Stop gmail vibrate - Motorola Droid Bionic

I can't stop gmail notifications from vibrating. I do want to see gmail notifications in the notification bar up top, but I don't want those notifications to vibrate at me. Vibrating for texts and alerts from certain other apps (Facebook, Instagram, etc) is desirable, but emails don't need immediate attention. Is there any way to disable the gmail vibrations?

Gmail / 3 dots on upper right / settings / your account name / Notifications (on) / inbox sound & vibrate, change sound to silent, and vibrate off.
You'll get notification, but no sound and no vibrate.

Thanks for the reply. Is there no way to keep a sound for emails (if I have the sound on) but no vibrate (ever)?

So set the sound to something short and see what happens? If you turned OFF vibrate then it shouldn't vibrate.

Is there a way to turn off alerts/alarms coming from the S planner?
I'm planning on using Calengoo.
Won't the alerts double? One coming from S-planner and the other coming from Calengoo?
I cannot turn of the calendars in S planner as Calengoo seems to need it to be able to get calendar data from my google account (I don't want to give Calengoo my login details, thus it is syncing from my Android device which is syncing to my Google Account)
Thanks for what enlightenment you guys can give.
I, too, would love some advice on this issue. Just using Outlook and the S Calendar. What I would like to do is to turn off the spoken notifications but still receive an event notification in the notification bar. And I still want the phone to ring.
What about "Set alarms and notifications" option in s planner options accessible after pressing menu key? I can set "Alarm", "Notification", "Disabled". There is another menu entry for vibration...
Thanks. But the problem with choosing to disable it is that I no longer receive any notification. I would like a notice in the notification bar - I just don't want my notification bar speaking. I tried changing the notification sound volume to zero. That worked to silence notifications about texts (but I still get the vibrate). But my calender still speaks.
Well, I found a fix for my problem, but it won't help the OP. Turns out the phone was in driving mode and that overrode application settings.

Just turn off the notification sounds via settings /sound /notification sound. That will apply to all notifications though, sms, whatsapp Etc.
This reminds me... Is there any good free app that will allow you to set individual tones for contacts and apps such as FB and other games that notify you when its your turn to play, etc?

You can change this setting per account without changing the system notification sound level. In the email account settings you can specify the notification bar alert, and the sound / vibrate. Set the sound to silent to mute any account.

[Q] Different Notification/Ringtone volume?

Is there a way to have a separate ringtone and notification volume like on some samsung phones?
The reason for this is at night I like to turn off all notifications: sms, gmail, facebook, etc... and just leave phone calls

You can use the module Xposed "Ringer and Notification Volume Unlink" (you must have rooted the phone and then you install Xopsed Installer).
You can find this module Xposed on Play Store

Possible to have vibration on notification ?

It's hard to understand why there is no LED on the Nokia 8, not necessarily a color one like on my trusty Lenovo P2, even a white one would do the trick for notifications...
Anyway I don't like audio on notifications so I was hoping to have the phone vibrate but that doesn't seem possible, am I missing something ? Thanks for any help !
Just turn Notification/Phone ring Volume to 0 should be vibration only

That would also mute phone rings, which I doubt OP wants.
@webvan You can manually turn of notification sounds for each app by long-pressing an app icon and tap: App Info -> App notifications -> Messages -> Sound -> None.
Thanks, yes I'd still like the phone to ring !
Will try the app by app setting.
ok so I tried that method and you can indeed dig into the notifications and when they are set to a high or above importance you can activate "vibrate" and deactivate "sounds". Thanks !

Seems crazy that 10 years into Android development there is no option to only make your phone vibrate when a notification arrives instead of making a sound !

May I ask what apps you are trying to turn off sound notifications? For Instant Messaging apps like Viber, Signal, Telegram, etc. I can easily turn the sound notification OFF and leave the vibration option ON. Some apps don't have those options simply because they don't send and/or display notifications.
It's strange to hear you can't do that. Try exploring all the options around the Notification Settings in each app.
Oops, had edited my message in the meantime! Yes I found that the trick is to set importance of the notification to high or above to get control of the sound+vibration settings. All good now!

No vibration or sound on Messages

I can't seem to get the vibration notification for Messages app to run. The visual notification comes on the clockface but not soundboard vibration. Is there something im doing wrong? The other app notifications work fine.
In Message app settings on the phone, chat setting, change from default messaging type from auto to text. Also, vibrate on phone for new messages is required to get vibration in watch.
