Hello,
I had rooted S4 Active (i9295) wit FW4.2.2 and wanted to flash stock 4.3. FW, then OTA to 4.4. I have several experiences with flashing FW. I think I'm on built MF3, but now I'm not sure now. My steps, that soft-bricked device:
-I unrooted phone in SuperSU, made factory reser and wiped cache
-I downloaded "I537UCUBML2" (4.3) Released 2014-01-07 - OFFICIAL
-Putted all files into ODIN 3.09 (BL,AP,CS,CSC), pressed Start
-Imediately FAIL! appeared in ODIN and this on display
START [224, 1440]
SECURE CHECK FAIL : PIT
When I turn it on, there is no logo, just blackscreen. But I can still go to download mode and recovery.
I dont know what to do now
Please, I will really appreciate your help...
Thank you very much!
You flashed wrong fw for your device. You have int. Galaxy active, not the at&t version. Sorry mate

Okay so I first rooted my 4.4.2 at&t g900a s5 with towelroot successfully. I then flashed a lollipop firmware with flashify directly from my phone and that firmware came with root. I didnt like lollipop so I flashed my orginal firmware (4.4.2) through odin and ended up sort of bricking my s5. When I turn it on, it goes in boot and makes the screen black and has a blue LED on top that stays on forever. I fixed the problem with this website:
http://www.galaxys5update.com/fix-black-screen-with-pulsating-blue-led-on-galaxy-s5-g900a/
I followed the steps and flashed the partition one first and got to the boot screen of the s5 and it had the lock symbol and said "custom" and paused there forever. I tried the modem one after it, but then the EXACT same thing happened with the partition one. All I want is to go back to stock or to lollipop or whatever, just a working phone. I tried factory resetting and wiping cache but nothing worked. PLEASE HELP ASAP

Go to the OP and scroll to the notes section on post #1. In step 5 it has the NCE downgrade firmware. As long as you didn't take the OTA, the downgrade firmware will fix you. Flash it with odin 3.09 in the AP slot.

I was having the same problem that OP had and your solution just saved me! Thank you so much!!! :good:
In the process of rooting my Galaxy S5 I ended up soft-bricking my phone so that it's now in a bootloop. At this point I just want to restore the phone to factory default but I'm having issues doing so.
The issue came when I tried to flash a ROM onto my device using Odin3 which was successful but then, on restart, I got this bootloop. I've now tried a few different ways to fix.
I've:
Cleared cache partition and user data
Tried to use Odin v3.10 to flash stock for different builds (G900VVRU1BOD5, G900VVZW1BOC4,G900VVZW1BOA8) (I believe the phone was on G900VVRU1BOD5 before the bootloop)
I was also stupid and didn't do a backup beforehand.
This thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53454972) seems to suggest that I need to flash the CP and CSC along with the AP but I haven't been able to locate these files.
Any help would be appreciated!
Errors
I guess I forgot to mention that when I attempt to flash the stock firmware I get a FAIL! (Auth) error from Odin almost immediately no matter which ROM I try.
I had this problem. After days of fighting it I went into the stock recovery and did a factory data reset and that fixed it.

are you trying to flash a ATT stock rom to your Verizon Phone??
Thanks for the replies. I have stock BL and I've tried the reset there and it hasn't helped.
I have a Verizon S5 and am using Verizon stock firmware. Looks like I accidentally posted this in the ATT S5 general section. Sorry...
Edit: Problem solved.
To preface all of this, I understood the risks I was taking. I may have accidentally messed something up due to my own error and I understand this. The end.
I have the SM-T810 model. First I flashed the Permissive Lollipop 5.1.1 kernel through Odin along with the TWRP recovery. All went well. I made a backup through TWRP. Tablet worked perfectly upon reboot.
Then I went to flash the Optimal Rom according to the directions:
"1. Download ROMzip to your SD Card
2. BACKUP YOUR CURRENT ROM - I cannot stress this enough. Don't ask why, just do it.
3. You will need to flash the firmware package in ODIN that matches the base of the current ROM, located in post 3 here
4. Flash ROMzip in recovery
5. Reboot"
So Before flashing the ROMzip in recovery, I flashed the provided firmware package in ODIN, "810_oh7_fw_BigBot96.tar.md5" This is where Odin failed and things got messed up.
After restarting the tab it gets stuck at the "Galaxy Tab S2" logo screen. At the top in red letters it reads "Kernel is not seandroid enforcing."
I am still able to get into recovery, which I factory resetted, wiped, formatted, the whole nine yards in a million different combinations. Afterwards I would restore the backup I created earlier (which always appears to be successful), however when I go to reboot from recovery TWRP tells me there is no OS installed and goes back to being frozen at the boot logo. Weird.
Whenever I try to flash stock from Odin, the images provided on these forums, it fails
"<ID:0/005> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/005> boot.img
<ID:0/005> FAIL!
<ID:0/005>
<ID:0/005> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)"
Where did I go wrong? I may have accidentally forgot to run odin as administrator, maybe that was it? If anyone has any questions I'll be glad to answer and I appreciate any help that I can get. Thanks.
I would guess that the stock ROM you try to flash has an older bootloader version than the ROM you had flashed before. The bootloader is not downgradeable.
So look for a 5.1.1 stock ROM with a "2B" in the version number ( a canadian and some other version is available). Then Odin should flash it just fine.

I have a feeling you are right, since I am able to flash other things through odin on the tab (like the custom kernel), just not the stock rom. Also, I just recently bought the tablet and stupidly updated it immediately upon unboxing, so I probably do have a newer bootloader. If anyone knows where I can get a newer stock ROM I would be very grateful.

It should be available on SamMobile. Also when flashing your twrp backup make sure you are restoring system.
Lastly you don't need to flash the firmware package just the rom as you are already updated by the looks of things.
So just find the latest stock firmware then flash that then the rom.

Thanks for the tips. Would a newer 5.0.2 ROM possibly have the newer bootloader, or would I need to find a 5.1.1 ROM which is what I had previously installed? Having trouble finding a 5.1.1 ROM
Wow that was stupid of me. I never tried flashing the Optimal ROM itself because I initially freaked out after flashing the firmware. My tablet is back in action with Optimal ROM

No worries, thanks button is above. ?
This post will be short and straight to the point. I was running a pre-rooted Lollipop rom on my Galaxy S5 G900A through FlashFire since it has a locked bootloader. However, I recently decided to downgrade and mistakenly flashed the device with a 4.4.2 stock rom. I flashed with odin using the AP, CP, and CSC tar tiles that have been successful in the past. After flashing, the device DOES go into recovery mode or download mode, but freezes at the Samsung logo. Ive searched far and wide on the web for any solution and have not found a single thread of hope.
Device Specs:
Samsung Galaxy S5 AT&T (sadly)
SM-G900A
Problem:
Was running Pre-Rooted Lollipop rom 5.0\ I Factory reset on Recovery Mode\ On Down. Mode I flashed with Odin the 4.4.2 files (AP,CP,CSC)\ Resulted in device stuck on samsung logo and blue LED stays on.
All help is appreciated.

Have you tried the 5.0 by flashing the: G900A_OC4_Stock_Partitions in AP from http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...w-to-unbrick-flash-to-stocknce-g900a-t3077652

I have a S5 Active that was rooted on 5.0 and I tried to unroot through SU and factory restore. Now im stuck at the at&t logo. I've downloaded just about every file and tried upgrading to 5.1.1 downgrading and nothing works. I know this is a long shot but is there anything i can do?
edit- tried flashing bootloader MD5 but odin keeps failing. Recovery says LRX21T.G870AUCU1BOC5

When that happened to me, I used muniz's methods to fix my G870A. Here's the link:
http://www.droidviews.com/update-att-galaxy-s5-active-to-lollipop-root-it-and-enable-wifi-tethering/
Before doing anything, try flashing the bootloader MD5 file using Odin, that could be the problem. If that doesn't work,go ahead and download the STOCK firmware for the G870A and flash it. This will take you back to 4.4.2 KK, but you can easily use muniz's method after that to get either rooted or unrooted Lollipop. Good luck!
