How can I disable volume button activating torch? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Love my M7, EXCEPT the fact with the screen off I keep triggering the flashlight via volume up......and my phone warms up and my battery fades fast. Can anyone tell me how to disable? I'm running viper's Rom and gravitybox.
Thanks

This is a regression in 4.2 and is extremely frustrating as I love the "power button to end call" option but it renders the phone useless on speakerphone.
They should allow for the volume rockers to wake the phone on phones without physical home buttons.
I had the same issue with my one x, I'm not sure it's even an issue, more a consequence of using that feature. The volume rocker has got to control volume in a call so we can't really use it to wake it up. I agree it's really annoying but just change back.

It's quite easy to throw in a "screen off" clause to the code to first wake the device if the screen is off and then control the volume.

There's been a response to this problem:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/mobile/ZlDsNF3gdHs/6_kfdv1w91cJ
The workaround is to wake the phone through connecting it to a charger.
I never noticed this problem on the S2 but it's bang in my face on the Nexus 4.
I wonder if there is a third party app that will keep the phone awake during a call?

I am having the same issue. I have turned off the pwr saving option. Turned up the vibration intensity, I have installed third party volume control applications. Its almost like the thing completely stopped working. Can anyone provide any suggestions?
Wow. Lol. This sucks. Did u guys try a simple reboot after toggling the power saver mode a couple times? Good luck.

Try going to:
Settings, device, sound, vibration intensity. Make sure notifications slider is up.

Ringer volume change with screen off

Well this is usually not a problem but I had the slim armor case on and the buttons are very sensitive. Wouldnt be the end of the world except even with the screen off this phone changes ringer volume if the vol buttons are pressed. Anyone else think this is goofy and it should only change media volume with the screen off?

It shouldn't do that unless you have Use Volume Keys to Wake on. Is the screen being turned on too?

No screen stays off. I posted in the zen kernel thread to make sure it wasn't the kernel (new version just released today), someone said that is stock ROM behavior. Can someone with a stock ROM double check?

I'm running stock 5.1 LMY47D and the ringer volume does change when the volume buttons are pressed while the screen off. However, the volume buttons do nothing when the screen is off and the phone is locked.
I too have this issue and I cannot seem to get rid of it no matter what I do. It only happens when using the "none" lockscreen.
Grab volume locker from the play store. The only back draw is that it doesnt work if connected to BT

Volume rocker question

The case I have for my Nexus works great for a cheaper holster style case with one exception, my phone fits in nice and snug but presses on the volume rocker. When this happens it changes the ringer volume and beeps. I am not using a screen lock so this is very frustrating. My question is this, is there a way to disable the volume rocker after setting the volume or any software to do this? I have searched but not had much luck finding anything.
Thanks

There are several volume locker apps on the Play Store. Basically they make you confirm any volume change or they reset it back to where it was.

Note 9 volume decrease button

Can someone help pls, after the update, my volume rocker is glitching when I use the earphones, the volume doesn't change at all, and then after removing it the reduce volume rocker doesn't work , restarting the device works but then same problem comes back
Maybe you have another app interfering? Do you have bxactions or another button remapping app installed?
You could boot to safe mode and see if the problem persists. That will tell you if it's related to a 3rd party app or not.
