooting a device, or questions regarding helps should be placed in the Q&A section for this device.
Questions like "will this device be released with 8 GB ram?" are discussion based, and should remain within the discussion thread. But questions like "how do I flash latest Rom?" or "Can I customize the nav bar on this device" should go in the Q&A section.

That's a chipset power management issue. The only fix I've found us turning off wifi or bluetooth for a second and then turn it back on.
The reason its happening is because of the wifi, data, and bluetooth chips being all in one when it comes to power management. Great for form factor, dumb for data/power handling.??

Yup. That's another thing that is getting old. Giving others crap for asking a simple question. Arguing over dumb stuff. Getting off topic on a thread with something very important, root.
