[Q] Galaxy Ace kitkat - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all.
So I have flashed my Ace with the following:
cm-11.0.0-RC4-GT-S5830-cooper-PS.zip
The rom works perfectly but I cant seem to get gapps working.
I have tried the version recommended in the thread (mini-gapps-cm11-20140317-signed.zip) were I got the rom from but it just says
"Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped." every time I try to open the play store.
If I try to flash any other version of Gapps they also repeatedly show "Unfortunately, Google services have stopped." or they don't flash because of the size or the rom.
I did manage to flash the following gapps but there was only gmail and no play store.
gapps-kk-20140105-signed.zip
I would love to get gapps running on this rom as it seems to be very stable on the phone so any thoughts of suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
Or does anyone have any suggestions for other roms?
Thanks

no such a problem here , but recommende you to follow those steps:
1. go to recovery and format system and data , and do wipe data and wipe cache
2.flash the cm11 kitkat rom
3.reboot to system
4.after it got boot go back to recovery
5.flash thr mini gapps by mardon
6.reboot and you will have play store and play services and you can add your google account without any problem
what im trying to say is : dont flash mini gapps directly after flashing the rom , so give those steps a try and tell me if it works or not
hope that i helped
sent from my kitkat ACE

Same problem here.
I did exactly what you said, but it didn't work. I still get the messages "Unfortunately, Android Keyboard (AOSP) has stopped." and others like this.
I'll try to flash another ROM, maybe this one here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2587481
If you got a solution, just tell us
Thanks

I'm pretty sure that version comes already with the gapps. Maybe I'm wrong

Google Play help

I have searched and tried everything that has been posted. I cannot seem to get google play to work. I accidentally uninstalled it using Titanium Backup (was trying to uninstall the update) I did not have a TB of it to restore. what i have done so far.
1. Rooted
2. factory reset(Market was not installed after reset)
3. downloaded google play apk and intstalled
4. open play and it will FC with process com.android.vending has stopped.
i am on stock ROM and FRYO 2.2 T-Mobile version
I have tried to install a stock ROM and see if a fresh install of a new ROM would bring back GP but i cannot get past step one to get CWM to install. So all i need right now is to get Google Play to work so i can get this back to norma.

I did not find a solution to fixing the non-working play store but I did finally get the flash to upgrade to GB and all is working again.
have you try installing gapps??
try flashing gapps from cwm, you can grab gapps for froyo here: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-mdpi-20110501-signed.zip
you must first unistalling any google app apk that you have manually install before, then go to cwm then update your gapps
goodluck.

Hi,
I am really frustrated, after a factory reset of SlimBean 2.8, which rebooted to often, I have the described problem on my Nexus S.
I tried the above ... one of the steps of the first method described the change of DPI, I guess that is the first value you can change in the "developer options" > "LCD density" to a higher DPI ... reboot and other steps ... didn't work. The second method with clearing cache and dalvik then reinstalling OS and Gapps rebooting, then clearing data of play store and service ... reboot ... still same problem.
Then I installed the latest playstore from an APK file ... after that it tells me my device is not supported (tough it used to run on the device).
If I can't fix this, I'll switch to Cyanogen or stock possibly ROM, though I really like the SlimBean features.
Any further clues before I do this?
Thanks & regards
Joe

[Q] Install google playstore manually in remICS-jb-4.2 rom

i have recently installed remICS-jb - 4.2.1 rom on my captivate .. and m loving this rom. but the thing is, it doesnt come with google play store installed.. so yes, i tried to flash Gapps but it gets stuck into bootloop . so i had to clean install the rom again (factory reset, wipe, install) ...
i installed many playstore.apk (every version) but they just start and then force closes (no dialouge is shown... it just closes itself after like 2 seconds) . i even copied the playstore.apk in /system/apps but that didn't help. i even rebooted many times after installing the apk.
So, finally i figured the only way left is to flash it via CWM . is there any google android market.zip file to flash via CWM ? if not, please give alternate ways.

[Q] ROM'ed Phone, Factory Fresh, No ClockworkMod No Google Play

I ROM'ed my phone with CynogenMod 10.1.0 RC3. When I did that I got a "failure" message when I attempted to install GApps (I think it was a partial download). I continued with the ROM anyway. But now I have essentially a Factory fresh phone but I don't have Clockwork Mod or Google Play installed.
So how can I now install the correctly downloaded GApps? I also don't see how to go back to my previous ROM.
I ROM'ed my phone because I was getting the ("unfortunately, .... has stopped") for many programs again.
The problem is also that if I go to Google Play (in the browser on my phone or on my desktop PC) I can't install any of the Apps I had because they are "already installed" and anyway I don't have the Google Play downloader on my phone.
Help.
I sideloaded ClockworkMod ROM Manager.
(System Settings / check "Unkown Sources" to allow them; dowloaded the .apk and opened it with FileManager)
Used that to get ClockworkMod Recovery
Booted into Recovery and ROM'ed CyanogenMod and the correctly downloaded GAapps.
I now have a happy phone.
The real question is why these "unfortunately, .... has stopped" error messages keep coming back even after I ROM and do
- Factory Reset
- Clear Cache
- Clear Dalvik cache

Could be because of the Gapps package, I've had that problem before.

Okay, but how to I find out if GApps is the problem, and if it is then what do I do?

Try do a flash just without gapps, see if everything works then. If everything's fine, then flash in gapps. See if that causes any problems.
If that does cause problems, then I'm not quite sure, a fresh install fixes most problems...

Flashed Carbon ROM [LP], getting Google play services stopped

Hi,
I just flashed Carbon ROM (by @hassanjavaid8181).
Always getting Google play services stopped error.
How can I fix that?
p.s 1: I flashed Gapps right after flashing rom.
p.s 2: I did wipe cache and dalvik cache too, but the problem still remains.

It didn't fix that.
Thats a rom specific issue , probably not all permissions are given
Clean flash is recommended.update google play services manually
