Haptic Too Strong? - Moto X Q&A

Why phone has no option to adjust the soft keys haptic strength? Way too strong for my liking. Great that for keyboard we can adjust the strength but why no setting to adjust overall system haptic strength? Weird. Can turn off for now I guess. Hope an update will incorporate this setting.

Wow, people really don't read the whole paragraph ( "Overall soft keys haptic".) But thanks anyway for the input. Hope a system update will give us an option for haptic feedback strength like the Galaxy's have. Finger crossed???... Prob won't happen.

I read, there is no system option. I posted the only solution I know of for unrooted users. Is not typing the most important input?

I never used the stock keyboard so I did not realize there was a haptic setting.

I could help if you do not know how to use.

I am not rooted.

Yeah, thanks for the link. But root is needed and I'm on the 4.4.2. No root. I'll live with haptic off. No problem. Thanks.

thx for the tip!!! but can i change the height of the nav bar, it's occupying too much space
Not sure maybe you could change then LCD density?

i have seen soft keys mods for devices where you can customize it (like adding a menu button, change the heigth etc.). But I don't know how that is done. For now we at least have a way to enable the soft keys. It's not working properly with LGs apps (like the dialer), so some modding would have to be done anyway. I've done some searching and found the framework-res.apk method, where you can at least change the heigth of the navbar. It's found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364757 . If you can succesfully use it, please share the result with us.

landscape dialer issue

I can't seem to find mention of this issue anywhere...
When I make a call with my note in landscape mode, the keypad, when deployed remains almost entirely obscured by the in call button panel so I can't use the keypad. I have screen shots, if I could just figure out how to get emails up.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Which rom are you on? Do you have a custom dpi set?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
ROM is SMASUNG standard - upgraded via the official KIES route from GB to ICS.
Rooted.
It has always done this - from the outset - before I looaded any extra apps, as I recall,.

If you have custom dpi set this is standard, set one handed operation in settings, should fix it, or use custom dialler.

The Locks screen effects

Can I get rid of the brush stroke on the lock screen I've looked and I've Googled and can't find anything.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app
If you go to settings -> lock screen about half way down is something called "lock screen effects". You can change then there. Only two choices though.

So I thought I'd ask here or ow. start another thread, but my lock screen effects have been disabled after using a live wallpaper (now back to just a picture)
EDIT: Nevermind. I just had to reset the background to a different picture and the options came back.

Taking pictures delay

I love my note 3 but one thing is getting on my last nerve. When I take pics it is not fast enough it follows with processing then a delay. Is there a way to get rid of this stupid processing . I know if I put it on sport mode it takes pics fast but there are moments where I need it fast. Or if there is anyway to set the sport mode as a default mode. Any help would be appreciated.

In settings, camera, turn off “smart stabilization"
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Do you have the smart stabilization feature turned on? Make sure that is off and you won't have the processing delay.

With that feature off you should be able to take pictures as fast as you can hit the button.
I've noticed also with flash off it is much faster too.

Annoying keyboard switch shortcut, how to get rid of?

I don't recall this being here all along, but this little shortcut is massively annoying.. It pops up when I'm trying to type. Does anyone know the setting to get rid of this?
Thanks in advance...

Seriously it really annoys me also
It used to be in the status bar... I find it more convenient now.

I would also if it didn't hit my finger all the time.. There should be an option to turn it off for those of us that do not like it..

Do you use any other virtual keyboards? If not, disable all but the one you do use and then that button disappears.
I too found it annoying catching it by accident but I only use the one keyboard so this solves it for me.

Well, that's what I have always done.. But.. I found that I could only get the "pen input" if I didn't disable the Samsung keyboard.. Now that I think of it, that must be why, because once I enabled that, it began showing up..

Wish I knew how to get rid of the super annoying Samsung web browser scroller bar on left side of screen. One touches it and the whole screen scrolls up or down .

To disable keyboard button
Open settings, select general management, select language and inputs, disable show keyboard button.
