I am running stock rooted rom 2.1.1 with the latest Plex app for android. However, it doesn't appear to see my Chromecast. All of my other Android devices with Plex installed can see it except for this Nook HD+.
Is it because it is rooted? Is it because of the nonstandard resolution of the HD+?
Does anybody else have issues seeing the Chromecast on Plex with Nook HD+

Has anyone gotten this to run on Nook Color? I'm stock (1.3) rooted. The app installs, lets me select a movie, says stream is loading and bounces me back to the movie selection stream.
How can I watch my movies now that the nook hd+ does not support it?
Is there a version of XBMC that can do hardware acceleration with Nook HD+?
My guess is "no". I've read posts on the XBMC forums about this issue with the Android build.
I have a Nook Tablet running CM 10.2 and my husband is using a Nook HD unrooted/stock. In both cases XBMC (Gotham 13.2) seems to run best with software decoding only and hardware acceleration unticked. This seems to give the best behavior for streaming (including live TV) and viewing previously downloaded files. At least that's been our experience.
I use MXplayer.
It supports hardware acceleration.
HW(hardware only) and HW+(hardware+software)
It may reduce battery drain.
Newest versions work well without need of using MX player
Those that have a ROOTED Chromecast, can you share the interesting things you Personally are doing with it.
What are your hopes NOW that you have your Chromecast rooted?
What are the latest developments and projects being done on the Rooted Chromecast?
There is thread on Rooting the Chromecast, this thread is all about what you are doing NOW with your rooted Chromecast.
For me, I like the cast "entire screen" via Chrome browser but it's still in experimental phase. I also like the idea of local file streaming by typing in "file://c:/" but it lags too much to watch any movies.
I just successfully upgraded my Nook HD+ to LN 14.1 (after Repit), though it seems a LOT laggier than I remember, overall function seems fine until I try Kodi (Krypton 17.6). Videos played by Mx Player, for example, play normally and in good quality. Any video attempted to be played by Kodi stutters and is choppy. This is true with either the only hardware accelerators MediaCodec and MediaCodec (Surface) enabled or disabled.
I would welcome any commentary on:
1. Has anyone on LN 14.1 got Kodi running well and how?
2. Do I need some sort of downloadable codec like the ARM 7 codec for the MX player?
3. Are there any solutions to the general lagginess of LN14.1 on the Nook HD+?
Thank you in advance for anyone who takes the time to respond, any and all thoughts would be appreciated.
