After searching for a best keyboard for our Galaxy Gear. I think this is the best keyboard because it has a t9 keyboard. Qwerty is too small for our gear and I cant type fast on that.
T9 keyboard works better than qwerty. Now I can text through my gear using galaxy gear sms fast

Not to take anything away from your suggestion, but I have one of my own to add to the thread. Check out "Black Bolts Keyboard T9 + Pro". It's free and, after minimal testing, seems to work great on the Gear.

Did you change the DPI or text size to anything particular? I like this one but in SMS Gear texting app, you can't see what your inputting. The top is all used up by the keyboard.
Thread cleaned, time to reset in here, and members are reminded that respect in posts/replies is a rule.

I changed nothing. I noticed that too, just haven't looked into adjusting it yet. Let us know if you come up with a good DPI for it.

Hello, can any of you tell me the best keyboard for the OB? I am currently using GO keyboard and it is not the best. Thanks in advance!

I like Perfect Keyboard because it allows to have a compact keyboard for portrait... a qwerty layout for portrait is IMHO too hard to use without mistakes.
In the other part Perfect Keyboard is rather bad for terminal and bash purpouses because is difficult to write symbols like _ or =
Regards!
the best: swiftkey
Well, I have used both and didn't like them... Any other solutions? The best so far is the GO keyboard that I have used so far, very smooth.

I use Smart Keyboard.
htc ime & swype are perfect for me.
I've been using gingerbread keyboard and it's been working out fine for me

I used SliedIT, but only found a demo and it expired. Didn't want to pay for it.
I am looking for a specific feature in a swipe style keyboard, I need it to automatically recognize two languages. I sometimes write messages in my native language, and sometimes in English. Is this possible? SlideIT had a setting like "secondary dictionary" but it didn't work, or I don't know how to switch between (other then manually from the settings page).
I'm using HTC ime for passwords etc. and swype beta for allday writing
Once discovered that HTC IME has compact keyboard to and is easy to chage between them with left-right swipe... stuck on HTC IME!!!
Regards.

why do you change keyboard for passwords? You can write normally on Swype

because in some apps swype is trying to add passwords to the dictionary or replaces the passwords with words from dictionary ^^
The ones you have mentioned have not proven to be a wise choice for me because 1) they are too compact, 2)weak design and 3)do not recognize well other languages such as Portuguese or Spanish, which I normally use alongside with English. The downside of GO keyboard is that sometimes it is slow/annoying to type sometimes. Any other alternatives you might share?

I'm using GO Keyboard. In newest version it has swype, a lot of supported languages, themes and other stuff. I suggest you to try GO.
Acutally, I'm pretty satisfied with the LG stock keyboard. It even automatically changes to the local language when I'm abroad. I've additionally installed Smart keyboard but frankly haven't used it a lot.

Since no ROM will offer the Japanese Language keyboard input, and I don't like to use keyboard apps from market, so is there anyway that I can mod the HTC Sense original keyboard input to have the Japanese Language?
I don't have any ideas how should I start it, so anyone can point me down to any guide?
At least please give me a head start.
Thanks.
In the forum for Android Revolution HD in the development section there are a few mods with full Arabic support, I believe this includes keyboard . I would recommend going to that page and contacting the users that Mike gave credit to. They would know exactly what do do.

Is it possible to put the galaxy note 2 keyboard on the One? Does it need to be rooted?
I really like the 5 row setup. I tried hackers keyboard as an alternative but didn't like it. Too many extra keys.
The note 2 keyboard was amazing.

Have you tried using Kii Keyboard? It has an option for the number row and when it shows up too (portrait only, landscape only, both). Only thing though is that it's a paid feature, although they let you try it out for an hour.
I'll give it a try. I've not used that before.

The Kii keyboard seemed to do the trick... But I'd still love to get the note 2 keyboard for free instead of spending the money. Is that part of the Samsung os?
Can it work on sense?

I don't think it would be as simple as installing an app if that's what you are thinking. Keep in mind the Note 2 keyboard has the handwriting input option and other Note 2 specific features. I, too, would love to have the keyboard. I think someone more experienced with this stuff than you and I could figure it out but if I were you, I'd just look for the best alternative.

You should ask the swype team. They probably haven't set up the app to be compatible with the screen res properly.
I think most people have moved onto swiftkey these days.

I've used Kii Keyboard on this and on my 700. It allows you to customize the size of the keyboard in many ways. For example, the amount of space to the left of the keyboard, or to the right, the size of the keys, whether or not the arrow keys are displayed.
:good:

As far as I'm aware, they don't use the tablet version any more, Swiftkey have consolidated the app into just 'Swiftkey Keyboard'. I'm not sure if this means you'd have to buy it again, but that version works fine on my TF701. Have a read through the description on Play Store and it'll explain better than me.

The numbers on top has the stock ASUS keyboard.
Swiftkey for tablets you can't purchase anymore, only currrent users who bought it will get updates.
But the ASUS keyboard you can swipe on also.

That's what I was wondering too. I did mess with my res settings and after I set them back to default my keyboard was overly large. I force closed the keyboard (thumb keyboard in my case) and then went back into language settings and reset it as the default. Everything was groovy after that.
How do I change res setting

Yep that's the one feature I will miss with samsung keyboard those damn txt shortcuts. I still find myself typing 111 and expecting my email to show up LOL its not going to.
Not exactly convenient, but pulling down the drop down menu and press "select keyboard". Google voice will be an option. It records until done and returns to Samsung keyboard.
