When I try to unlock bootloader on my dev edition it says mine doesn't qualify to be unlocked. I've quadruple-checked that I'm copying the 5 lines correctly with no spaces. I haven't activated it yet with Verizon but didn't think that would matter for unlocking. Does it???
Thought I would ask before I contact Motorolla, thanks.

No, it doesn't need to be activated.

Are you copying and pasting or typing the code in manually?
This is known problem.
Copy the code. Open Notepad. Paste the code in notepad. Delete the spaces and enter (make everything appear in one line basically without any gaps or spaces).
Now copy this and paste it in on the website. Copy pasting from command prompt directly into motorola website gives this error. At least on Windows 8 + Chrome combo. Dont know about other OSes or browser combinations.
Shouldn't need to be activated. I unlocked my bootloader and put cm11 on before I ever activated it with verizon. Where did you buy it from?

Why do it manually when you can do it in fraction of the time by chippy paid to notepad and from notepad to moto site,
All it takes is 4 keystrokes to edit it as single string in notepad.
Manual typing will take considerably more time and as usual there is chance of error.
From my Moto X, in your face!
And take care when you use ur gmail ID for requesting the code, It stores in some other folder and not in the inbox.
I waited for half an hour and didn't receive it. Then I was browsing through the folders like spam , bin etc, and voila I Found it.

Anyone know how to change the message center number on a Moto X?
I have an AT&T Moto X that I ported to straight talk. Everything ported fine for phone calls, data and MMS. However I can't send or receive SMS.
ST said I need to double-check the message center number and gave me the number that it should be...I just can't find a way to check it on a Moto X. Past Android phones had this option under messaging settings, and the *#*#4636#*#* trick that worked on other phones doesn't work either.

Thanks for the sarcasm, I already posted that the option is not under Messaging settings. I have an AT&T Moto X, so it's possible that T-Mobile versions enable it but my guess is that documentation is wrong.
For anyone else in the same boat as me, GoSMS has an option under Advanced settings to change the SMSC if you need to.
In any case my Moto X started sending and receiving texts 6 hours or so after the number port to Straight Talk went through. Just had to wait.

Can anybody with a Verizon X pull the ask for visual voicemail for me??? Running slimkat 4.4.2 on my RAZR HD and dont know how else to get it..
Sorry, when I switched to Verizon last year and realized they were trying to charge Android users for visual voicemail (something I've gotten free on Sprint and ATT) I told them to shove it and switched to Google Voice for my visual voicemail needs. Never looked back.

It takes some finesse, but is definitely possible - I'm using Google Voice for only my voice mail on my Verizon Moto X. If you're interested, PM me, and I can try to help you out.
Also, I do not know how to pull .apks and am not rooted, otherwise I would.

Really? Works flawlessly here and very little finesse necessary on my part.
Set it up, make Google Voice your voicemail provider in Phone / Settings / Voicemail / Service, and in the next step when it tells you your carrier is not able to be set up automatically, just click, next, skip, whatever... then dial the numbers listed here (I dial all three just to be safe, but just using the first had worked for me early on):

7zip. It's just another zip utility with slightly different compression. Just do a search for 7zip and you'll find something that can open it.

You need to put the files in /system/priv-app and make sure the correct permissions are set for both files. If it doesn't show up in the app launcher, you can try installing it from that location.

OK. Do I moved it into the system/privapp folder. It does show up in my app drawer however the app won't open.. What should the permissions be set to? Right now I have everything checked. Tried a couple different combinations but none of them have seemed to work..

it may never work. it might need some other verizon apk to run correctly for all i know. a lot of system apps that verizon or others install rely on other apps to work. thats why people are nervous when removing certain bloat ware system apps because sometimes they help other apps work.
google voice saves money and integrates with every phone and is far more useful. You can set it up to text you when someone hits your voicemail even if you failed to receive the call on your phone. No point in using vvm IMHO.

I am having the same frustration. Checked in Spam, Promotions and any other area that I could. I submitted mine last night. Although after I submitted for it, it never reverted to another page though and was just a blank webpage. I have no idea if that has anything to do with it at all.
Yeah I'm going on 4 days now. And I've used two different moto x's on three different computers with 3 different browsers. FML. I'm just returning the phones to Motorola. I'm tired of this crap.
Oh wow that stinks! Wish I could help. I did mine on a Saturday afternoon and literally got the email within minutes of requesting it.
Did you try to resubmit ? Maybe a different email?
Yeah, its odd if it isn't instant. Mine have all been there as fast as I could switch browser tabs. There have been times the website has gimped though, so maybe the email portion has been down when you requested the keys.

i guess you could always just call them and they can figure it out. stupid question but maybe you were signed into a google account that you didn't think you were when you clicked on the button to sign in with your google account... i don't remember it telling me what account i actually signed in with or if it told me what email it was sending it to. but i just did it less than a week ago and it was instant. maybe their servers are screwy or something.
i know someone already said it but there is a junk email box in gmail. didn't notice it before i was looking for an email that didn't come. but clearly you already probably checked that. just thought id mention it.
just thought of this, might not matter at all. but maybe the phone needs to be connected to motorola device id or something. wouldn't make sense that it would matter but i had my motorola device id connected to my google account before i tried to get the code. just another idea.

Would the "junk" folder your referring to be the same as the "spam" folder in Gmail? Sorry but is the Motorola Device id stuff in the Moto Care app? I don't have my X set up with the thing of clearing my phone from the Motorola site. Is that what you are referring to?

i have a spam and a junk folder. I don't know why both of them exist but they both do. By motorola device id i didn't mean being able to clear stuff from motorola. that probably needs to be set up in some motorola app that i don't use. i was referencing:
settings>Motorola Device Id (found under the personal heading on the verizon moto x).
when you click that it asks if you want to connect your phone to your google account. Like i said, i doubt it matters at all for getting the unlock code. it shouldn't anyway. but i figured id mention it just in case it does for some odd reason.
edit: just realized the junk folder i was referencing only gets email in it if you tag something as junk. so yes the spam folder was the correct folder i was meaning to say, not the junk folder.
I had that problem of not receiving the email from motorola when I was requesting the code via Motorola's website for my country (Brazil). When I tried using Motorola's USA website I got the email immediately. So try using the website for another country. You don't need a proxy, just change the location on the bottom of the site (http://www.motorola.com/sites/country-selector/index.html)
Ok I finally got it to work. I signed up for another Google account, and logged into the Moto site using the new Google account. I went through the unlock procedure and it worked first time no problem. I have no idea what's wrong on Moto / Google's end and why the emails got lost in space.

Okay so I found out the only way to root a turbo is mofo and I'm too broke for that. So I found a bloat ware removal .bat file that was supposed to block the apps. The problem was when I ran it, it gave me an error saying "block" was an unknown command. So after much research, I edited the bat file and replaced "block" with "hide" and it took all the Verizon stuff off. My question to everybody is what is the difference between "block" and "hide" in adb? It was obviously a successful program for many people with "block". The turbo has 5.1 if that helps. TIA

If it's on 5.1, you can't use mofo anyway. Block = kitkat, hide= lollipop. Functionally, they're the same.

://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/noob-read-adb-fastboot-how-hep-t2807273
I pulled the phone app off mine and replaced it with drupe to set if there was lost functionality. So far works pretty well, like the app had never used it before. I think my wife has the straight Google dialer for nougat on her n5, up pull it off there and give it a run. I never really used those other features so they never meant anything to me just duplication. If I want to message I message etc..
Teu downloading that file and the program win - zip says it will open those files. Haven't gotten inside it yet myself but I would think that being a regular apk if it is still slow you to install it the normal way
I had the same problem, AT&T is my carrier. I had to insert a T-Mobile SIM, open the contacts app and hot swap the SIM back to AT&T, at which point the phone rebooted and all was well.
There is probably another way to do this, as it seems to be related to video calling.
I Uninstalled my lg dailer to see if I could duplicate the issue. Got rid of that app and replaced it with drupe. Really like the way that app works but it seems that you can't use the dailer codes to access the hidden service menu without it. I don't use the video value so that means nothing to me, but those codes could be useful.
I've got a tgz file that I sent you but can't seem to open it up to extract that apk.
All you did was switch out SIM cards? That sounds odd to me, but I did notice that once the call is placed the LG dealer /call interface shows up but as soon s you end the call away goes the dialer
You know what all ths phone dialer exist in? I searched. For phone.apk found nothing?
you can take it by yourseld...extract the kdz of you model smartphone take the system img and open it with ext2explore, then explore the system image save it on you computer explore system image saved and take all your apk you need..save in your microsd and install..
