2) in Windows command line:
cd "path to android adb files"
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (If you see failed message, just run this command again and wait till it finishes updating)

I just managed to finish the process successfully, you might want to try to redownload the zip of 1.23.708.3, your copy might be broken or something.

For some reason, the flash zip command always seems to fail for me:
Code:
$ fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
< waiting for device >
sending 'zip' (46275 KB)...
OKAY [ 2.707s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) adopting the signature contained in this image...
(bootloader) zip header checking...
(bootloader) zip info parsing...
FAILED (remote: 99 unknown fail)
finished. total time: 4.223s
Anyone have any idea? (Not that it matters that much, in the end I got the firmware update applied by applying the whole OTA update...)
firmware zip

i was with the same problem, then i got unlock in the latest version of the flashtool, try if you can flashmode with flashtool!
I had same problem on my z... I went to the Sony site again and copied the unlock code again.. In my eyes it was the same as the first time I unlocked... But it worked for me... I must admit that I tried to unlock about 30 times...
So keep on trying...
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703456 read that thread, the problem is you have relocked without ta partition and Fastboot looks for that. You need to recreate the folder structures in flashtool to force a flashmode unlock.

S-Off and need to unlock bootloader

My phone is all sorts of messed up...
Bottomline is that my bootloader is locked, I am S-Off, and I do not have root access
I've read that I cannot unlock my bootloader with htcdev if I am s-off
I tried unlocking my bootloader with revone, but I get a segmentation fault
How can I get my bootloader unlocked?
My firmware is 4.19.401.11
Someone please help me. I have been stuck with issues for over 24 hours now.
Thank you.

not sure if you're still looking for a solution to this, but you can use @scotty1223's commands in custom recovery (CWM or TWRP 2.6.3.3+) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914
if you don't have a custom recovery (and therefore cannot "fastboot flash recovery ..."), you can use of these "firmware" packages (m7_u/ul only):
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=13085
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip fw_m7ul_TWRP_2.6.3.3_1.26.401.33.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter RECOVERY (should be TWRP now)
and use the adb commands to unlock.
