Battery issues - Asus Transformer TF701

Not sure if it's really an issue but my tf700 last probably twice as long as my 701.
After about an hour of playing Clash of clans, using reddit(bacon reader app) and general Web surfing(stock browser) my battery is down 30 percent(70 percent charge)
Screen brightness is at about 50 percent.
Another thing I'm thinking of is i have 2 other user profile (3 total) on the tablet. Using the rom in my Sig.

[Q] How long does your battery last?

How does your battery last with continuous use(apps surfing)? Mine lasts about 2-2.5 hours. Is that about right?
That's horrible xD with continuous use I get like 5 hours if I use it to just send texts and surf the web a little and make a few calls I get 20 hours
Sent from my Optimus V
Yeah.. i can do quite a bit of gaming, chatting, surfing, downloading and at the very worst i get 5 hours out of it
Sent via Tehduck Uberdistro Encore RC4 n.33/Tapatalk Pro
With continuous surfing, I get about 2.5 hrs from my nook color too. Runs Nightly 35, dalingrin's OC kernel @ 1.1GHz. Been noticing battery life decreasing since nightly 29 or around when madcat released his kernel with the video fix. (not putting the blame on either, just using as a reference point in time)
When I check batt stats, it says the display is 80% of the power consumption. I have brightness down to whatever CM7 default is (about 33% I think) so I dunno what's up with that...
Oh well, it's not like I can remember what stock was like anyhow, so I don't have anything to make me feel bad
About 4 hours of continuous movies.
About 5 hours surfing.
About 6 playing games with wifi off.
Standby is days.
someone explain sod and what we should expect in cm7 vs froyo, please. i'm going to bed.
I charge mine ~every 2 nights.
I use it 2-3 hours a day. Mostly browsing internet/flash.
I got used to using Setting Profiles Lite in stock Eclair, so I gave it a shot here.. I really don't need the wifi on all the time, so I set it up the way I did before, when the screen goes off, so does wifi. Screen on, wifi back on.
Battery is about .8%/hr, CM7 RC4.

So, is anyone else getting supreme battery life?

With my first steps into rooting, I got a Nook Color and slapped cm7 into it. Took me a while to get it set the way I like...but as I used it more and more. The battery just kept getting better and better!
2 days of idling and 46 minutes of screen on time surfing the web here and there, a few hours of music playing via headphones. OC'd to 1.2 ghz, with 1/4 brightness. (Which is still pretty bright!) And it just ticked down to 87%.
Is this normal? Because it rocks. I hate when you buy a phone/tablet/laptop/other device and the battery just feels...Well, feels weak. But this nook color? It's battery feels supremely impressive!
Are you guys having similar luck?

The very small amount of screen time is why you are seeing such low battery drain. Playing music on headphones (if you can stand the sound of it without an external amp) causes very, very little battery drain on a NC... even if it's Pandora. I've run Pandora for 8 hours straight listening to music while working in my garage and had the NC only drop a few % of battery.
There's more battery life to be had if you are committed and adventurous. You used 13% with 46 minutes of screen time. That winds up being about 6 hours total of screen time, max. I get at least double that, and in one case nearly triple that (although that was reading ebooks with brightness more like 13%).

Whoa, so what things do you suggest to improve it further? Double sounds pretty awesome, the less charge cycles I have to go through in a short amount of time the better!
Also...Do you know how to fix the app drawer from lagging like crazy? It's mainly scrolling in the drawer, it stutters horribly. :[
Go to the link in my signature, therein lies the solution to your query.
cant get screen shot up
I do have to admit that my Nook Color's battery life is remarkable. It's a lot better than my Evo 4G.

RE your apps drawer lag. The one thing I really noticed after adding v6 supercharger script to my CM7 NC was a remarkable increase in scroll time and lack of lag in app drawer and other scrolling tasks. It's definitely worth a try, IMO.
I got probably half of what OP has or even one-third of it.
I found the wireless uses a lot of battery even in standby mode. Now I turn on WiFi (and BT) only when I need it.

so true, i get great battery life when i don't turn the screen on as well. a few hours of reading, though, and it's toast.
Using Mr72's guidelines I get over 4 hours of video, (converting avi's on the fly in Mobo), 8 hours+/- surfing and I've yet to run it more than a couple of hours at a stretch reading but I lose about 3% per hour average, less when I read in the dark. I like what I've been getting.

Unless "a few" is "12-18" then there is something wrong.
I can easily read ebooks in Moon+ reader on my NC for 12+ hours straight, brightness at 10-15% (indoors, lights on), and much more with the brightness down around 6% (indoors, at night, lights off).
If you care about battery life and you are getting less than 10-12 hours of normal use, then you definitely should take a look at my guide.
I was also getting crazy long battery life with CM 7.1. It was so good I thought it wasn't reporting properly!
I found that it was working on a plane what the dude next to me's ipad died and my silly nook was still working!
I experienced the same, but my assumption is that first few days you spend a lot of time changing settings and such. Constantly changing settings or what not is pretty power consuming as the system have must lots of data to load all the changes.

really? i definitely don't get 10 hours or reading, even with the brightness all the way down... i even started using fbreader because it seems like the most lightweight, but i figured the screen being on was causing the drain and that everyone had that kind of battery life. i will definitely check out your guide, thanks a ton!

Battery life and Charging time

I've owned the Samsung Focus S now for 12 days. I came from an android bionic. I have owned Windows Phones before, the Venue Pro and the Hd7. But this is my first Samsung.
For the first few days, the battery life was fine, a full day. But this past week I find my self hard pressed to reach a full work day. I don't play music during the day nor do I have many, if any calls. Mostly SMS and internet.
I've turned off as many background tasks as acceptable, limited the number of live tiles, set brightness to auto, and check email off of push. Yet this morning I reached 20% in about 8 hours.
In addition, I find the time to charge is extremely long. It might take 4-6 hours to fully charge from 80%.
Is this normal for a Samsung?? My other windows phones, and my bionic certainly do no present the same battery problems as this one does.
Thoughts, or is this usual?
Do you have wi-fi turned on? This is a real battery burner...
My Focus S usually goes through about a day and a half before I need to recharge. That's with a few phone calls, some messages, a bit of wi-fi browsing at night, etc. Email only gets checked every hour but it's on 3 different accounts.

while I'm home WiFi is on. Away from home its off. This is normal behavior for all my phones. All of them last at least 18-24 hrs, under the same condition.
Took it back to art. They said , lets try a different battery. I'm willing to try it for now.
I just wanted to add to this as I seem to be experiencing a similar issue.
I purchased my phone at the end of Dec, it's been great.
Now, since around a week ago I've been having issues. I used to get roughly 2 days use per charge and it used to charge quickly.
Now, the phone runs hot, the battery drains in 6 hours or less, and it takes many hours to recharge.
I turned off the one app running in the background. I turned off wi-fi. It doesn't seem to help. The battery itself doesn't seem to be too hot, but it's hard to judge.

I did a factory reset, and got a new battery. I then reinstalled less than half of my existing apps. In addition I've set my display brightness to medium.
Battery life has doubled, and the charging is much quicker.
Read an article yesterday about ads in free apps eating about 35% more battery. Who knows.
Even if they're running in the background? My Focus S takes a lot of time to charge and decharges so fast. 35% is no joke.

I'm also having some kind of battery issue, I have 2 batteries and they are both 100% charged but by the end of the day one is completely dead and the other is about 20%. I use my phone a lot for music and browsing over 4g and WiFi, but I charge by battery to 100% then go to the battery saver setting and at 100% it says time remaining about 5 hours. An when I turn on battery saver it says about 6 hours. On a full charge this seems crazy. Also with the homebrew battery monitor app. It says my phone is using over 4000mV. With screen set to low and in airplane mode. This is wierd.

4000mV? I assume you mean mA? not mV? 4000mV is only 4V which is about right, your voltage shouldn't change much, perhaps +-10% tops
if you do in fact mean Amps...
4000mA is 4A an hour, your battery would be dead in about 20 min at that rate and probably in fire as well
So, lets look at this in a different way,
2 batteries, that's about 3.3Ah max, you only had about 20% left in one which is approx 330mA so lets call it an even 3A of juice burned during your day.
An Average long day at work 12 hours
that's 250mAh current draw every single hour of that 12 hour day.
250 is quite high, but normal with the screen on and high brightness an wifi, however that isn't normal if you are normal and don't sit at your phone each hour for an hour for a whole day.
Things that can send your phone off on a amp burning spree? most common one is the backlight, set it to auto, and have a dark /black theme, AMOLED is the opposite to normal LCD screens where having a white background was best,
Next up is your signal strength, low 3G signal will eat your battery (4G is worse but thankfully we don't have that)
keep battery saving on all the time, it only kicks in when it needs to but I have seen dramatic differences having it turned off even with a full battery, im not sure what it changes when its not down to low battery but it does something.
background tasks can play a part but are minimal on WP.
I have 3 accounts on push sync, wifi and Bluetooth always on (but not always connected), I use it a lot during the day including several phone calls and web browsing, I start work at 8am, finish at 7 or 8 PM and im still sitting with 50% battery...
that works out at an average of just under 70mAh. that's about the normal level id expect, its double that if I turn battery saver off (even though it wont kick in until the last hour of the day)
oh I can make it go quicker when I show off the full capability's of our screens too

[Q] Battery Life on Xperia Z. Sucks.

Folks,
Can anyone suggest how much battery life they are getting on their device. Not sure it is a common problem or my device is defective.
It stays on for only 3 to 4 hours and dies, i.e. just a couple of messages and emails (albeit on 100% brightness and NOT on Stamina mode). Is it normal. Brightness to be kept on auto?
If I play video or so, battery goes from 100 to 10% in about 1 hour maximum.
Have juice defender installed. Also a task killer (which kills the background ones and they restart on their own). But not so much help though.
Any suggestions?

Get rid of juice defender, reduce brightness to 75% on usual daily use, and you should get around 4 to 5 hours screen on time, and up to 24 hours standby time.

snapdragon guru is not available for all region But lemme know about ur kernel and model; c6602 OR c6603?
little working with xZ just uses less than 20% in 24hrs
with 50% brightness & Stamina On
Xperia z is either having a software or hardware problem
I use a note 10.1 for two months and did gaming all the time with 3g on but it lasted for two days without charging. But the Z cant even handle 15 minutes of gaming. It goes down from 71% to 62% IN 15 MINUTES. I expected the update would fix the problem. But I dont see any difference. I was so curious with the Z. But I doubt that now. Is the fate of Sony going to be that of like Toyota.

why are you comparing note 10.1 to the sony xperia z are you nuts

your comparing a 7000 mah battery to a 2330 mah you have to be mad to think your going to get the same performance out of the two. i swear some people are full of crap
It's not bad at all.

On 100% brightness I wouldn't expect much more.
From experience I set my screen brightness to about 25%, which is more than enough for normal use indoors. If I need to use the phone outdoors or in sunlight I'll put the brightness up but it always goes back to 25% when I'm indoors again.
The only sync I have on mine is my Google account, everything else is set to manually refresh only.
On my 3rd day of owning the phone I had 24h+ of use from it, and that's still improving. My battery is on about 60% at the moment after 18 hours. If I turn on Stamina Mode it predicts another 2 days!
However, if I was watching videos at 100% screen brightness, I wouldn't expect much more than an hour or two. Horses for courses.

Your situation is not normal. Maybe the battery life on the Xperia Z sucks. Maybe it's all about managing your apps and stuff - but no. Not that much. Playing video shouldn't drain the battery 90% in an hour. I play streaming video over WiFi for 2 hours a day (boring train ride) and leave WiFi on and Stamina mode off all day. Maybe when I get home at the end of the day the battery is at like 30% and maybe I don't play with the phone much once I get to work - but video kills the battery in an hour? Not if it's hardware accelerated video.
I al sure some people will say "See what is running in the background", but I am not sure you would be able to drain your battery that fast even running like @home stuff.
After a few charge and when the battery is season it will be okay

Bad battery life and stuttery performance

My battery life has been terrible as of late and i have to charge my battery twice a day now. It also seems to get hot while doing mundane tasks. The UI and internet browser get laggy and stuttery after a couple hours after a restart. I'm planning on wiping the phone since i haven't done one in nine months. I've attached some screens. Does anything look weird? I also suspect i may have killed my battery capacity. The past few weeks I've been playing soda dungeon (a video game) by letting it run on auto-combat for several hours each day while laying on a wireless charger on the lowest screen brightness. Its pretty hot when I pick it up after a session. Oh btw the three hours the chart shows i haven't been doing anything beyond checking my email and browsing the web. I dunno why media server is doing at the top.
