Hello guys ,, I just want to know which ROM for this phone is better in performance , BTW I am running the official CyanogenMod and it is very slow to a quad core device , I tried the unofficial one but I had no difference in performance , before that phone I was using Samsung galaxy S2 plus which is a dual core processor and I could admit that the S2 plus was faster than that lg 4X HD with its quad core processor .

There is no such thing as the best ROM. Try a few and decide which one suits you most as a daily driver. Comparing them is not an option as we care about every developer here.

Hi guys, I am considering buying a tab atm but want to know how fast it is with good MIUI and stock roms. The tabs I saw on display were extremely slow..
If anybody could give me a comparison to other phones, ill be thankful
Cheers!

Yeah, most of the Custom ROMs for the Galaxy Tab (Overcome as well as MIUI and CM7) do make the Tab run heaps faster. The single-core CPU will be noticeably slower than some of the newer dual-core hardware as apps continue to get more advanced, so the choice is yours. Still, I can attest that for the majority of use, my Tab running Overcome is more than speedy enough.

It is not fair to compare the original galaxy tab with the latest tabs available. And I should say it is really slow and sometimes force closes on the latest apps optimized for the latest tabs.
Remember it is more than 1 year old, and for today's technology is considered obsolete.
I would also like to add that despite of being old it is the only tablet that has complete phone functions integrated.
Is the speed comparable to a SGS?

As far as I know ROM, RAM, CPU & GPU is concerned, it essentially is an SGS.
hello, everyone, so my last phone broke down, so i need a new one and i was thinking about this phone. can anyone tell me or give me a link to the fastest rom for this phone thread and do games like gta 3 work on this phone? Thanks alot =)]
( im talking about galaxy s plus )
Is there even any ICS roms for Galaxy S+?
If you want dual core I'd go with the Galaxy S2 myself. It had alot better developer support and will get later versions of Android.

after a bit googling i found that nokia 808 pureview uses the videocoreIV bcm2763 gpu, same used by ace s5830i !!
i wonder then why ace with an "i" is nt capable of hd video recording..??!
also, nokia n8 uses the prior generation videocoreIII bcm2727 gpu ! still it is capable of recording videos at 720p even after having a slower processer than ace 5830i !
please somebody explain to me why galaxy ace 5830i is not capable of hd video recording?

I'd say that it's because they put the lowest amount of effort you possibly can to make the videocore compatible with android/linux. Just by looking at their kernels you can see it was just rushed. They are pushing a lot of updates nowadays, now that they released some raspberry pi drivers they are more focused on phones.
They are working on the gpu slowly I suppose. They say they will be releasing some EGL binaries (not sources...) soon, which will improve cyanogenmod compatibility and maybe 3d graphics performance
any idea when they will be releasing source..
i heared broadcom released it for galaxy y !
thank for the reply

They released very partial sources, however, they keep saying that they will release proper sources...
Pretty much anything compatible with the galaxy y can be ported to the s5830i without much effort though, I think the rafael baugis kernel already makes use of some of the sources released
so if they ralease proper sources...what change would it make ?!
i guess we would b able to use cm 9

there is already a working cm9 for galaxy ace (galaxy y port) but the colors are switched and camera doesn't work and there is a wi-fi fix for it so its pretty much usable.

Welcome to our forum .
Of course this is better , much better .
This is quad core nvidia tegra 3 with 4.7" IPS display , 8 mega camera .
This phone has many ROMs and Unbrick tutorials ,3D max doesn't have anything .
It is a very big difference between this phone and 3D max , and surely this is better .

For me I can't leave LG devices ,,
You are using a Samsung device , Samsung always updates their phones with latest android version , with LG you will miss that .
You choose your device by your opinion . Many people hate LG and some like LG . I buy LG for their low prices (in my country) and for my experience with LG Devices .
To choose a phone see its CPU (quad core > dual core > single core (">" means "greater than")) and its RAM (1GB > 512 MB > 256 MB ) and the UI (User Interface) .
The UI provides the biggest difference in the appearance of the OS (Opreating System) .
And don't forget screen , camera , thickness ...etc ,
I can't give you a specific device because I don't know what you like .

I searched the web and i see this : " Optimus 4x has one online core so it lags at every HD game."
I couldn't understand the meaning of " online core" ? I see 4 cores at tech. specs.
And I have one more question. Is it related with lag in the game?
online means only one of 4 cores are active. So it laggs, because the phone/kernel/rom only use one core. One Core is not enough for HD Games .Flash a Good Custom Rom.or.Kernel and they will make that more cores.are online.or you can set it.manually

i think it should relate to the problem when playing the stock kernel sometimes only uses one core. But i think this problem isn't present at costum kernels.

What about other 3 cores?
If LG doesn't use these 3 cores, why did they put these cores?
Are these 3 cores totally idled?

Official fixes from LG? im just waiting for a statement that says LG has officially stopped updating this device, beause it wont get 4.2 from official update, NEVER. the Jelly Beans came and it stopped there, Get CM, or some other up-to-date thing.
