Hey everyone, first post here.
I recently bought a NEW HTC Dream off eBay. After receiving it, i tested out with my sim card, and found out that it does indeed work with my network (3 Australia), and everything else functions as normal (google sync, sms, internet).
However, i know that the firmware is 1.1, and i want to upgrade it. After trying to "Check for updates" in the normal settings, an error occurs and force closes the settings, not allowing me to upgrade.
I checked the info, and this is what it is (see text file attached as i cannot post "links")
the phone IS "T Mobile" branded, yet it works with all of my settings in Australia, except for the upgrade.
I tried to download 1.5 various times, and tried to upgrade manually, but it will not work.
My question - what is going on, why can't i upgrade to the latest firmware ??
Thanks everyone in advance
bump
please guys, need help !
I can't get internet WIFI connection after installing android 4.04 on my HTC Incredible S. I already did a couple of factory reset and no success. It was working perfectly with 3.2, is there an easy solution? Can anyone help?:

A little more information would be very helpful in trying to answer your question.
Are you talking about turning on the Wifi hotspot application? What ROM version were you running which had that feature working (I don't recognize a ROM that had a version 3.2)? Was this a stock ROM or a custom ROM? Was it rooted?
How did you install Android 4.0.4 and which version did you install? Again, was it an official upgrade from HTC or did you install a custom ROM? If so, which one?
I am talking about a phone successfully connected to a domestic WIFI or office but no internet connection. The HTC INcredible S phone info is HTC sense 3.6/Android 4.04 *LOCKED* HBOOT 2.02.002 - May 22/2012.
I installed it from the official HTC service when the phone automatically suggested update. I believe I had Android 3.2 or 3.2 previously and everything was fine.
Thanks

I just finished another factory reset for the third time and can get no internet connection via WIFI after installing android 4.04 on my HTC incredible S. It is an official install recommended by HTC. My iternet configuration is correct, everything worked fine with the previous android version 3.2, my router huawei hg533 is correct. I not sure if downgrading or upgrading will solve the problem. What else can I do? Can anyone please help????

Try another network. Make sure your phone has an IP address when connected. Try forget the network and reconnect. If all else fails download a GINGERBREAD 2.3 RUU and downgrade
Android 3 never released on phones it was for tablets only

Thanks for the reply, I have everything configured correctly and I can go on line at home via WIFI using a Sony Xperia phone. The HITC Incredible managed to go online in restaurant and Office WIFI with no problem. So, my router is a Huawei Echolife hg532 and works fine with every other devices but my HTC phone. It seems that the HTC Incredible S android 4.04 cannot connect to all routers, users beware. How many of you are experiencing the same problem? Will HTC acknowledge the problem and release an update soon?

I must say for being on the stock 4.04 ROM, you are the only one I have heard of that has had any issue with WIFI connections. The chances of HTC acknowledging the problem and slim to none and I seriously doubt that we will see anymore updates from HTC for the IncS.
It's unbelievable! I spent a whole week trying to go online through my home WIFI. Now It is going online and working normally. It seems to work after I managed to connect on other WIFI's from office and restaurant, like I mentioned on my previous post. Now I am afraid that it may stop working again if and when I reboot the phone. Can anyone figure this out? I am puzzled...
PS: By the way I read on other forums, some people experiencing the same problem and solving it by fiddling with DLNA auto IP on/off.
Cheers
No Wifi Connection on any android 4.0 + Rom
Hey guys, I just gotten white HTC Butterfly S last week, and now, after root, unlockBL. My device not detect magnetic field. Compass not working.
Do factory reset, but still not working.
anyone ever experience that?
Solution?
Sorry for my bad English.
Installed SmartCompass from PlayMarket - works like a charm (rooted phone with MaximusHD rom)
I recently updated to 4.4 through Sony not rooted.
My Bluetooth does not work at all.
It cant find other devices and nobody can find my phone???????????
Help anybody
Try Factory Reset and if this not help Repair via PCC. This are the first 2 things what have to be done after facing some issues.
I hope you did allow your phone being find-able...?
Hi all,
Can anyone help with a problem after flashing to 4.4.2?
I've got an i9295 that was provided by T-Mobile in the UK. I flashed my phone with I9295XXUCNE4_I9295NEECNE4_I9295XXUCNE4_HOME.tar.md5 which is designed for the 'Nordic countries' but I was assured works with UK phones, "all i9295" devices. Everything went swimmingly until the phone booted up. Everything is working and the flashing went as expected (I've done it LOADS with my old Galaxy S2). However, I can't turn on the WiFi. It doesn't even light up the icon.
How can I diagnose the issue? Or can anyone provide a ROM that might work better with my phone? Heck, I'd even settle for the stock ROM so at least I can use the WiFi.
Thanks for any help you can provide! I'm familiar with flashing ROMs so I'm not a noob.
Cheers,
Richard.

In the end I had to find a stock firmware to put the phone back to 4.2.2 and it's all working again, although it's not Kit Kat anymore, of course. There is a really good list of stock firmwares here: http://www.mrcrab.net/androidfirmware/GT-I9295/Samsung-Galaxy-S4-Active-GT--I9295.html
I guess I'll have to wait for Kit Kat...
