Even the mid-range Samsung phones such as Galaxy Ace 2 officially supports Google Maps 7 from Google Play. The LG-P880 seems to stuck at Google Maps 6.14 forever....
I'm using Maps 7.7 on my p880 with CM11 Nightly.... You mean on LG's stock ROM perhaps?
Yes, I am on stocked LG JB 4.1.2 ROM. I am not into custom ROM yet. Galaxy ACE 2 with stocked JB 4.1.2 ROM gets Google Map 7.x updates. Hence I don't understand why can't mine get the updates, too.
V7 can be manually installed on stock, but it has bugs with flickery screen for some reason

Hi,
I am currently contemplating whether or not to replace the stock manufacter's firmware with a custom ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S I9000.
I have recently helped a friend to do the same with his Samsung Galaxy Ace and we successfully installed Cyanogen v7, which is based on Gingerbread 2.3.7.
However, there is a key issue with this firmware that has put me off going down the same route with my own phone. Unfortunately, the OS forces you to display your numbers in the traditional American format (XXX-XXX-XXXX). For me as a UK user, this just isnt' practical and has already caused some recognition issues with other apps on the galaxy ace.
I was wondering if this issue has been fixed in v10 of CM, or I was also looking at installing Helly Bean, if not, is anyone aware of some custom firmware that is friendly to UK users and offers the same features as CM?
Please folks, someone must know something on this subject? Surely all the custom ROMs out there can't be completely America-Centric???!
I appear to have made a mistake upgrading the standard firmware as the 2.3.7 release samsung have given me to upgrade my phone is the worse version of android I've used to date!
I have hellybean and it does not in fact I have never come across a ROM that does that I would personally tell your friend he should try another rom

Google has blocked login to Google Accaunts on old versions of android due to low security level.
So what is the solution if i want to use lower version of android?
bcos here in my country many people still use GB version of android if they format there phone once they will not get access to google play store again
Its better upgrade to kitkat or jellybean
Ya but low spec phones dont run good on these android versions

Hello there!
I've tried numerous custom ROMs here (based on 5.1.1, AOSP and CM alike), but on most of them I have problem in sync with my Android Wear watch (Samsung Gear Live) - applications won't sync at all or they do after a very, very long time. The only ROM, that is working without any trouble, is XenonHD (based on 5.0.2 lollipop).
Can anyone give me a tip for ROM based on Android 5.1.1, which has no trouble synchronizing with Android Wear?
I'm using official cm and i have no problem with Android wear and LG g watch! Have you disabled wake-up option on Google play services?

Thanks, gonna try CM and no, I haven't disabled it.
I have found a fast rom for the 2012 N7, I went through CM12.1, Omnirom 5.1.1 and 4.4.4, Lineage 14.1, RR 5.8.2, but none of these were good, with or without custom kernals or parrot mod. The best rom I've ran (and am currently running) is stock 4.1.2 with no mods (unless you count root). Happy flashing guys, and frankly, if you don't want to update your hardware, just downgrade your software. I also tried stock 4.3, 4.4.4, and 5.1.1, 4.1.2 is the best by far. It took an hour to settle but when it did, it was lightning compared to the others.
Also no, I tried CM 10, it's somehow slower than stock 4.1.2

Before buying my 2012 N7 3G (I bought it some months ago) I've read the same on some forum. I use this rom base on 7.1.2 and it is acceptable for me.
I believe some apps/versions are not compatible with 4.1.2 by now, so it may require a bit of digging for apks no?
What I do notice, is that if you want a fast tablet you have to carefully choose your apps (and maybe versions) due to ram consumption. From example as an app for e-reader: Kindle (127mb ram) vs fbreader (27mb ram).
Since you had all the work trying roms I guess you may have choosing apps. Do you have any recommendation?
So far I can tell some apps that I believe are the best/lightest that I use:
k9 email material
xodo pdf
nova launcher
opera beta (may not be the lightest, but it has facebook notifications and messenger notifications so minus two apps I need)
greenify
amaze file explorer
hope to ear from you, right now I am in need of a good keyboard (I am a fan of swiftkey, but it seems somehow slow in my Nexus 7 3G with 7.1.2)
Soooooooo apparently this has never been done before...
The Samsung Galaxy NX Camera is a Camera that runs full Android 4.2.2 and is the first and last of its kind for now. This camera has great potential! I want to be able to use apps to edits my videos and pictures as I do on my Pixel 2 XL BUT the problem is, it doesn't update pass Android 4.2.2. Most of the apps I want to use require the firmware to be at least Android 5.0+ and sucks because not only this device is unknown and discontinued by Samsung but there are no ROMs made for it. I can root the device I just need to get an Android Custom ROM, It would be nice to be able to run Android 9 or 10 but I don't know much about doing this, when comes to stuff like this I am a Newb. So yes I need help figuring this out. (this would be a great challenge for developers I bet lol)
The camera came out in 2014 around the same time as the Samsung S4.
MODEL #: Galaxy NX (EK-GN120a)
Android Version: 4.2.2
