Right, I was foolish enough to try rooting, and installing Cyanogen mod on my Optimus 4X HD, without any prior experience. I was quite nervous about it all, but after my phone started acting like a retard, I decided to go through with it. Found a guide online.
I rooted it, installed CWM (or atleast I thought I did), then I hit enter Recovery Mode, and got stuck in a bootloop where the LG logo was just flashing. Then I went into Android Recovery (which I thought was CWM at first) and wiped the cache, wiped data / factory reset, and tried to apply an update that was on my SD card (where I put the Cyanogen zip). It would not find my SD card, probably because its in NTFS format, and not FAT32. Still stuck in a bootloop.
I then decided to revert back and install a new FW.
Heres a list of what Ive tried, and what errors Ive got when Ive booted the phone into SW update mode. (Vol down and power)
LG Mobile Support (Error: Phone has newest version of software)
LG PC Suite (Error: Same as above)
Software Update through KDZ file (Error: Phone / device not found)
Software Update through .DZ & .DLL file (Error: No progress being made on LG FLASH TOOL, also tried different versions)
Ive tried countless versions of drivers, uninstalling and installing every single one of them. Also disabling / enabling USB MODEM DRIVER did not help. My last idea is to put an update on my SD card after Ive bought a mem card reader and made it into FAT32, could that work? If so, where can I get the update? Hope you can help a desperate man. Thank you.
Running Win8.1 64bit.
PS If you need any more info, please ask and I will fill you in as detailed as I can.

since you haven't able to apply update, just wiped thing, I see no reason you cant' boot to stock LG
0) " made it into FAT32, could that work? If so, where can I get the update? " -> do more research
1) Did you unlock bootloader? if dont know then do more research
2) kdz update: windows enabler on? dont understand -> more research
3) driver: unplug, remove battery, hold volume down, insert batt back, plug in

0) Okay
1) No, bootloader is locked
2) I tried flashing with KDZ v20b, but phone was not found with the application. Tried several drivers and USB ports. Enabler was on yes.
3) Those instructions have been followed.
LS.xD told me it could be because of win 8.1, so I will try with win 8 and win 7 later today.
He also said Ive been stupid for trying to do this with android 4.0.3, and not updating to 4.1.2 first. I guess this is what happens when a noob tries new stuff, although the guide I followed did not bother mention that.
Issue has been solved. Thank you for everyone that helped, especially LS.xD.
My problem was a OS / Driver Compatibility issue. I tried installing a driver, and flashing with v20a on my neighbors computer, and it worked 1st time. We were both running win 8.1, but something must be wrong with my computer I guess.
I have the same problem and i don't know what to do
i have tried different computers and i still having the same problem
phone is n't found
any one can help me plz

OK, so this HD7, was windows version 7.5 and bootloader 5.xx, so I downgraded since no SPL tools were working on the modern bootloader version. I had a 2GB SD card installed and formatted, and the phone was working. I took the 16GB out to try and wipe the card and format (linux or Nokia method I haven't decided) and I ended up getting HSPL loaded after successfully goldcard-flashing the stock ROM (TMOUS ROM). I was following Xboxmod's SD card recovery thread and installed the XboxMod ROM suggested in his thread, and it flashed fine- but suddenly the SD card is not recognized. I reinsert the 16GB and it sees it and all is good- but I want the 16GB OUT and reformatted, so this isn't going to work. So, I tried looking for a way to reformat the SD in HSPL mode or with goldcard and found similar complaints about non-working SD cards and 12MB only on SD card, figuring these may be similar issues I downloaded the tool here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263347&page=7
I ran it and went through the first time and just did a check to make sure everything was working and at the end it asks to wipe c58 (I think) from what I understood this was what fixed everyone's problem. So I did, and it didn't change the way the phone behaved, still boots to 'damaged storage card' screen. So I ran the tool again and chose the other option 'reflash c58' and it entered the 'Entering USB host mode' screen, immediately followed by "No Image Found!" with 'serial' across the screen. I unplugged it after some frustration and reboots etc and some failed SCHUIMG goldcard files that still prompted "No Image Found!" screen..then plugged it into PC, and it switches to USB mode, then I could flash a ROM (reflashed the Xboxmod ROM in hopes that it would at least get me out of the prompt for USB host mode), ROM flashed successfully but still boots to USB host mode, no matter what I put on the goldcard it says "No Image Found!". I'm at a loss as to what my next step should be here......except not to ever buy another windows phone in my lifetime..this is ridiculous- now it won't read the 2GB or 16GB SDcard..
EDIT after some more research it is the s58, not c58..I downloaded the s58 DIAG img and am going to see what that does loaded on the goldcard now..hope someone has had this issue before and get set me straight (btw I bought a cheap symbian Nokia phone, hopefully will unlock the SD cards but now to get the phone to use one...)
ok, I flashed every rom that was reported to work to get the hd7 out of USB host mode, I found the developer's thread, though I can't make heads or tails of the broken English at times, forgive my unilingual handicap..so apparently this is a common problem for people who clear the s58 by pressing the power button, even though the dev says it is simply waiting for the firmware to be flashed, I can't get it to recognize any ngh I mg file on the SD, using a mock xtc cable and a partitioned SD card in a USB reader, it worked to downgrade the phone, and it apparently sees it because it replies 'no image file' when I plug it in. It then goes into serial mode, and I can plug it into the PC and flash the rom with any signed rom and flip my spl all about, from 1.20 to 3.1 to 5.1 and back, and full roms seem to install but after every reboot...
''Entering USB host mode...''
The dev really did a disservice if you ask me by not putting a warning screen of any kind, and the action happens as soon as you press the button..no additional prompts, no time to pull the batt.. and now he has basically blamed those who used his software for having problems and refusing to assist because they didn't watch his video tutorial... :-\ doesn't seem right to me, when I got the sw I read no warnings, even though I've put 30 eyeball-hours on the forum over this beast!!
So...does anyone know WHY it is bootlooping into host mode?
ecj try it again
huh? I have flashed until I am blue in the face..it is a waste of time if I don't know what I mg file is damaged/missing..I don't even know exactly the extent of what clearing the s58 does so I don't know how to fix what I don't know how its broken? Anyone please...or alternatively someone with a riff box wanna buy cheap? Done with wp7..back to android..
Ok, well, not going to abandon this post even though the HD7 section looks dead here..
I have conquered the HD7 without using a riffbox, the problem was how I had made the goldcard, for some reason it worked perfectly well to flash the phone and to open the SCHUDIAG.IMG file, but after I wiped the s58 the phone somehow had higher standards..something I didn't anticipate.
The phone would only allow me to flash signed (that is stock) ROMs (I could do so by plugging in the goldcard while in USB host mode and I would see the 'serial' option appear, I could then unplug the phone and plug it into the pc and use a generic RomFlashUtility task to push ROMs to the phone, although I never got it to successfully flash all the way and stop bootlooping, I was able to flash full ROMs will SPLs of varying versions).
What finally cracked it was this- I had a 4GB microSD, partitioned into a 990MB SD, I had the CID and a goldcard img made properly for windows phones, here was my procedure;
Format the SD in fat32 and upon completion, remove and reinsert the card (I didn't think this would be necessary, but apparently it is)
Load goldcard tool and load img file and patch MMC (success card ___is now a gold card! etc) Remove card and replace!!
Place SIGNED ROM onto goldcard. I had tried this 100 times with different ROMs, from TMOBUS (which is the phone's original rom) to O2 ROMs, AT&T ROMs etc. The Europe O2 UK ROM finally cracked it for me, I placed it in the y cable expecting another "No Image File!" Error, but instead it said "Loading... Bootloader - OK etc." and began loading the ROM. This reset and scared me because it went directly into USB host mode and appeared to be looping again, but I let it do it's thing, and it went through the entire procedure and rebooted again, starting to go into USB host mode and load the same goldcard image again..
I'm screwed, I thought, sure it was bootlooping, so before it could do anything I snatched it from the y cable and removed the battery and replaced it and rebooted...the O2 screen came up!! I was out of the bootloop!!
It loaded up with my 16GB card inside, I then flashed it with RSPL/HSPL and loaded the XBmod ROM on it as per the SD Card recovery instructions, located the dev storagelock.cab file and pushed it through at the startup screen, all went without a hitch. Unlocked the SD card, reformatted, works like a charm..now there's the matter of this 2GB card that I had previously formatted to work but suddenly stopped working when I flashed it back to stock the first time before fubar-ing the thing...
Anyway, I know a long story but I wanted to leave this for anyone who bricked their phones into USB host mode bootloops using the SCHUDIAG.IMG tool on the goldcard, it is possible to come back if you find the right ROM and build your goldcard image correctly. Now..to get rid of this damn windows phone...
Hello,
I made the mistake of taking my Lg Thrill p925 and trying to install an ICS mod on android froyo. (QMEMO), So anyway's when I had tried to boot up the Thrill, and discovered it was stuck in a boot lock. After going back into CWM I had done a factory reset and realized it continued to remain in a boot lock. At first I had gone and cleared everything then reinstalled the stock rom after discovering that didn't work, without considering the consequences I had cleared the internal sd card. I quickly realized I made a mistake, thinking that the system file's would remain unchanged I went ahead and cleared it. I was wrong and there was nothing left and no backup's made to a nonpresent external SD card.
Originally I though ok no big deal I can just go in CWM which support's adb sideload and reinstall the stock rom/ system files. I discovered that the Thrill was not recognized by the pc as anything but an LGE COSMO usb Device and there is no driver to be installed for this. So I basically gave up hope after that thinking I had tried everthing (odin included). So I was wondering is there any other way to reinstall the system file's so I can stop using the Iphone 3g I had laying around . If you can help me please let me know.

i have a similar problem
hi Garret_Broemser
did you find the driver for LGE COSMO USB device?
I installed CWM recovery from within ROM Manager, rebooted into recovery, made a backup of my stock rooted ROM, then tried to install Promethius Thrill Edition from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960787
It failed, giving me an error status (0), i tried to reboot the device, and it sits at the LG logo and does not move... I tried to restore my stock rom, and when it reboots, it does the same thing....
Someone PLEASE help me asap... I run my own business and without my phone I cannot make money....

I have also tried to do a data/factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik cache, etc. Still no luck...
Ok so here is what i did step by step... I rooted the phone using:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412490
After I rooted it, I tried installing CWR using:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365876
This did not work for some reason, so i installed ROM Manager from the play store and let it install CWR
I downloaded this to my external SD:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960787
I rebooted into CWR and chose to install zip from SD, chose my external SD, and chose Promethius Rom.. It went throught it's thing, then told me it failed, probably a bad download on my part due to crappy network at the time...
I then said screw it and rebooted the system and was going to just stay with stock, but now it's stuck at the LG screen. I've tried factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik cache, etc. and so far nothings working. I am now going to attempt to re-download Promethius Rom and put it on my SD card and try to install it with a better/new download. I will report back if no one has any other ideas for me to try.....
Just tried a new download of Promethius Rom and it did not work. Going to download a different Rom to try i guess... I have no other ideas and so far no help..
Ok I have tried NUMEROUS things now. I know I am going to need to use this LG Flash Tool some how, but it's been a huge fight trying to get it to work... I hold volume up, plug in the usb, and in device manager it keeps just coming up with "Unknown device" So I unplug it and try again while holding volume up... Same thing.. Every once in a blue moon it'll pop up with something else, but almost never lasts more than a split second. IDK wtf to do, and I desperately need my phone.....

I got to the point where it goes through the flasher but it goes through alot of stuff but then fails. I'll give you my exact process...
Installed the OMAP Flash Installer
Installed LG Mobile United Drivers
Installed and setup the Flash Installer v1.1
Opened device manager, held the volume up button on phone (with battery, SIM, and SD removed) and inserted SYNC cable into phone
Caught the OMAP device in device manager, and installed omap_winusb.inf
Changed com port to port 41 on the LGE Mobile USB Serial Port
Setup FlashTool with the LGP920_110622.dll and 28bRTbig_AP.bin
Hit start on the flash tool. Plugged in the SYNC cable, and inserted the battery in the phone, waited for flash tool to start.
Here is what flash tool shows...
NO READ PID
RomBinary Download Start

PSI RAM writing start
Trying to communicate with IFX modem
Confirm IFX communication
PSI RAM writing end
Start PSI RAM
EBL writing start

At this point, i have no clue what else to do....
When trying to flash, do you see "S/W" on the phone screen with Korean writing?

Hi,
The Whole Story (skipable but it contains the details):
I wanted to install a custom ROM on my xPeria SP. I knew I had to root my phone so I went to the tutorial ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2440375 ) for this. Everything went well and I managed to root. (I
Now, since I wanted kitkat 4.4 ROM, I searched for another tutorial. (http://techbeasts.com/2013/11/30/install-android-4-4-kitkat-cm-11-custom-rom-on-sony-xperia-sp/. )
It said I needed an unlocked bootloader. So I managed to do this as well.... I think. I hadn't checked this.
It also said that i needed the clockwordrecoverymod. Therefore I followed this tutorial. (http://techbeasts.com/2013/11/18/ho...ony-xperia-sp-on-12-0-a-2-254-firmware-guide/).
Then I went on with the Kitkat tutorial. I did every step until VII. I had to deconnect my phone to insert an SD-card. I tried to turn on my phone and it had a bootloop: The Sony logo appeared, then the colourful waves, then it got stuck and it started over again.
I tried whether I could boot in CWM but that didn't work either. I still could connect in fastboot mode so I tried te reinstall the CWM via another website. (http://editandroid.blogspot.be/2013/06/sony-xperia-sp-install-custom.html). I flashed the kernel like they said, then deconnected my phone.
The Problem:
Now I can't put it in fastboot or flash mode. I can start it up but everytime I do, it get's stuck at some point (like when turning on the wifi or browsing through the playstore) and reboots itself or I have to wait a long time before it works again. Also all the factory settings are restored and all data is wiped out.
Is there any way I can fix this?
Extra information:
-Windows Vista 32Bit
-C5303 Model
-Yes, I've used a couple times the Hard restore.
-Flashtool by Androxyde used
EDIT: I can go into flash/fastboot mode
Hi there,
I got a bricked G5S+, which I reported in another thread already.
It was booting, showing the blue Motorola screen but ended up with a lying down android with a red questionmark and saying 'no command'.
That happened after I rebootet the cellphone for a longer time.
I read through a couple of threads and finally decided, I need to flash stock again.
I did not have switched on USB debugging and so on, as the phone was quite new to me and now cannot access android anymore to do so.
Anyway I thought: fine: I will just flash the stock OS again taking care of the software defect.
After having had some issues I flashed Sanders (SANDERS_NPS26.116-26_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml) following that thread here:
https://animetrick.com/flash-stock-rom-moto-g5s-plus-locked-bootloader-2018/
It is quite similar as this thread, which deals with installing a stock OS to a bootloader-locked phone:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/how-to/solution-to-flash-stock-romfactory-t3691396
The thing is I followed all steps but still get the same error:
A lying down android with a red questionmark and saying 'no command'.
Does anyone have an idea what else to try?
I am not aversed to install a custom Rom, such as the official RR v6.0.0, but I have no idea how to do so with a currently bricked phone.
Maybe you guys have a solution for me to unbrick and finally use my phone again.
Thanks a lot!
Regards from Germany
Matt
Hey bro Im not sure if you still need help but, if so can you try to boot into a recovery?
Hi Carlos,
yes I still need help.
I can boot into recovery. And fastboot runs and detects the phone, too.
Any idea what I can do?
Go ahead and download twrp from the Roms sections and also begin the process to unlock the boot loader, we can see if it still can be done without having enabled the setting in the developer sections, and if so we can either then flash the recovery and a custom rom or install stock again.
Sent from my iDevice running Smoothshake v11.3.1
I solved my problem:
It was the SD card. I cannot believe it.
I got myself another G5S Plus and swapped everything:
Same issue.
So I removed the memory card and all good again.
There is no need anymore to install a custom rom (at least not currently )
I am quite sad though not having figured that out earlier, becoz all my data is lost now....
Thanks for your help though!
I have fallen into same issue, i cannot install any custom rom or recovery to it but i can access fastboot & one recovery that has update via adb sideload / sd card but nothing works, shows failed line 2 error / install aborted .
the device just showing oem locked in fastboot & rom install or recovery install fails & says cause too many links
the phone starts & stucks after the motorola logo
anybody with any idea?
