Sorry for this thread, but here is all so quiet and in our final user's mind there is an only one question: porting from stock nexus s to Galaxy s is already started?
And if the answer is yes, is something possible or not?
Thanks and sorry for this thread in development section, but we all depend on you BIG MEN xD
Yeah, that's a good question. Some guy in twitter has already made it booting on HD2 (not to the gui thought), and all we have here is silence. I hope that devs are just too busy working on sgs port to made a topic on xda)

I think it doesn't make sense without sourcecode. It's a waste of time.
But we've started using code from nexus s kernel @ galaxy s on CM6.1.
Has someone tried flashing Bootloader from NS on SGS? xD
I think noone is working on the port yet.
Atleast curio is not (yet?). Didnt hear anything about other kernel maker.

Somebody will end up with an expensive brick trying it
In my opinion it makes sense to start the work now, we got the full dump, the kernel sources and the initramfs sources.
Since Nexus S and SGS are really similar I'm quite sure we have everything to have a bootable system. Promise I'll give it a try on weekend if nobody does it before. My plan is modify init.rc to boot system from our current /data partition mainly /data/system/ where should be the dump.
Since NS kernel cannot see our internal OneNand partitions for the moment, I guess the only solution for now is everything on Movinand, which may be slow but...
Oh i am so friggin waiting for a port to happen!
for the last week i am checking in evrey 10 minutes to hear whats knew about the portation.
but till this point nothing has happened yet :/
hope there will be soon a kernel-hero which will pick up this good piece of work.
bye
Do the SGS and NS have the same memory distribution? I know that one uses iNand and the other MoviNand for Data but is the configuration itself the same? Do they have the same amount of OneNand for instance, same amount of memory, etc?
I already tried a port.
It's booting but chashes after pin code enter.
and whitout sim it crashes at homescreen.
will give info if i got it working.

From what I've been reading both SGS and NS have 512mb OneNand and then 8/16 gb of MoviNand/iNand. I guess this should make conversion quite easy as long as drivers for the different components get adjusted to compensate small internals differences. If I'm not mistaken, drivers for the different components are included in the kernel and we already have source for the kernel. I guess it's just a matter of time but I'm hoping there are no showstoppers here.
I wish I could help out but I'm not even in the IT business... Best of luck and patience to the Devs!

It's with the drivers but it is not funcioning correctly right now.

Beceause the theme of the nexus S is really ugly and to much rounded.. i used the gingerbread theme for froyo and ported that in aswell. btw i will post more videos later
Nice Gingerbread theme!
Nice! But can't help noticing that it is slow. It's still early days though, hopefully all will be good in days coming. Looking forward to this.

I don't know, that vid is not really convincing...and why remove the Stock theme and replace it right away...doesn't that increase the risk of something going wrong?
No offence, but I'm putting this in my "fake" folder for now...
Hi,
I wanted to see Tux on my phone, so I tried to make framebuffer console working.
Here is the result: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IB7g6zTDQjs
As you can see, android boots up with it, and I did not find any bug once booted, but if you try to turn phone on with USB plugged-in, it will freeze - I think something in display driver is wrong or the driver itself is not intended to be used with fbcon. But when I just plug USB to phone when its turned off, it starts charging.
Modifications to kernel with my comments(its kernel for froyo, I tested GB kernel as well, but its pretty much the same): https://github.com/Tasssadar/kernel/commit/b1c614341dbc04ec1ace604f0b4903944dd8aa9d
Kernel command line: console=tty0,115200 androidboot.hardware=thunderg fbcon=font:VGA8x8,rotate:1 mem=471M no_console_suspend=1
ZIP for recovery(for froyo ROMs): http://www.multiupload.com/NQQ1YKN6K8 - dont forget to make nandroid backup, it will replace whole boot partition, so re-flashing your kernel wont help.
Did anybody play with this already? Maybe solved the driver bug?
i dont understabnd what is this
very nice for debug ... sometimes we realy need this!!!
omg, this is soo cool =D cant help ya but i will try to make one of that for me =)
https://github.com/Tasssadar/kernel/commit/49ff95225eb724926434adaaa8abcd9a53c9b29b - makes it much faster, but without rotation. Or you can just turn off logo and rotation, result will be the same thing.
Working..
Ex.how to uninstall?
Flash your kernel again (that way you will see just black screen instead of logo) or restore from your nandroid backup, which I am sure you have.

You guys should really let the users install it. It says it the topic title [DEV], the idiot who will install this and not know what it's used for is simply "stupid".
With fbcon log + camera(coolest debug log ever) I finally managed to make dual-boot working - I have one rom in the internal memory and another one on ext partition on SD card. It is however kinda tricky to make it working properly, would you like to see some dev topic with this or you think its useless?
AFAIK (correct me please) this displays kernel infos,so it's kinda useful to fserve, mik and others. However,I'll try to do that with mik's sources. I'll post it if you guys want.

This is a general discussion thread for "Cyanogen Mod 10 (CM10)" for the Sony Xperia T (LT30p) aka "Mint"
Original Dev Thread Here
This is NOT for cm10.1 (4.2+ JB). A discussion thread for 10.1 is HERE
Credit to FXP team Bin4ry, Defer, Kali, Jerpelea
Also credit is due to many other Devs for their tireless work on CM and specifically for Sony devices including but not limited to:
Codeworkx, Androxyde, DoomLord, tilal6991, Entropy512....This list could go on but I'll stop here for now - pm me if you think i should add specific people.! (I don't actually know who all these wonderful people are!!!)
I have mailed people from time to time and found everyone here at XDA to be very helpful, but I have also seen people asking the same questions as me, just in the wrong places or without searching.
So this thread, like any other of it's kind, is just to try and direct a bit of this traffic away from the Development thread.
Please use this thread to ask questions, share knowledge or just state an opinion - so long as you are not inconsiderate, condescending or outright rude - anything goes!
We would all welcome insights and advice from seasoned users or indeed veteran developers, although FXP will most likely not read this often, if ever - so please don't ask them direct questions here!
Personally I don't know much at all about CM10, I am only on my 2nd smartphone having come from an Xperia X10 running CM7.2 - so I hope to learn stuff here too!
Thread Basics:
~~can I install this rom with a locked Bootloader~~ ~~NO~~
~~can you tell me when **** will be fixed~~ ~~NO~~
~~slow download, can you mirror?~~ ~~NO~~
~~can i use sony launcher/timescape/fb intergration on this ROM~~ ~~NO~~
~~can I ask a question?~~ ~~YES~ as someone once told me "Posing a question per se is not stupid. Posing a stupid question is"
Always back-up your current ROM
Nobody here is responsible if you mess your bond phone up, all ROM's, even the best ones, are used at YOUR OWN RISK
Logs, Screen shots, ROM version, apps used or conditions underpinning any questions usually result in quicker answers!
Please comment or mail me with any ideas to improve this thread, it's my 1st real attempt at trying to contribute in some small way to this wonderful community
FAQ:
1 where can I download the latest FXP release? download page on FXP site
2 How do I install? FIRST TIME : Follow this instruction
information about flashtool, fastboot, cwm recovery are widely available. you could Start here
__ 2.a If you already have unlocked your bootloader (which you will need to have done to use CM10 Duh!) AND already have a working Recovery, you only need to use the "install from SD card" option in recovery to install this Rom - thanks to schaggo for pointing this out. However:
__ 2.b It is known that if you are coming from a Stock based ROM you will probably need to format your SD card(s), apart from being time consuming this is not a big deal - just have a back-up of your card contents on your computer, format your card(s) from within the rom or with recovery, then copy your contents back to your card(s)
3. Where do I get Gapps? Try here, you need a 4.1 apps file
4. What is CM, where can I find out about it? Start here and use google for further information.
5. Where can I find more info about FXP? Here is their homepage
6. Where is the Changelog? Here, lists current release and progress for all supported devices
7. How do I report a bug? Here, device, release and issue will be useful information

Good initiative! I installed CM10 after one month of using original ROM and after almost 2 weeks of CM10 I can say it was a wise decision. I am on FXP 150 and most of the issues are fixed. Still waiting for NFC (though I don't have the tags yet) but everything else is OK. What I miss is the original Album app of Xperia T from latest firmware. I tried to install it but it's not working for me (run the installer, the app is not seing the sd card, through CWM or copy to /system/app and changing the permissions, the app stops). Anyone tried? Any hints on how to make it working?
Battery is OK but I am using Google maps that is eating 40-50% of it. Any hints on how to decrease this and still use Maps?

have you formatted your SD card for use with CM? I read that people were having problems with ext.sd card storage and that you needed to back-up your files, wipe and format card in cwmRecovery and then transfer your files back - then you should be able to move apps to SD

Hello all.
Quick question about flashing the kernel.
When I first installed the rom I used the fastboot.exe in command prompt to install the boot.img file as per instruction on op.
Am I right in thinking if there's an update to the kernel I don't need to go through that process again because it will be flashed in cwm with the rom? Or will we be told to flash the new kernel using fastboot.exe in the changelog?
Cheers,
Lunar.

You usually are told when there is a new kernel to flash, changelog will say something about kernel update.
Cwm does not flash kernel, only Rom

Thanks for the info.
I just thought I remembered when I had the x10 the fxp were trying to work out a way of flashing kernels without flash mode. It was quite a risky process though.
Also it looked like fxp151 had a different boot.img to the one included in fxp148 (the first one I flashed), so I flashed the boot.img again from the later release and it had 141212 as the date.
Maybe just me.
Cheers for the info.

Auf few questions:
Fxp is not official Cm10 right?
Where is the official thread with a buglist / changelog of the stable Cm10 Version for example?
On get.cm I can download nightlies every day and the stable version too but I have no idea who is working on it and how the process is going...
I'm a bit confused since I thought codeworkx and others own this phone and are working in Cm10 support??

So I cant post in the development section yet so I guess I have to put this here for now.
I installed Omar-Avelar's lovely ROM, and followed the instructions to the letter. (Wipes etc)
However my gallery seems to be having some issues.
The 4.2 camera works fine and I can view the images in the gallery, but when I try to edit a photo I get an error that states that the "gallery3d" process has stopped working.
I assume this is my fault but I have not been able to find any help through the search feature on xda or in the ROM's thread despite there being lots of stuff regarding the normal gallery.
Do I need to reflash the entire rom or just the gallery app?
I've included a SS to display the error.
If I have posted in the wrong place or done something wrong let me know.
