Dot View - warning, bt voice dialing broken.
It just cancels listening as soon as it hears "call."
Taking the case off fixes the problem. Opening the case fixes the problem.
That makes no sense... Can someone verify this problem?
It is not true on my phone. It works with the case. I am running rooted stock rom.
it works here aswell.. love the case. no isues whatsoever.
Doesn't work on mine.
Clearly we use different settings or apps.
I'm not making this up.

This happened to me as well. If I reset the phone it would fix it temporaly.

Make sure Animator duration scale is turned on. The voice dialer will work fine with the Dot View case.

I'm sorry, what is Animator duration scale, and where do you turn it on?

Go to Settings then Developer Options. Scroll down to Advanced. Under Animation, be sure Animator duration scale is not off. I use .5x and voice dialer works great.

This may be only on my phone but just wanted to share that the phone dialpad does not show if you have "Animator Duration Scale" to 0 so I set it to 0.5x which is still annoying. "Window animation scale" and "transition animation scale" set to 0 seems to be fine. Weird bug took me 3 resets to figure out. Anyway, hope this helps some nexus 4 users.
Tried to reproduced it but couldn't do so.. Dial pad showed up even after i set animator duration scale to 0

Weird, maybe it's just me. I also have google art set and the animator duration scale does require a reboot to take effect.

Interesting. The first time I hit the dialpad button, a small part of the screen went white, but no dialpad appeared. Subsequently, the dialpad appears every time. All of my animations have been set to 0 for a long time (it's the first thing I do when I get a new phone).
If I hit the recent apps button and swipe the dialer closed, then launch the dialer again, the problem comes back. Again, after the first time, the dialer appears every time.
What an odd bug. Well spotted! I make so few phone calls I doubt this will bother me much, but I do hope it gets fixed in the .1 release.

Yeah that's the same thing that happened to me and I always swipe the phone app close. Glad I'm not the only one.
Is there still no fix yet? I wonder why this bug doesn't recieve much attention.

Fresh reboot then open dialer (not cached) and you'll see.

Hi, like the title says. I tried Notification Slider by Seveilith, but it doesn't seem to work on the 3T. More specifically i just want completely silent on one (excluding alarms), vibrate (excluding alarms) on another, and normal ringing on the last. I don't care about priority settings or those kinds of things. But I don't really want to root (I don't miss much), since I'd lose OTA.
What all allows you to do this with root? And not needed xposed? I am rooted but do not want to install xposed
I'm rooted with exposed and tried many ways to modify this annoying slider with zero success. It's the only thing I dislike about this phone. Custom Roms will eventually fix it even if OnePlus doesn't.

Isn't that exactly what you have now? This is how mine works:
Upper: Vibrate only.
Middle: DND, alarms only.
Lower: Normal, ringtone + vibration.

Well you can change that pretty easily by going to the slider settings.
Settings > Alert Slider > Silent > Enable Vibration
I miss vibrate mode only too. I hope there is coming a app or xposed module.

Yes and no
Sure you can turn in vibration but everything else is silent then. Example. If I put my slider in upper I get NO notifications to my android Wear. None at all.

That's kind of strange. I feel like that's more what DND is supposed to do. I guess you could always enable the "silence phone when watch is connected"-setting in Android Wear as a workaround.

When I set the middle one, it seems like it can't turn down ring to zero, the lowest it will go is one step before. This leads me to think they don't want it to be completely silent/only vibrate. I can't take a screenshot because it keeps disappearing when I do the three finger swipe, but try it.

That's only because it defaults to changing the alarm volume in DND mode.
Have you tried this feature. Lights up the screen when you receive any notification.. You can set it to other colors..

I've been playing around with this myself, doesn't appear like there is any customization to this which I wish there was to extend the time it stays on screen. Also it doesn't seem to work if you use custom texting apps for example.
Yeah it would have been nice to customize the colors, duration (time and repeat), and which notifications. Really like it though. I've missed a flashing status light to get my attention.

You're right its factory set colors. Kinda lame
Any color with this app
Even rainbow!

There's a few of those apps, and this one worked best for me! I stopped using it (uninstalled) though, too much battery drain!

Go to notification settings on the custom texting app, importance, urgent. That should activate the blue frame. Worked for me on the Signal text app.
useless in the dark?
It almost makes up for the lack of Notification LED.
My only issue with this feature is that it only works when the AOD is on... so it is useless at night or in the dark.
I haven't figured out how to keep the AOD on while in the dark, I feel the phone vibrate but you have to press the power button a couple of times to wake up the V40. Anyone else having a similar issue? is there a setting?

Come to find out my issue is with the screen protector. It doesn't have a notch at the top, just holes for the cameras and speaker, and a clear spot for the sensor between the cameras... but that's not enough. So when there is not enough light, the sensor thinks it's in the pocket and the screen goes dark... and no knock to un-lock.

Yes, KnockON is enabled under "Extensions". I've found that knock or fingerprint don't work if the sensor in the front is covered. Only the power button.

Hey guys give this a try, I hate AOD and I'm disappointed this phone has no LED. But I traded this phone for my Mate 10 Pro so it's alright.

Using this with Textra. This is pretty cool!
Screen locked.
Phone call comes in.
I can't just let the phone continue to ring and do anything else in the meantime, like unlock to the home screen.
Any way to change this?

Yes, you can. On the incoming call screen, just swipe on the edge panel (you have to have it enabled) and choose whatever app you want from the list. It will open up in multi-window mode, with the incoming call screen in the other window. Keep using the app while the phone rings away
Attaching some screenshots I took for you.

At least OneUI lets you do this. I'm not aware of any other phone manufacturer who has an option to do anything on the phone with an ongoing incoming call screen. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hmmm..Pixel is my only other Android experience. I don't remember what it used to do.
I don't know/remember what iPhone does either.
It's the fact that we let go of those navigation and home buttons, I guess.

Even with the home button (physical or virtual), you cannot dismiss an incoming call screen altogether without taking some action like accepting or rejecting the call. I've tried this on iPhone as well as Android from various manufacturers. Amongst the phones I've personally used, Samsung is the only stock firmware that gives you a work-around in this matter.
Having used the phone for a week now, no major issues, but just one thing annoying me.
Some apps' notification are not received when my screen is off. Once I wake up my phone, the messages are then received and shown. But some apps (like WhatsApp, Messages) are working fine.
I've checked all the battery optimization settings for those affected apps but had no clues why they are not working the way they should. These apps are working fine in my other devices.
Appreciate any suggetsions.
Sounds like what I experience with OnePlus phones...something they did to make the battery last longer between charging cycles. Not much you can do. If they allowed background apps to work as we wish they would the battery life would stink and people would complain and sales would drop.
In my experience this depends on the system mode you select under settings/battery. For me in the dynamic mode notifications appear without delay, but some appear only when I turn on the screen in the durable mode.

Thanks. I've been using dynamic mode and even tried high performance mode, but still the same issue.
It's a setting from security and lockscreen. Press the clog at the right of screen lock. There you have a setting called notifications on lockscreen. Set it to show all notifications
Disable adaptive notifications. This should fix the issue.

no, it's not related to whether notification is showing in lock screen or not. the symptom is that only when i wake up the phone, the notification will then be received. i can see from the firewall log that google service framework accessed data as soon as the phone is awake.
