May I know how to get back warranty?
I got the Ta Backup.
I had restored it to NUTs 534 firmware, installed root and restore TA backup.
Now what should i do before going to Sony?
Phone button donsent work, therefore going for repair.
Do i just flash a stock ftf file over using flashtool and i am good to send for repair?
After Restored TA flash via Flashtool the latest FTF 4.4 for your model from your region. Done.

Hi, i have a C6943 and i just can't root it to do a TA backup. I was on 4.3 and tried to root with kingo root and then with vroot. Both failed. Downgraded to 4.2.2 and tried again. Both failed again. And i can't install 360root
What should i do? I don't want to unlock bootloader before backing up TA...

You don't need a TA Backup on 4.3 (.290) and applications like Kingo, Vroot etc. will only work for 4.2 (cant remember the number, i think it's .527)

Don't do that mate.
If he did thid what you just said he would lose his TA and that's not good.
If you aren't sure, please, don't answer.
Sony fixed camera issues on 4.3 but that doesn't mean that you don't need to backup TA partition!!!
How could you relock bootloader if you need it without TAs?

You don't have to relock it but some guys want back X-Reality and few Sony apk, OTA update or just need to use their warranty - that's why tou need TA backup.
If you send unlocked device with custom kernel to Sony they'll refuse ti repair or replace device...

Do you have locked bootloader? If so, then you can't install recovery as you have partial root due to Sony's RIC in the kernel.

You can't "Fix" X-reality, but you can backup TA partition before unlocking the bootloader and whenever you want X-reality you can restore TA partition and get your bootloader locked again.

Because you should flash stock kernel before restoring ftf.
Try to flash stock kernel now, if it didnt work then flash whole ftf without excluding anything.
That happened to me, and that solved it.

hmmm it's ok and thanks for the help.i'll figure it out why it's like this...mybe because of the rom im using.
I have an unlocked bootloader and I'm currently on a version of OmniRom
To get to stock 4.4 update do I just flash a tft to get back to stock?
Will I need my TA keys for this? I lost them by accident. My camera works fine on this rom so I'm not sure if I will need it to go back to .136 4.3 JB
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know you would only be needing the TA keys if you wanted to update your phone via OTA or PC Companion. TA restore won't be necessary if you will be flashing a ftf thru flashtool.

Thank you so much, I just need to know what to do when I get on 4.3 again, I wanna update to 4.4 but I dont have the TA keys
If 4.4 is released you can flash those tfts as well. Most probably faster than waiting for ota

So, I'm on Central Europe 1 4.4.2, with doomlord kernel and root. I have a backup of my TA partition before unlocking bootloader.
I want to update to Central Europe 1 4.4.4, using the flashable zip that was posted and the stripped ftf.
Should I flash the stock kernel from FTF 4.4.2, restore my TA partition backup and update? Or update to 4.4.4, and after that restore my TA?
What are the bricking risks? Should I wipe everything? :crying: SO MANY DOUBTS
Why relock?
Just update by flashing the file

Just update and then restore TA

If you want to go to totally "out of the box" device and have OTA update info and few other things you just said then yeah...
First flash ftf and stick kernel and then relock bootloader...
If you restore TA and leave custom kernel you could have serious problems...

Just finished flashing 4.4.4 and stripped ftf without wipe or anything. omg I'm trembling lmao

No, there is no serious problem at all, you just need to flash a stock kernel via flashtool (In a stripped FTF or a full FTF) or via fastboot if you have the kernel.elf
So everything went smooth! Now i'm on 4.4.4 with root and locked bootloader BUT x-reality is not working LMAO. I'll try to install it now.
Edit: yep, it's definitely not working. I relocked bootloader for nothing! haha

Exactly what I said..
You have to flash stock kernel - there are many guys who relock bootloader on custom kernel - xda us full of stories like that..
They have toy now instead of expensive device..
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
No, it's very easy to fix, just flash a stock kernel after relocking the bootloader, it does not brick the phone relocking in a custom kernel, it just gives you a boot loop which is easily fixable

there is already a thread about that, but no matter
flash the original ftf (the one where you have backuped your TA!!), than relock the bootloader and at last, restore your TA BAckup now you are completely on stock and no one can figure it out, if your BL was unlocked or not

you can use .108 as well i think, what matters is that you are on 4.4.4 when you have backuped on 4.4.4 but btw, i can share .157 BAL with you, from baltic states, works well with non baltic states
