Has anyone else noticed the 4.3 update made your one slow ? and xda app is crashing im headed back to 4.1.2 until the bugs are worked out
It seems the same to me. Not slower but not faster either. I haven't tried the xda app because I use tapatalk

Crap. I was hoping for better news. HTC promised a fix and apparently delivered a half baked version of a fix. Less tint isn't a fix. Thanks for sharing though.
Mine runs better but then again i am still locked. Judging by the OP going back to 4.1 i bet he flashed it on his own, which probably accounts for a large amount of the issue.
Mine is noticeably faster. The xda app has been god awful since the last update, so that is not due to 4.3.

Mine runs great. XDA app sucks. I'm stock unrooted and locked so yeah.
Sent from my HTCONE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No problems here! enjoying the update! Also not rooted or unlocked.
Don't use the XDA app, but everything seems good for me. Completely stock, not rooted. Longest I've ever kept a phone this way, and if I can find a way to tether without root, I don't know that I'll feel the need to for a long while.
i didn't flash the update i went back to stock and then updated to 4.3 ... im s-off so i just went back to 4.1.2
I'm not rooted or unlocked. Never have been in this phone. I'm noticing faster than normal battery drain and a laggier scrolling experience if you will. Phone still flys, but not what I expected.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
No issues. Actually much better as far as power saving. Much faster. More responsive. Sea never crashes for me. Stock unrooted not s off. Just updated. I haven't found one real need to s off yet.

My battery drained faster today then normal by about 2 hrs
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
did it last afternoon, and then did a factory reset. I didn't see any power drain problem, maybe even better, but the signal strength seems to be lower, which according to others might just been the data signal strength.
I noticed the laggy scroll too.. and transitions back to the home screen
I'm having an annoying issue. I keep my phone on vibrate most of the time but like to turn off the vibrate function in apps like Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, etc so I don't get a vibration when someone tweets me, emails me, etc. Since the update, it still vibrates when the box isn't checked. Can anyone try to replicate? Thanks

my battery drains faster for sure... now we need some kernel source so Thicklizard can cook up a beast kernel!! i was getting crazy godd battery life with his kernel.. best kernel i ever ran on any phone.. :good:
No problems here either. Runs great. Stock, locked, and unrooted.

Mine is considerably worse now. I went into pizza hut tonight with 100% battery. We were in there like an hour and a half and when I checked my phone when leaving it was at 88%. It was in my pocket the entire time.
As I'm typing this I'm at 64% with 4hrs and 3 minutes of very light usage. 1 hr of screen on time...

I have never had any issues with my phones having battery struggle and this is my 5th android phone. That is why I posted the question because it was very bizarre for me not to have great battery life. I was simply asking the question to see if anything has been said about an update or some type of fix other than the typical "battery saving" answers

Make sure Google Play Services is updated. Rumors were that there was a bug in the release version causing battery drain.

I loved my note 2 but I was expecting note 3 to make me more happier, first the boot loader is locked which has already pissed me off. Then so many other issues google map voice was on s voice then it got fixed now WiFi is not working properly then as a business man I need my phone to ring whenever someone needs my service but when it is in my pocket for whatever reason it goes on silence mode and so many other things that is giving me enough reasons to sell it and buy note 2.
Just wanted to share my experience here. The phone is fast but I would still prefer note 2

I thought about going back to a note 2 also when I fist got the ATT note 3. What you should really do is sell your ATT note 3 and buy yourself a T-Mobile note 3, then root, unlock using chain fires region unlock (3 bucks) throw your ATT sim in the tmo phone, change your APN's to ATT and flash what ever you want. This phone has been rock solid for me in every way since I switched to a tmo phone on ATT network.

I agree. When my Note 3 isn't being used, the battery depletes at just 1-2% per hour. That's stock/unrooted, nothing done about bloatware, WiFi and GPS enabled, no power-saving modes used.

I agree. Mine used to be that nice. I can not figure out what's going on. I've uninstalled just about everything..it seems to happen when my signal is weak but android os is strange way to report it. Plus my signal has always been weak at work but this android os/battery drain is only about a week old. It started when I rooted using kingo.
Something during that process or something they have hidden is killing my phone...I'm on m19 so not possible to return to stock.

You should try putting it in airplane mode for a while (when your not expecting any important calls or texts) and see if the drain remains. Or else unroot and do a factory reset.

Gsam, better battery stats, wakelock detector, carat. It seems to be when my signal is weak. I'm good right now but I'm on wifi/lte. When I get back to work..it drops.

You are so right bro, this would be a good lesson for me to wait little longer and not buy a phone which can not be optimized the way I like it.
Nexus 5 and back to note 2,would be my options but I am also thinking about s5 which is around the corner.

I have times when the battery drains faster than others and I'm pretty sure it's because the phone is switching between 3g and lte constantly while at work where the lte signal is weak. When I'm away from work battery drainage is just fine. Do you have a weak lte signal making the device constantly switch frequencies?

Yeah, that's pretty extreme. My battery's been discharging for almost 3 hours, and my Android OS shows 15% usage, CPU total 5m29s, Data sent 24.90KB, Data received 337KB. Stay Awake isn't even listed for it.

I wouldn't wait on the s5, unless it's with another carrier. It's going to be locked down just like the note 3. Heck pretty soon we won't need an AT&T section on xda anymore.

I am gonna wait for s5 to come out and pay the full price and forget about Att. I agree with you there would no Att section on xda since Att sucks. It pisses me off to check the other carriers note 3 section and how they enjoy customizing it and here we are stuck on att 's B.....SH.....T

How long have you had the rom? If you recently flashed then you need to let it sit for a day for the rom to settle. Learned that with the Dynamic Kat ROM.
If not, open the battery graph and check your wake time vs screen on time. A friend of mine had this issue on his S4 a while back. Clearing the cache and rebooting the phone worked for me. Worst case is you reflash the ROM.

That really sounds like a bit of voodoo. A ROM doesn't need to "settle" with regard to power usage.
Hey, that's what I was told in the DK thread, they said to let the rom settle for a couple of days. The first day I flashed the rom I was getting 4 hours of screen on time, three days later I started getting 6 hours of s.o.t. They had an explanation as to why this occurs but I forget what they said.
If you don't trust that, try recalibrating the rom by downloading an app that deletes the battery stats file.
Sent from my SM-N900A using XDA Free mobile app
I have heard that ROMs need time to settle many times. That is a myth. Resetting battery stats does nothing except erase battery stats. There is no calibration.
On your battery settings click on the graph this time. See how your network connection is. Could be an issue where you lose your connection and the phone consumes the battery searching for a network connection.
Also did you add anything new lately like an app or an email account?

Something's running keeping your phone awake. Try Wakelock detector to track that down. Also try the carrier iq thread idk what it does seems it fixed stuff for people and made their phone sleep better. Most of the time it's an app. I dont use greenify but people use it to hibernate user apps that run in background.

It seems that Android System uses a really high amount of battery, and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas, or would know how to find out.
My battery lasts around 5 hours anymore, doing the same thing I used to do when it lasted 17+.
Any help would be super appreciated.

I noticed that on 4.3, yeah, the phone radio was the biggest consumer of battery, butconsidering your usage, perhaps screen usage should be greater. Regardless, you're getting 4SOT/23.5SBY which is far better than I'm getting (2.5/14) on KK. lol
If you think about it, if nothing is waking your device, the phone radio is the only thing using power during sleep. So I guess it makes sense.
How about this? Supposing it has to do with the end of charge mechanic of the cpu, but it's worth a check.
Perhaps the battery is just going bad, after a year?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app.
Any other ways I could see what's causing such a drain on the battery? I fear pretty soon keeping it plugged in won't even give it charge enough to stay on.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app.
Or maybe something about this may help figure it out? I put it in Airplane Mode while charging and it didn't seem to make a difference in the rate at which it charged.
Could that possibly narrow down the cause?

Well that's a bit extreme. You need Google Services for a lot of things, and that app is central to the android experience.

tbh it's hard to tell. I would say do a TI backup and flash something fresh. If you like JB, I think viper 3.5 is good for you.
You could also try calibrating your battery. I did it, and it seems to have had, at the very least, a slight placebo effect .
