I just recently bought my Sony Xperia ZR (LTE version) 3 weeks ago. It's already updated to 4.3 Jellybean when I got it but every time I'm using it after 4hrs of charging, it easily drains my battery when I'm playing games and do some internet stuff. Is it normal? I've read some articles and blogs that some users can lasts their batteries about 1 to 2 days of using it when it was not updated to 4.3 Thanks!

If you are using it,the battery sure will drop slowy, but if you play games/internet,drains more fast.
and yes 4.3 consume more battery than 4.2.2
hopes that 4.4.2 update will be better

So that's why. I hope it will fix the problem for the next update. By the wau, since the day I bought this phone, I still not tried to test it on the water because touch block is not present on my phone and I don't know where to find it.

Hi, I'm about to sell my note 2 to buy an xperia Z... the phone looks fantastic, but pretty much all but one review I have read have said the battery life is appalling. Is that true? What are your thoughts on it????
Please help.
Don't worry!
It's okay!
If you not playing games or use screen on a long time.

Battery life is really dependent on how you use the phone. For me, I don't have problems hitting 1 full day of usage without recharge.
And I don't trust reviews on battery life, because it will get better after a few weeks of use (that's how it is on my previous Xperia phones). The reviewers only use the phone for a couple of days.
That said, the Note 2 comes with a 3100 mAh battery, while the Xperia Z battery is only 2330 mAh. So be prepared that it might not last longer than the Note 2.

Thanks for the input mate. I know the N2 has a huge battery and was impressed with the battery life. But the phone is just too big for me. It lasted 4-5 months before I got fed up with the size.
I do listen to music a lot 1-2 per day, and browse the web on and off during that time.
I'm hoping to get a day out of it.

Same here, 6h of battery use and on 50% Texted, 1 hour o bluetooth and wifi and 4g on when needed. That's horrible, just like on my old evo 3d. And I bought a new phone because the battery was horrible in the old one...now same sh*t
Hey,
I would like to ask for advice.
I have had an Xperia Z for almost a month and the battery seems to be faulty:
It lasts few hours with a very little usage.
I attach the screenshots of battery panel.
I should recur to assistance or not?

This isn't the Q & A section
Mine only lasts around 4 hours... even when completely turned off...
Go in the service test and check whether the battery is good.

So I've just upgraded my C5502 to Lollipop [Customized US] 3 hours ago and the Battery Drain is crazy, It has dropped from 96% to 54% in about 2 hours, and it kept discharging even after plugging the charger, it's now 48%.
Is anybody facing the same problem? And does anyone know how to solve this?

I am also using US version but no such problem
Yes it did happen for the first few reboots. I know it's weird but I think Google play store is draining battery. Anyways, let the device settle, and I can assure you that battery life will be atleast equal to that of kitkat, I am getting better life in lollipop and I also experienced the issues you are having right now, just wait and it will be fine.

Hello, I'm a new user on xda (but actually a longtime reader). I finally decided to upgrade to Nougat with OTA updates. My device works perfectly fine, except for the battery. I have another android running rooted stock Motorola nougat with similar apps and usage and able to survive until midnight with 15% battery left on on medium use, while my Note 5 can't even survive half a day on light usage.
In battery usage stats, most battery use percentage is the screen, followed by device idle. I don't use LTE with hope it can help, and using 720p resolution to see wether it can also help. The screen on time lies around 3-4 hours but the standby drain is very annoying.
My device has never been rooted. I'm considering flashing a rom if it can help the battery issue, but I use the S-pen a lot and don't want to lose its functionallity by using a rom without the S-pen apps. Right now I'm considering flashing a ported version of Note FE rom by RadeonMaya. Is it good for these purpose?
Any idea on what to do?
The Note5 is over 3 years old, don't expect good battery life. Even when new it was bad. 3-4 hours of Screen time is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I only get 2 max.

Thanks. Perhaps i'll consider buying a battery case or something.
Get the battery replaced. I did mine myself and it's like a new phone again
