Blinkfeed on Galaxy S 5 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hi folks... I am kind of confused whether to go with HTC One M8 or Galaxy S5. The only thing that is stopping me from getting S5 is it misses the blink feed... from my perspective...
Is there a way i can side load it... DO i need to root the phone for this??? Need some help here!

It's supposed to get released to the app store at some point for anyone who wants it.

They have what's called My Magazine in place of Blinkfeed. However, for some reason, you can't add Facebook to it. It does allow for Twitter and Google+ though.

what about flipbook? Seems like it would be similar. Great app for sure, and I think its what the "My magazine" is based off of from what I read elsewhere.

My magazine sucks and its quite laggy. To the OP blinkfeed should be released soon by HTC and made available to non HTC devices.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

My magazines seems fairly worthless as you don't have as many feeds as you do with blinkfeed. Real limited on what you can have show up when compared to blinkfeed that has many different feeds you can have. Hope they fix that for now using blinkfeed and disable the magazine.

Google+ (NOT invites)

With the limited number of people actually using google+....what do those of you who are in think? Is it going to be the facebook killer? What do you like and not like? I'm dying to get in so I have to live through you at this point!

Definitely has potential. I prefer Facebooks layout but Google has the right idea.

So far I love it. Just wish it was open to everyone. Trying to pass out invites gets annoying

it looks cool. I got the app on my evo. Just waiting for an invite

Really digging a live chat function with the huddle. If someone types in the chat it vibrates and hits the status bar. Much better than andchat and irc!

Huddle is awesome. I've been waiting for a good group chat, and google delivered.
I dont know if G+ has the power to kill facebook. it has potential to be as great or better than FB, I definitely prefer it over FB. FB is a great service and i dont see it disappearing ever, much like i dont foresee Google disappearing.
The only issue i had to look for a while is the chat-function. But after 1 - 2 Minutes you'll get it.
G+ has some really nice features and works perfect on Nexus S!

I have discovered two bugs already. swype kb don't work when typing a comment or reply to one and uploading to g+ from gallery force closes the app

I tested uploading from Gallery myself and no app-crash or something like that. I'll try it again today and will give you some feedback.

Who do you follow on Google Plus?

I want to give Google+ another go - who do you follow that makes it worth visiting in the absence of any of my friends being on there?
Even though I love the way Google + works, none of my friends are there. Having said that I follow, Google, XDA, Shen Ye, IGN, and some other unknown people which Google thinks that they are interesting
Follow your devs, Android news pages and check the what's hot section. Google+ is full of sane people and there are almost no idiots.

Can someone please explain the difference between the "following" circle and any other circle? Is it meant so I can add people that I don't know?

Relatively. It's still the internet, though.

I just signed up a few nights ago, but i haven't done anything with it yet. I'm not even motivated. I'm not a big fan of social networks. So signing up was as far as I got, but most people I would consider following are already on XDA, and redundancy is something I'm trying to do away with in my life.
So, we'll see.

[APP] Most Handy App For Past Purchases. I LOVE This App!

So for a long time now android has lacked a primary feature that actually used to be there. In the market you cant filter out just your purchases. Ive been wondering what to do about this for quite a while now and I just came across an app that searches for all your purchased apps and displayes them in one list! Its wonderful!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.lowpingerz.mypurchases&hl=en
and better yet free
Looks handy

Anybody having issues with this app now as well. I purchased and then broke a few days later. Dev never did respond to an email I sent over a week ago. OH well, was nice while it lasted

Beware malicious emails

I just received this email from my wife (which her account seems hacked she's a iPhone user)
Linking me to a website that wants to download an app.
Name of apk
security.Update.Patch.apk
According to this http://www.techhive.com/article/254918/notcompatible_android_trojan_what_you_need_to_know.html
So be on the look out in your mail and not download anything or click on any links. Even from trusted emails.
Mods if this is in the wrong section key me know. Thank you

No ploy. Just putting the info out. As you can see by my info. Been on XDA for a couple years with plenty of devices. Just trying to put the that out. That website leads to info about the Trojan. Which I almost downloaded last night.

I hate it when people create a new thread for an existing topic. I think it makes it difficult for people to find useful information because it gets scattered amongst the different threads. It only happens when someone fails to search first or when they feel that their opinion is so important that they deserve to have their own thread. The mods should move the few useful posts to the existing thread and remove this one altogether.

I completely agree. However, you should get use to it, because it will happen more and more. A popular phone means it's going to be popular with the lazy and ignorant as well. The only thing to do is use the "report" button to notify the mods.
I've been a member for several years. I'm used to it, but it seems to be happening a little more often now. I know that the mods have a lot of ground to cover. I'm usually reading through Tapatalk, and I haven't seen an option to report.
