I can't get internet WIFI connection after installing android 4.04 on my HTC Incredible S. I already did a couple of factory reset and no success. It was working perfectly with 3.2, is there an easy solution? Can anyone help?:

A little more information would be very helpful in trying to answer your question.
Are you talking about turning on the Wifi hotspot application? What ROM version were you running which had that feature working (I don't recognize a ROM that had a version 3.2)? Was this a stock ROM or a custom ROM? Was it rooted?
How did you install Android 4.0.4 and which version did you install? Again, was it an official upgrade from HTC or did you install a custom ROM? If so, which one?
I am talking about a phone successfully connected to a domestic WIFI or office but no internet connection. The HTC INcredible S phone info is HTC sense 3.6/Android 4.04 *LOCKED* HBOOT 2.02.002 - May 22/2012.
I installed it from the official HTC service when the phone automatically suggested update. I believe I had Android 3.2 or 3.2 previously and everything was fine.
Thanks

I just finished another factory reset for the third time and can get no internet connection via WIFI after installing android 4.04 on my HTC incredible S. It is an official install recommended by HTC. My iternet configuration is correct, everything worked fine with the previous android version 3.2, my router huawei hg533 is correct. I not sure if downgrading or upgrading will solve the problem. What else can I do? Can anyone please help????

Try another network. Make sure your phone has an IP address when connected. Try forget the network and reconnect. If all else fails download a GINGERBREAD 2.3 RUU and downgrade
Android 3 never released on phones it was for tablets only

Thanks for the reply, I have everything configured correctly and I can go on line at home via WIFI using a Sony Xperia phone. The HITC Incredible managed to go online in restaurant and Office WIFI with no problem. So, my router is a Huawei Echolife hg532 and works fine with every other devices but my HTC phone. It seems that the HTC Incredible S android 4.04 cannot connect to all routers, users beware. How many of you are experiencing the same problem? Will HTC acknowledge the problem and release an update soon?

I must say for being on the stock 4.04 ROM, you are the only one I have heard of that has had any issue with WIFI connections. The chances of HTC acknowledging the problem and slim to none and I seriously doubt that we will see anymore updates from HTC for the IncS.
It's unbelievable! I spent a whole week trying to go online through my home WIFI. Now It is going online and working normally. It seems to work after I managed to connect on other WIFI's from office and restaurant, like I mentioned on my previous post. Now I am afraid that it may stop working again if and when I reboot the phone. Can anyone figure this out? I am puzzled...
PS: By the way I read on other forums, some people experiencing the same problem and solving it by fiddling with DLNA auto IP on/off.
Cheers

That means The various Kernel does't flashed to youi phone

What about Komizk kernel
You need the bcm.4430 or whatever file out of your stock rom and placed into your new kernels modules folder you will see on similar in there that you can replace it with.. I think every carrier has a different one

Try turning airplane mode on and within airplane mode, try turning on wifi hotspot, after that deactivate hotspot, tuen on wifi, and exit airplane mode. Worked for me on my device, as well as my brother in law lg, my sisters htc evo, my gf desire z as well as my past htc sensation

try reflashing the kernel if it doesnt show up in "about phone" then its still S-ON and you'll need to S-OFF it. then it should flash correctly. Have you tried flashing via fastboot?
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
and push the kernel modules to system/lib
Having been down this road................................
See my Post here.........
It basically is what causes your issue is your MAC address is gone. Flashin the correct kernel can fix it, or pushing the right file to the right location can probably also fix it. It was the prior that worked for me.
HTC One S - Wi-Fi stuck at "Turning On"
I have an HTC One S (unlocked T-mobile) which runs on stock 4.0.4. And over the last 8 months all I have been doing is looking for a solution for my Wi-Fi issue. It worked perfectly fine initially. But then Wi-Fi suddenly stopped working. I don't remember clearly if this was after an OTA update or not. The Wi-Fi keeps trying to turn on but doesn't go past the "Turning on" phase. I can't even shut it and it drains my battery very fast because the phone never goes to sleep. I don't know if this is a software or hardware issue. I have tried practically everything including a Hard Reset. My phone is not under warranty so I need someone to help me fix this issue. Will a jelly bean update (whenever it does come) solve the issue? Or maybe rooting the phone to CM?

Howdy folks,
I received the HTC One (801n) earlier today. It arrived with 4.1.2.
Explored it for a few minutes, although I did not set it up fully - assuming I'd have to do it all over again following a 4.2.x update (I am coming from the HTC Desire, btw).
The WiFi was connecting without issues, then. I was also able to download the official 4.2.2 update from HTC servers.
The update was executed successfully - and surprisingly - I did not have to set-up the device from scratch. I then happened to notice that the phone would not connect to the WiFi network. I have my old Desire beside me (running a 4.2.2 custom ROM) and it has never faced those issues.
For a moment, I thought it was a hardware defect - but I recalled that the update from 4.1.2 was done OTA on the same WiFi network. I am, therefore, guessing it is a 4.2.2 bug.
Unfortunately, Google searches did not show any such issue specific to the One. However, there were 4.2.2-and-WiFi related issues in the One X.
I have tried a few full-resets in vain. Could someone please offer an insight?
Thanks, in advance, for your time/help.

Try removing the network in wifi settings and then reconnecting from new, it's not a issue with 4.2.2 causing this.
If that fails then after a base update (4.1.2 to 4.2.2) a factory reset is sometimes required after the update but this will mean having to set everything up again.

Thank you for the response. Did that, mate.
I guess you mean - 'forget' network and reconnect afresh? Yep, tried that. And did the factory reset too - to no avail.
Searched threads here, guess this is a first - in the meanwhile, I'll check out other Google results which indicated similar issues with the One X. Never owned one before, but shouldn't be all that different.
Hey guys,
I have a Z1 C903, which doesn't work as a wifi tether nor bluetooth tether. I can turn it on, and other devices can see it, however when trying to connect, the signal drops completely.
If I wait the signal will restart and become full strength, where I will need to manually connect, which proceeds to the signal disappearing again. I've tried unsecure, wpa2, wpa to which I have no luck either. Devices such as laptop will say limited connection, whereas android tablets and phones will refuse to connect and will say "Saved, secured with WPA2" or something else if i change the password method.
I've tried searching for any reports of wifi tethering not working, but the problems seem to be different from my situation.
More details on my device:
It has an unlocked bootloader
Now running Paranoid android
Problem occurred on stock 4.3, nut 4.4 (I assumed it was a glitch on Sony's drivers, and have waited for months now for a patch)
Could a faulty TA do this?
Any ideas?
Am I f***ed?
Cheers

Flash your phone by flash tools including wipe apps log and cache and system
It should solve your problem
And of course first re-lock your BL and flash to stock Rom

Sorry about late reply, I am out in urban areas without internet connection. I'll try doing this tonight.
Am I right in assuming all Z1 CM ROMs have this problem, if I must install a stock-based ROM?

Oh, sorry I forgot to tell you
You should use stock rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469191&page=145
Go here and fun your phone model and download the version and region you want

You can try to change the name of your phone (Network SSID) to a simpler form instead of default.
I got it working
I got it working thanks to your suggestion, Saeed.
I flashed the stock ftf from the mega thread and that restored my tethering capabilities. I then proceeded to reinstall the ParanoidRom and now the tethering works as well.
I'm not sure what happened, but I'd assume something went wrong when upgrading to 4.3 and the problem stayed when I then upgraded again to 4.4 and then to paranoid.
Thanks
Ok Kinda long but want to cover everything:
So I rooted my htc one m8 (sprint) about 6 months ago I have twrp recovery and I flashed android revolution 8. A few months later I installed android revolution 11 no problems with it what so ever. A cpl days ago I tried to flash android revolution 22 but had no luck just kept boot looping and I lost everything on my phone after some research It seems I wouldnt be able to go to kit kat 4.4.4 without going back to stock rom so I relocked my bootloader ran rom utility updater and flashed it back to stock and reset up my phone tried to flash over to android revolution again after unlocking bootloader and all that good stuff still did not work so just decided to go back to stick 4.4.4 kept bootloader locked and didn't re root my phone didn't see much of a need to at this point could only seem to use stock but anyway after a day or so of phone running just fine well today it wont connect to my mobile network or wifi (can't make or receive phone calls can't send or receive texts and am unabke to get any internet on my phone wont even connect to wif) I have even restored the phone from original back-up that I had also tried 2 other back-ups of stock roms the phone is pretty much just an mp3 player at this point sprint said everything was fine on their end nothing they can do all the icons are there for 4g and wifi and such the phone shows me its connected to sprint shows signal strength and all that so I don't know whats wrong and don't think htc will help me since I rooted it hopefully some one here can i'm
well I must be screwed if over 300 views on my post and not reply well that's what I get I guess
As far as I know ARHD is not Sprint compatible so you probably messed up your partitions.
RUU will fix it.
Only flash roms that are in the Sprint section.
Apart from compatibility off ARHD to Sprint M8 ... There is also that dreaded HTC service pack that was released on 11th Dec which screwed the network n Wi-Fi on my phone (stock Rom)
First time itty happened due to auto update install via play store and started working after I did multiple attempts at cache delete through TWRP
2nd time even after researching and knowing the service pack was the culprit I thought I should try...ending up with factory reset...so do check it
If you too had that service pack installed
Btw even htc acknowledges the sh#@ this update is causing to the phones and wants to collect more data... I don't know if anything else can be called a legit rip off or not...

Hi, are you updating your Firmware along with the rom ? If their is no 7.x.yourVersion.x firmware to match your version, you have to have s-off to change your phone's CID / MID to use a International (7.xx.401.x) or Developer Edition firmware (7.xx.1540.x)
