[4.3] Official Stock Roms - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Before our phone was officially updated to Android 4.3, Samsung would usually release new 4.1.2 roms with an increasingly higher changelist...
But since our phone was updated to 4.3, Samsung keeps releasing new roms but only the ones from Hong Kong have a higher changelist
For example, the latest release was built in march and has the same changelist of the first 4.3 stock rom for our phone... And there have already been released 2 Hong Kong roms that have a higher changelist (these are the only 4.3 roms with a higher changelist than the first 4.3 rom).
You can check more at Samsung Updates.
Isn't this strange from Samsung? I mean, Hong Kong roms always had a higher changelist but there isn't a single non-HK stock 4.3 rom with a higher changelist than the first 4.3 stock rom ever. Does anyone know anything on this subject?

Why would they bother when 4.4 is due

Though I'm running I9305ZHUCNB1 on my UK i9305 without issue

But 4.4 isn't officially confirmed for our phone... Although it would be stupid not to update it.
Besides, when 4.3 was due, the changelist would improve anyways. Samsung would first release a Hong Kong rom with a higher changelist, and a few days/weeks later a "normal" rom with that changelist would be released...

Samsung released OTA Update for Galaxy Note

It’s not a major update to Android 4.0 as its expected by everyone but it’s a minor update so called schedule update. OTA update is always appreciated since these days and in most cases it provides features and enhancements to smartphones along with fixing bugs.
http://androidadvices.com/samsung-released-ota-update-galaxy-note-flash-torch/
So i downgraded my device from this firmware - N7000OXALA4 Germany ( recently both a new one) to N7000XXKJ4_N7000XENKJ2_N7000XXKJ4 just for the rooting functionality.. and run the OTA from 2.35 to 2.3.6 buildnr. XXKKA / N7000XXKK5
Last but not the least; Samsung has modified Android OS in accordance to add numbers while using the keyboard on Galaxy Note. Galaxy Note being a large size Android phone, it has ample space left and thereby with this update you will see number keys on the top of the letter keys.
With this rom N7000OXALA4 Germany after OTA i do have the numbers on top.
But with the current, XXKJ4 Dutch, OTA did not make the change for my keyboard, ( i did look into keyboard settings after flash ) all other improvements are there, i like this keyboard, so my question how to get it in the current installation? 2.3.6 buildnr. XXKKA / N7000XXKK5
Do you have this problem seen before? please tell me and i like to stay on this version, but if there is no other way...
Flashed several times and even older firmware to see how the OTA make improvement, it worked on the 3 other go but it seems not give me the keyboard with this rom? Help

[Q] Is XXLRQ the latest official version? Is 4.1.1 coming?

I am considering buying a Samsung Galaxy Note (UK) next week.
Is the German XXLRQ (4.0.4) (that apparently also works in English) ROM currently the latest official build for the Note?
Will 4.1.1 be officially released by Samsung? If not, are the unofficial 4.1.1 ROMs worth using?

latest is LRT after LRQ. For official JB check this and this.
unofficial JB roms are good and worth using but still have some bugs though.

That article is 2 years old and no Crapsung is not going to update our device anymore as its now obsolete for them.
As far as I know official updates stopped at 4.1.2
The only way you are getting 4.2.2 or 4.4.4 or even 5.0 is by a custom CM or AOSP ROM
Thanks to all devs I have been on 4.4.4 around a year now

Can I update from 4.3 to 4.4 using a different country's firmware?

Hi all,
So I'm using a GT-I9305
Android: 4.3
Baseband: I9305ZHUCNB1
Build: JSS15J.I9305ZHUCNB1
Since it was shipped from Hong Kong it was updated only to 4.3. I wanted to know if I can install an update to 4.4 using Odin, but from a different country, since 4.4 wasn't released to Hong Kong.
If I can, how do I know which one I should use?
Much appreciated.

Yes you can but you could also update to Android 6 using the resurrection remix rom or pan's i9305 CM13 port...
I have been using cm13 as a daily driver for over 6 months... It's now very stable & enjoyable...

Much appreciated,
It's been a few years since I used Odin. Just to make sure, how do I know how to choose the right firmware?
For now, I'll stay away from a custom rom. Maybe after I'll upgrade to 4.4.

You can use any firmware. I would choose one that is close to your region, but I'm not sure if that would give you any advantages. The downside with stock firmware is that you will have a CSC(region sales code) and modem/baseband that has been optimised for that region. This may or may not cause issues such as wakelocks or weak network signal.
If you don't want to try the latest android 6.x custom roms(which are based on AOSP code, I would recommend as an alternative a custom rom based on Touchwiz 4.4 such as Amcha Rom. The main advantages of using a rom like this is that you have the option to choose the CSC from your region and with root access, you can try different modems if you are not happy with the one you have(weak signal etc), as well as the other advantages of root permissions such as removal of bloatware and many other. And being based on touchwiz, you still get the functionality of samsung apps and features. There are also other touchwiz based roms in the i9305 development forum if you want to try different flavours......
