S-Off and need to unlock bootloader - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone is all sorts of messed up...
Bottomline is that my bootloader is locked, I am S-Off, and I do not have root access
I've read that I cannot unlock my bootloader with htcdev if I am s-off
I tried unlocking my bootloader with revone, but I get a segmentation fault
How can I get my bootloader unlocked?
My firmware is 4.19.401.11
Someone please help me. I have been stuck with issues for over 24 hours now.
Thank you.

not sure if you're still looking for a solution to this, but you can use @scotty1223's commands in custom recovery (CWM or TWRP 2.6.3.3+) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914
if you don't have a custom recovery (and therefore cannot "fastboot flash recovery ..."), you can use of these "firmware" packages (m7_u/ul only):
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=13085
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip fw_m7ul_TWRP_2.6.3.3_1.26.401.33.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter RECOVERY (should be TWRP now)
and use the adb commands to unlock.

Handy bricked? S-OFF

Hey,
I tried the S-OFF Guide and it worked. I have a custom ROM installed and switched to S-OFF. After switching to S-ON, I've switched to S-ON just to test.
Unfortunately my handy is always starting in the BL. I can't get into Recovery and if I try to unlock my phone with HTCDev token it just does not work.
Used the Revolutionary Guide. Please help me. I just can get into BL. Can't unlock over HTCDev. Is my phone bricked?
I'm so sad..
when you try to access recovery does it just flash recovery screen then go back to bootloader?

Hey I tried installing a 4.4 rom, got a boot loop recovery keeps crashing and I can get into fastboot now.
The computer is recognizing the phone and I can use fastboot to flash a new recovery but CWM and TWRP recoveries continue to crash on reboot... What can I do?
S-On or s-off ?
either way your best bet is an RUU. the GPE RUU if your s-off or the proper carrier/region RUU if your s-on.

Thank you for the reply, I believe it is s-On the top of the bootloader screen shows tampered & unlocked..
if it doesn't say s-off and you don't remember doing S-off then you're s-on.
What is your CID? you'll need to track down an RUU that matches. Also since your s-on you can only go up in versions, not down so you have to match the mainver.

I can get into the recovery without it crashing but I am stuck there... I have tried to adb push a rom to the phone, that worked then the install failed.. any suggestions?

What hboot do you have
1. Download a fresh copy of the latest twrp 2.6.3.3 from here ------> http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
2. Throw that recovery image into your fastboot folder and rename it twrp
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot reboot-bootloader
Sometimes that erase cache command does the trick

Not really bro. Try to sideload any ROM, I'd shoot for a GE ROM since its a little smaller. As soon as you can get into an OS I hope you try to s-off lol. If you were s-off your problem would be fixed

Please help, possible brick after following guide to flash firmware

I was following Vomer's guide on my One, which has been working great. I had HBOOT 1.54, S-Off, SuperCID, and pushed the firmware twice, got the success message, and waited and when it says finished used adb to tell it to reboot. Now I get the splash, with the lock gone, as expected, and then the screen goes black. If I hold power, or power and down, the hardware keys start blinking and then nothing. A few seconds later I get the splash again, then blank again.
It appears to be communicating briefly over USB because my laptop starts trying to install a HTC MTP device (drive is already on the PC and has been fine) before it looses comms and drops out. I can't seem to get adb device to recognize it....
PLEASE tell me someone can help me recover my phone!!! I will be immensely grateful.
And what the HBOOT version you wanted to downgrade to?

I wasn't trying to downgrade HBOOT, just rather ensure my firmware was up to date. I'd had mine set up as a GPE and was flashing the DE (after supercid).
By way of an update, I've been able to get into bootloader and I'm a bit scared on what to do next so I dont screw this up. I notice that I still have S-OFF, but HBOOT is now showing 1.56 and it says RELOCKED at the top. My plan was to use rumrunner (just because of the HBOOT, but it is erroring anyway) to unlock bootloader, and then to look up the fastboot commands to push a ROM and recovery. Any advice?
Downgrade to 1.44 and change cid according to the Rom you want. Then unlock or set your bootloader to LOCKED
Here is the file for 1.44 http://www69.zippyshare.com/v/95229262/file.html

Can you help me with the adb commands to flash that boot zip? Also, should I run " fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" to unlock my bootloader first?

You can unlock if you want to flash custom recovery.
Place the file i gave you to the fastboot folder. Boot into bootloader and choose FASTBOOT.
Run the following : fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip filename.zip *where filaname the actual filename of the file i gave you
You will get FAILED or sth so do this command again to succesfully flash the firmware.

Awesome. So I've got HBOOT 1.44, S-OFF, bootloader unlocked, supercid, and TWRP 2.6.3.3 flashed again, and I tried sideloading ARHD rom. It all looked good but same thing for the moment, I get the splash and then black......I can't figure out why I can't boot into a rom right now. About to try flashing ROM again.
Okay, so didnt' work. After sideload flashing gets to 100% it just does nothing. Manually rebooting gets me back into the splash then blackness bootloop......
Can you issue fastboot clear cache in bootloader and see the outcome?
Also as you are Soff, you can run dev ruu

The former didn't get me anywhere, but I did follow your thinking and decided to use the RUU and start over. I'm happy to report that got me going, and then I was able to get AR HD on. I probably had to do that all along once I wiped the ROM and recovery, as sideloading clearly wasn't going to work (in retrospect) as it has an AROMA installer.
Thanks so much everyone!!

next time post a "fastboot getvar all" (excluding IMEI and s/n), so you don't start flashing things NOT for your phone.
that being said, if you don't want to use HTCdev, then you can flash a custom recovery (masked in a firmware package), in ruu mode.
if you have an m7_u / ul model:
To unlock again
since you can't use "fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img" with a locked bootloader, you'll need to either use HTCdev or flash the recovery in RUU mode (only possible with S-Off):
fw_TWRP_2.6.3.3_1.26.401.3.zip 8.9 MB
https://mega.co.nz/#!6VcSlICK!lWPl1wgrah43yxom7mLkpPHi71kAXoSk-BdNpaTcxNc
MD5: BF37A63802EB37B37689DE08D133484F
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip fw_TWRP_2.6.3.3_1.26.401.3.zip
fastboot flash zip fw_TWRP_2.6.3.3_1.26.401.3.zip <- it should go through just fine the first time, but just in case
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
-> enter RECOVERY (it'll be TWRP 2.6.3.3)
to unlock again, you use:
adb shell
~ # echo -ne "HTCU" | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 bs=1 seek=33796
in custom recovery
