****ALL CREDIT FOR THIS GOES TO HASHCODE AND DHACKER****
I saw this rom on hashcode's rom page, but didn't see a thread for it here. So I decided to create one.
Discuss bugs, experiences, questions on this thread I guess.
Installation procedure should be the same as CM10.1:
"Using this ROM requires Safestrap v2.11 OR SAFESTRAP 3.X currently. As things progress we may add support for Bootstrap or others in.
In all cases moving from ICS to JB, I recommend a full wipe and Titanium Backup restore of just apps+data.
If moving from KEXEC STOCK there might be some issues where you will need to wipe and restore. Be aware.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FLASHING:
1. Download the ROM from the above link
2. Grab Jellybean GApps
3. Place both files on your SD card
4. Reboot into Safestrap by pressing [menu] at the splash screen
5. If necessary format /system when swapping from ICS to JB to make sure that GApps and other files are reset correctly
6. Also if necessary do a wipe of data/cache (when moving between ICS and JB)
7. Flash the .zip files as normal
8. Reboot and let the phone sit for about 1 minute while it re-indexes files, etc."

Able to be installed on ANY slot in safestrap 3.x.
Build 6 and on is kexec, needs to be installed on romslot-2, as pointed out by Kwyrt

The rom runs same as CM10.1, but has some other awesome features added to it
If you have any questions for Hashcode about this, I think it would be best to contact him on twitter at http://twitter.com/Hashcode0f

Global Data and Voice calls working?
What are Things that are added apart from hashcode ROM?
Saw the screenshots, very beautiful.. Lot of features seems added.:good::good:
I have been running Stock based AOKP for about a week now and it runs well. The only issue I have with it is no flash for the camera.
I also have been building my own from hashcode and dhacker29 source. I noticed that the stock-aokp build on rombot is a couple of days old. Here is one I did yesterday that is android 4.1.2 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31584441#post31584441
yeah, there are workarounds for most of the bugs in this rom
NEW BUILD, 10-14, updated in OP. This AOKP build has been merged with JB 4.1.2
The ota updater is fixed now too. No more prompts to update to an older rom. But no flash for the camera still.

im just waiting for camera flash or mms to work... id be happy with just one of those
He's about to go beta with ssv3, I'm sure then they will focus on the kenex builds and get everything working.

I just updated to SS3 and followed all of the instructions, once I rebooted to the new recovery my phone bricked. I was running CM10 on the DROID 4 and now I'm stuck in a boot loop. I tried flashing RSD fastboot files but still no go. Any suggestions?

Just to be clear, you are actually bootlooping, not getting any error messages, yes?
Second, try wiping data in stock recovery.
Let us know if that works!

Not sure if I can help, but certainly interested in what happened to cause it. Did you boot back to stock and uninstall the older safestrap first? If you can still get to the recover there must be some way to get it working again.

I ended up doing this right after i made my post and it booted up.
I to boot looped my phone, so i wiped data and factory reset in stock recovery, which once it booted, i disabled super user than re enabled it, which then i was able to update it and get busy box installed than install SS3 and everything is back to normal
Glad to hear it all worked out for you
This latest build is awesome. I got a good battery life and smooth as butter. Love it so far and definitely my daily driver. I just found that checking global options makes gsm function. But,signal won't come out. Cdma ruim works fine.

I have stock camera working on 10-14 build! it has never worked on any previous build, I've done nothing different.
however, there is still no camera flash.
I've seen this problem on other AOKP ROMs... how do I disable the AOKP Statistics notification that keeps popping up? Already ticked and unticked the report checkbox. I just cleared Settings data/cache so maybe that will change it.
Also, how about we "kang" the lockscreen options from CM10. Miss those already.
Freezing??

Yup, last night when I was trying to use the Alarm Clock, and then again today with the Camera. This one has some neat features (Status/Notificaiton Bar customizations are outstanding) however its not quite un-alpha enough to use as a daily driver for myself. I will be keeping an eye on this one though, its looking very promising.
Alright things seems different to what I'm used to with other devices. Is there a recovery for this device like Clockmod or twrp? I know there's no fully working ROM but I'd like to flash mods and zips. Also if there was a fully working rom like CM10, would you be able to flash like a regular Rom.
Thank you for further cooperation.

I am no dev, although since there is no Fire 2 progress, I will likely put together a team (as in, meet with two friends, work on the kindles, they are the actual devs, not myself) to get this thing cracked open.
As of now, there is no recovery for KF2. All the progress is pretty much hacking it up to look like a functional tablet, and getting the gplay market working. KindleFree is a great app once you root to do everything. Another option that I used for a lot, was RomToolbox (I donated, not sure if the free version can do this) to move apps to be system apps, and to get a new boot animation. If you really want, everything can be done by having root and moving files around and manually getting the APKs you need.
As for ROMs, that's a yes and no. I am no dev, but have messed with experimental ROMs and try to learn what I can. From what I see, flashing a ROM WOULD get the ROM on the device, it just may need to be tweaked. For the HD7 I think it took a little less than a month to go from not much to getting it all running. You need to get the touchscreen inputs, data, wifi, DPI. Sometimes it's a quick process, sometimes it's longer. I don't think anyone will really know how ROMs will go until we get a recovery on it.
In order to flash this ROM please make sure you have the following:
Nerves of Steel
Root
TWRP 2.6.3.2
A Current Backup
A clear knowledge of how to go back to stock
Disclaimer: Though I have flashed this ROM on my own device with no issues, and it has been beta tested there is no guarantee that yours will behave the same way. It is possible to hard brick your phone while flashing custom ROMs, and I take no responsibility if this happens to you. Please be aware that this is the first public release of this ROM, and has only been tested on a handful of devices. Further, this a ROM made for the Verizon G2 variant, and flashing it on any other version could be disastrous. Proceed at your own risk.
Installation steps:
1. Boot the phone into the TWRP recovery using ADB.
2. Choose "Wipe", then use the slider to start a system restore. This will take 5-10 minutes. (This step should be optional, but I have not tested it without wiping /data, feel free to test, but expect problems and be pleasantly surprised if they don't occur.)
3. Back out to the main menu.
4. Choose "Install"
5. Select "Blackhole_G2_Stock_1.0.zip" from your internal memory.
6. Confirm by using the slider. This will take 5-15 minutes, possibly longer. Do not attempt to reboot your phone or cancel the flash in any way.
7. Choose "Reboot System"
Please E-mail me or post here with any feedback, suggestions, and especially problems you have with the Rom.
Features:
Built on Stock Rooted base by scrosler
Zipaligned
Odexed, since this phone is a pain to deodex and no one has done it yet...
Stripped of almost everything but the bare essentials. As a rule, anything you can get from the play store is gone. Most LG apps are gone. All Verizon apps except mobile hotspot are gone. See screenshot.
Includes the Mobile Hotspot with provisioning removed for free tethering (thanks to WACOMalt for posting)
This ROM is a Clean Rom that is just the first step toward the final goal of an Aroma based installer that will allow you to build your own ROM with whatever features and mods you want. Since no Clean ROM is available yet I thought I'd release just the base for the people who want something lightweight and stable to flash.
KNOW ISSUES:
- If you wipe data when you install (and I suggest you do) you will get an error when you click through the setup wizard, but just continue and you'll be able to complete it.
- In some cases it may ask you to install the Google Play Services, go ahead and do so.
- The Qvoice has been removed, but the shortcut when you drag up and to the left from home is still there for now. It simply does nothing.
- The Help app is included only to disable the annoying popups. All other features of the help app except the icon glossary will cause the app to crash.
Download:
Version 1.0
Missing app installers:
(Coming soon) Copy these to your internal memory and flash via TWRP to restore stock apps that have been removed. Please post if there's something you need back and can't wait for the final version to have it.
Quick Remote
Stock Email
Qvoice
(These will become links as I put the packages together and get them uploaded)
Thanks:
scrosler for the Stock Rooted ROM I used as the base
WACOMalt for posting the modified Mobile Hotspot
Matt (drkow19), heffzilla, triskropf97, and sgtmedeiros for beta testing
Blackhole Universal Installer
I put together a package that will let you easily create your own flashable packages for the Verizon LG G2. All you have to do is grab any apps you are missing and want to add back from the Stock Rooted ROM provided by scrosler. Open the .zip on your computer using 7zip or your archive manager of choice. Place all the .apk and .odex files you want to flash to your phone in the /system/app folder inside the zip file. you can rename this whatever you want. Anyone can feel free to use this to package any mods/apps/themes as well, just create the appropriate folders under the /system folder like /framework or /media.

AWESOME! Cant wait to try. When you say LG apps are removed, are you removing functionality like knock-on? Or just things like quick remote/Qslide?

All the LG features, gestures and functionality are left in. Knock-on, Quickwindow, Quickmemo, Qslide, Slide-aside, etc. all work as intended. The LG apps is the stuff like notebook, quick translate, quick remote, email, qvoice etc. Stuff you can get better versions of from the market, or that not everyone uses. In the final rom I'll have them all available to add back, but for now I tried to make it as clean as possible without affecting any of the extra features that LG provides. And if I've removed something that a majority of people want back it can always be added in the next version.

It needed to be. OG droid ROMs used to be no more than 200MB, now were looking at 10 - 15 times that and it's just crazy. Who wants to download and copy a 2 gig file to their phone? But with Aroma that's what it will end up being. I'd so much rather use Rom Manager like on the fascinate, so you only download what you want, but then you're downloading over a gig straight to the phone. Oh well.

Not sure if you want requests or not, but do you plan on adding features like:
- Black/Transparent nav and status bar
- Removal of location icon
- Remove AM/PM - Do you know if this one is possible?
- AOSP status bar icons
I am on the other VZW rooted rom in the same section of XDA this rom is in with TWRP recovery. I am not on the latest TWRP recovery. After I get on the latest recovery, do I wipe factory reset, clear caches and flash like it was with the GNex? I just really do not want to have to worry about bootlooping and such. This looks like the rom I am looking for.....thanks, I appreciate any helpful responses..
That's a good question. It is the stock ROM essentially

yes, those features are intended to be an optional part of the final product. I just wanted to release something people could flash for an easy debloat now. Since this is a stock based rom built off the OTA, any mods that work with the OTA should work with this ROM, I just haven't tested them yet. I am not much of a modder, but I intend to add available mods to the Aroma installer for the final ROM, with permission of the creator of course.

Once you have flashed the latest version of TWRP, I do recommend wiping data and cache. This should notbe necessary, but I haven't done enough testing to say for sure. If you have opened and used apps on stock that have been removed in the ROM, it's difficult to say what dependencies they may have created. If you are concerned about getting a bootloop, then wipe. If you are prepared to restore to stock with the link in the OP, then go ahead and don't wipe and hope for the best. Again, it should work, but I haven't had anyone test it yet.
And ultimately, if you're on the latest version of TWRP, I believe they fixed the issues with booting into recovery with the hardware buttons, so if you do get caught in a bootloop you should be able to enter TWRP and restore a backup. Someone please correct me if I misunderstood this, "2.6.3.2 removes /misc from the recovery.fstab which prevents factory reset when you use the key combo to enter recovery."

Is the LG filesystem any different from the filesystem on the Gnex?
If not, Ive had great success using the Android Revolution SuperWipe script before flashing a ROM. I add it as the first zip in the queue on TWRP and it handles wiping all of the caches/data/system
If I know for sure it will work on the G2 Id be happy to provide a dropbox link.
Works great but it force closed on the initial install when i tried to do the email part and the stock email app is not there otherwise so far so good
Glad to see it posted! Still running great for me, thanks again!

To good to be true?
I did some tests on the Philz recovery, did a nandroid then a factory reset followed by a restore and ended up with pretty distorted speaker sounds. Now, this COULD be unrelated, but I wonder....
Decided to dirty flash CROMi-X 7.0.3 and Aroma completely froze halfway through the installation screens....

That is not a root app. Just seems to make the sound clearer and open it up a little.
My recovery is just a demo! I don't have enough knowledge in android recoveries, so I just include rm-wrapper and necessary libs (in /touch_libs). Also /system/bin/linker needed for correct works. Be careful now, and maybe someone else will make really good recovery.

Proof of concept is all we really needed to take off on this! Thank you!
I'm unfamiliar with /touch_libs... Where is that?
Also, which other libs ended up being required?
Maybe the touch recovery is affecting the sound eventually. You wouldn't think but to be safe maybe hold off til the problem is found. Could it be something else. Find out a bit later if it is something else like maybe it is one of the ROMs or a setting. My sound is good afaik.

It is in recovery's root. Extract recovery.img by abootimg and then initrd.img by cpio.
I reinstalled CROMi-X 7.0.3 totally clean, formatted everything but /boot and ext-sd (data/media/ needed a cleanup anyway, he, he), still the same. The speaker seems to be shot. But how installing or using Philz would cause this is beyond me. It's gotta be unrelated....
Starting with a nice script by @Phil3759, I compiled a PhilZ Touch recovery for the Galaxy S5 Plus as this phone, by now, is widely spread over Europe. I took also some parts of the cwm from @Chenglu (Xiaolu). I didn't test all functionnalities, but, normally, this shouln't be very different from what is existing for Lollipop. A file is attached. Use ODIN or dd.
All credits are for these two guys, specially for @Phil3759 and many thanks to them.

You are right.
it is a first step and only a strict compilation of @Phil3759 sources. Before adding other properties, I need test reports upon what is working and what is not. Then the first job will consist in making recovery seeing the extSdCard. Moreover, if I compiled this recovery, it is mainly to try to add f2fs formatting in order to replace the ext4 filesystem.
good work, when you get the ext sdcard working I will start using it.
Is this able to use backups made by the older CWM we been using?

v2 works perfectly here, formatted and flashed a rom from extsdcard perfectly! great work mate :good:
I just noticed it says lollipop, does this mean this recovery wont work with kitkat roms?
issues I found
with touch interface enabled and pressing the circle button, I often by mistake do 2 actions, it seems it repeats even if the repeat key option is disabled.
date/time is completely wrong. time zone is set correct but the time displayed is completely wrong, my local time is 16:37 4 may and its displaying 8:14 5 may.
setting brightness has no effect, always same brightness.
dim screen delay also doesnt work (screen never dims)
ok for now I having to revert to the basic cwm as my extsdcard is exfat.

I didn't try kitkat roms as I don't need them anymore. If bootloaders are not different it could work.
Touch interface is very sensitive. Try to lower the Scroll Sensitivity.
Time appears foolish. Just tick the Qualcomm Time Daemon and you get the right time
exfat is a real problem and I try to solve this question.

bootloader kitkat and lollipop are different
so what issues does different bootloader cause?
I was able to access the recovery fine with a kitkat rom installed.

Good news !
issues with bootloaders : mainly bootloops or phone freezes.
