Hey all,
Just registered on XDA after a friend recommended I join.
I have owned the P880 now for about 4 weeks and would like to expand my 16gb SDHC card to a MUCH larger size in order to ditch my iPod.
Here's my query:
I got my 4X HD from Amazon Germany and on the LG Germany website it says you can expand the SD card to 64gb, but everywhere else I have read that its 32GB - who is right?
Also, can you use SDXC cards in the P880? I'm not sure if the phone has the right drivers for SDXC.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Adam
Yes I'm pretty sure 64gb micro sdxc cards will work with O4X, I think I've read some people here say it worked on their P880. 64gb micro sdxc cards even work on devices as old as SGS1, although not officially supported. Not sure though if it will support exfat but it should run on fat32.
Hey,
64gb sd ist the maximum u can extend the phone. but it only supports fat32.

Hello. Sorry for the bump.
Does it support 64gb+ntfs?
Thanks.
Hi,
I was thinking of buying a 128GB SD card and this SD to MicroSD adapter http://dx.com/p/sd-to-microsd-transflash-card-converter-module-27001 and hooking it up to my Nook HD 7" for use with all those awesome emulators and the recent CM builds. Question is, will this work? Does the Nook even support SD cards that big? I don't want to buy something and find out it doesn't work the way I wanted.
Hi,
I have read both on XDA and on the official Barnes and Noble support site that people successfully tested and used 64gb micro SDXC cards. But for 128gb I am afraid none tried or reported yet.
If you do try it let us know it if works.

You would want that big thing hanging out of the bottom of your Nook?

Nobody report it because 128GB microSD doesn't exist.

No, he was talking about a 128GB SD, not microSD. That's why I said it would be a big thing hanging out of the bottom.

My Nook HD (8gig) can't seem to recognise my Samsung 32gig but can for my SanDisk 8gig. Is there some limit for the 8gig model? Should I just try buying a 32gig Sandisk one?

You should be able to see up to 64GB. Is the 32GB one you tried formatted properly. Try formatting it in the nook under settings, storage.

Yea, why would you want that hanging off the bottom of your Nook? And why do you need 128GB of storage for a Nook?
You could tape it to the back and out of the way.
I have

i have one of these, it doesnt work in the galaxy note, but it does work with my S3, there is also a post on you tube , its a rubbish review but you can see it working http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaQIkAHbHoE this should be great with the galaxy mega 6.3, and yes I'd just tape it to the back i dont care if it looks ugly, its only me that will really see it. Im confident it will also take the 256SD card but havent tried,
i also have the little adapter which is in the you tube video which works brilliant on my s3 and it sadly doesnt work on the note, it might work on the note 2 but havent tried it yet...
Hi I know that officially the phone supports up to 32GB SDs but I was wondering if anyone has bought a 64SD to test in the phone? Many phones that don't officially support 64GB SDs still use them just fine...
I was just reading this review and they seemed pretty against 64GB in the phone: http://www.t3.com/reviews/motorola-razr-i-review
64GB SD cards
I ve been using a 64GB SD card in my RAZRi since ive got it......and it works fine. It will only show part of your storage (upto 32GB im guessing)
when you hook it up to the computer....however, everything can be accessed if you use something like Astro File browser or EStrong (both free on the Google Market) on your phone. I just use a micro SD adapter when i want to access the whole card on my pc...job done!!!
AW: 64GB SD for Razr i
I use a SanDisk 64GB card with no issues whatsoever. Both my computer and the phone show me the correct storage space.

Cheers, thanks guys. I don't really want to spend 50 Euro if doesn't work! I need to upgrade very soon, I put my music on the SD and sync from my laptop. I'll get it then :victory:
I have a Sandisk uhs1 64gb which also works fine!
It didn't work in a normal razr (xt910) that kept corrupting the files.
The razr I however is fine.
You may find if you plug it into windows that it wants to format it to exfat. Don't do this as the phone won't read it.
You need to format it to fat32 BUT windows by default won't let you make a 64gb fat32 partition, it keeps wanting to do exfat.
I used a separate free partitioning app to correctly make the 64gb fat32 partition and its fine!
Format it in the phone...
So I'm currently driving an OG EVO 4G, and was REALLY excited to get a class 10 32GB SD card for Christmas last year. My rationale in asking for it had been that it would go with me to my next phone.
LOVE the ONE in so many ways, but kind of balk at the fact that it doesn't have an SD card that can be swapped out.
So what do you ONE owners think? Is it an issue?
Well it depends on your storage needs. I used to have a 32gb card in my DHD, but it only had 8 GB internal storage and I used it with app2sdext. When I got my one x last year I never worried about storage (32gb model).
I had most of my music on there and still had more than 10gb free.
If you really really need 64gb of movies with you you can still use usb otg and an sd reader or an external hdd/usb sticks.
That's my 2c

Yeah, I guess I'm less concerned about it from a capacity perspective, and more from a backup, and maybe switching between ROMs angle... I'm just used to being able to pop a chip and pop another one in if I need to, y'know? Safety net and all that rot.
i am switching from a droid razr hd to a droid turbo. i have a 64 gb sd card full of my tv series and movie that i would hate to go to waste. so i wanted to invest in a dash micro. (shopmeenova.appspot(dot)com/st/order.html) does anyone know if it supports this?
I have one and can access files on it.
Ditto here too with that gadget for OTG. I have a 64Gb micro sd in that unit and can access it no problem.
I have the original Meenova with a 64GB card, and it works fine.
I have tried the newest Meenova reader and it works flawlessly
