Hi,
Thread title says it all. Everytime we plug in charger, the screen wakes on. And after the time-out, it goes to sleep.
I want to avoid the wake up.
Reason,
Simple, i dont use any lock screen, and prefer it that way. So whenever i plug in, the screen is on and prone to accidental touches. Even if nothing touched, it irritates the hell out of me.
Required:
Any xposed module,
Any link to any related thread
Any method or mod, even if it requires decompiling anything.
What i have found is, disable screen on when charger unplugged, however i want to disable it when plugged in as well.
Thanks for all answers in advance.

Hello I realized that the phone backlight stays on and does not go sleep when ICS is in use. How do i make the backlight shutoff while keeping ICS in use. I wanted to know this to save battery life? Thanks
Umm, have you tried pressing the power/suspend button? ;-)
If that doesn't work, you'll need a 3rd party app, like Pocket Plus, that provides such functionality...
power/suspend button doesn't work, it just disconnects ICS. Is there another way of doing this without downloading pocket plus? Reg edit or something?
does anyone know a solution to this?
flip the phone over?
to save battery; dont' u just hate a smart kid
errr, it's usually plugged in if yer doing that. if by smart you mean intelligent, then yes.
Well if im tethering ICS using wifi or bluetooth then it wont be plugged in, the backlight stays on and kills more battery.
right, that's why i said usually. The ICS is killing the battery even more than the light, so most people will have a phone-USB to computer or wall charger, or run out of juice fast anyway.
Use this app that I just posted a few minutes ago for someone else. It's in this thread, post #3 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=339469.

This still does not work. If i use this app it does turn off the backlight but then ICS gets disconnected still... Does anyone have a solution to this?
Try psSHutXP (freeware) found here: http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/
The main App adds a soft reset, shut down, and lights off switch. Once run it adds a new Shortcut called Display which will turn off the LCD (just like the "lights off" in the main app.
I added the Display shortcut to my Launcher, and a double tap will turn off the display. Power button turns it back on.
It was made so you can still keep apps running while the LCD is off. Give it a go.
Hi,
On my wife's Xperia, she dropped it, which obviously didn't help, but it seems to have made it work strangely.
a) Pressing the power button does not turn the screen off, it just makes the screen dark however, in a dark room you can see it's still lit up faintly, so it drains the battery as though it's on all the time.
b) The LEDs when charging do not come on, however it is charging properly
c) When booting, the screen does nothing until you pull out the keyboard, then it comes on fine.
Any ideas, mainly it's point a) which is causing the problems. I've got insurance, so I can get it replaced, just didn't want to go through the hassle if there was a solution out there anyone can think of. Could something have got corrupted which is meaning it's not turning off the screen properly, which a hard-reset would help?
Cheers
hi today my htc one's screen stopped responding. i noticed after i plugged it in to charge and off a couple of times, now the screen is unresponsive. i cant swipe to unlock the phone or anything. if i wait a while and leave it to charge, it will work a little. hardware buttons work fine it's just the screen itself. anyone know a fix or the reason behind this? thanks.
Your explanation isn't very clear as to when the screen doesn't work.
I've heard issues with dodgy chargers preventing touch screen from working whilst plugged in.
If the touch screen doesn't work when no cables are plugged in, it's probably just broken.
There's a service menu you can get to with a touch screen test, I can't remember how to get there, but it also has a battery test if that makes it easier to search for. If that test fails when no cables are plugged in, it's time to get it repaired.
So for example, normally, you have active display turn on automatically showing you just the notifications (still need to slide to unlock/wake screen) by vibration (assuming also light is detected ie not in pocket).
Is there a mod that I can add or an option where I can have this 'on vibration' open the screen immediately and not just on active display?
So something like what it's doing now by skipping the active display screen directly and just waking the screen and go straight to the phone.
And of course I have no password on my lockscreen
Does that kinda make sense? Is there something like this out there or a setting somewhere?
I have rooted, unlocked bootloader XT1053 with xposed and gravity box.
Sounds like a dead battery waiting to happen to me. If I bump my desk wrong at work and my phone isn't face down, active display lights up. It can do this several times in the period of 10 minutes, in essence leaving the screen on permanently.

There is nothing like this currently available....and IMO, that is a terrible idea. The whole point of AD is to provide notifications while just barely sipping battery power. Assuming such a modification was made consider this one of MANY scenarios:
You have your phone in your car, it 'sees light', it feels vibrations and so it turns on the screen. Now, not only are you using full battery power to light the display, but unless you reach over and click it back of with the power button, it is going to stay on for whatever length of time you have the display timeout set to.
Just imagine how quickly this could kill your battery....

well for those reasons I understand and would expect some toggle feature for when you want this and when you don't

Could you elaborate on which situations you would like the screen to turn on like that based on notifications instead or active display?

Set your screen timeout to 30 minutes and use the power button to turn it off. Then also turn off the lock screen. About as good as you're going to get, and short of coding the modification yourself, probably the best you'll get too.
I said in another thread recently.... Active Display is what it is. There's no way to modify it in anyway.
Pls is there an app or a way i can turn off the screen while i drive. Times i dont use it i will like to be able to just turn the screen off rather than leave it on to disturb my eyes or use up my battery.
Is the device MTCB, how can we know
