Battery apparently faulty. - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
I would like to ask for advice.
I have had an Xperia Z for almost a month and the battery seems to be faulty:
It lasts few hours with a very little usage.
I attach the screenshots of battery panel.
I should recur to assistance or not?

This isn't the Q & A section

Mine only lasts around 4 hours... even when completely turned off...

Go in the service test and check whether the battery is good.

Xperia TX battery

I get my Xperia TX today and I thought that the battery would not be decent. But this??
I see the % change each minute. Is insane!
I will buy another battery, but I think it will not be enough.
Any idea? Any process in the phone to block?
I'm using only wifi, 2G and data service off. Low screen light too...

Here MUGEN released a 1900 mAH battery for Xperia TX!
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...tx-xperia-j-docomo-sony-xperia-gx-so-04d.html
but not much of a difference your phone would last 10hrs straight from this tho,,,
I think the phone is just getting used to it. First few days my battery drained like crazy too, but it gets better.

I also experienced that as well when I first got my TX way back in December. As time passed by though, battery life got better
Is it still on ICS or JB? I'm now on the official Sony JB release, and I guess I can say that the battery life got a bit of a boost. Also try using the Snapdragon battery app - I believe it helps my phone save battery, in a way

Battery suggestions Xperia TX

Hey guys. i just got the Xperia tx and i love everything about it except the battery, It can barely last half a day with my usage. Any suggestion on bigger battery's with compromising on the form factor?
Thanks, Sid.
Hi,
It has something to do with exchange or email services...
When i configured the email client, my battery was sucked dry withing 3 hours.
Reseting your user helps!
I just completely stoped using it (unsure if I deleted the programm)
Under settings / Battery you can enable a save battery setting (it will turn off data when the display is off...)
I have made my phone last for 4 1/2 days with these settings...
I have to admit though that I had, WLAN, DATA, GPS and Bluetooth only on when I needed it..
I hope it helps
Cheers
Tony

Also I am seeing a 1900 mah battery for tx on eBay, no brand.
Any reviews.
Since I cannot put the phone on extended standby mode due to led not working, I will need an extra battery.

I'm using powerbank (6600 mAh) for battery backup.
Because I don't like bulky alternative battery selling our there.

[Q] Battery Life

Hi, I'm about to sell my note 2 to buy an xperia Z... the phone looks fantastic, but pretty much all but one review I have read have said the battery life is appalling. Is that true? What are your thoughts on it????
Please help.
Don't worry!
It's okay!
If you not playing games or use screen on a long time.

Battery life is really dependent on how you use the phone. For me, I don't have problems hitting 1 full day of usage without recharge.
And I don't trust reviews on battery life, because it will get better after a few weeks of use (that's how it is on my previous Xperia phones). The reviewers only use the phone for a couple of days.
That said, the Note 2 comes with a 3100 mAh battery, while the Xperia Z battery is only 2330 mAh. So be prepared that it might not last longer than the Note 2.

Thanks for the input mate. I know the N2 has a huge battery and was impressed with the battery life. But the phone is just too big for me. It lasted 4-5 months before I got fed up with the size.
I do listen to music a lot 1-2 per day, and browse the web on and off during that time.
I'm hoping to get a day out of it.

Battery Problems!

I just recently bought my Sony Xperia ZR (LTE version) 3 weeks ago. It's already updated to 4.3 Jellybean when I got it but every time I'm using it after 4hrs of charging, it easily drains my battery when I'm playing games and do some internet stuff. Is it normal? I've read some articles and blogs that some users can lasts their batteries about 1 to 2 days of using it when it was not updated to 4.3 Thanks!

If you are using it,the battery sure will drop slowy, but if you play games/internet,drains more fast.
and yes 4.3 consume more battery than 4.2.2
hopes that 4.4.2 update will be better

So that's why. I hope it will fix the problem for the next update. By the wau, since the day I bought this phone, I still not tried to test it on the water because touch block is not present on my phone and I don't know where to find it.

[Q] Is it normal?

is it normal to have only about 4 hours of screen on in xperia z1?
how come because it is a 3000mAh battery?
or is my battery a faulty one?

Sounds quite normal still, maybe you just have more apps running in the background than I do.

i dont have that many apps in my z1 right now. it is only about 2 weeks old or so. not more than 1 month. is it true that li-ion batteries tend to have its full capacity after certain charging cycles?.
i only use my z1 for texting because i am quite busy with my work.

I'm not sure if its true but I've heard people talk about it. Do what I do, go under developer options and limit background process to 3. Make sure stuff like nfc, bluetooth and gps are off too when you're not using them and don't overcharge the phone

I get 3/4 hours of screen, never got more than 4 and forget 5. Who get 5 or 6 I just don't know how they do that, maybe as I am on 4.3 and not on 4.4 but to me it should not make any difference.
Probably, as the phone is assembled with different hardware pices, like 2 lcd models, then can influence on battery consumption.
Hi,
I used to get 5-6 hours screen on time, but then I started to use more apps and specially listen to more music on it, with 4 hours of music listening I was getting 4 hours of screen on time. Maybe you should try letting it get completely discharged and then charge completely while off. When I was getting a bad battery life it helped me .

I am on 4.4.2, my best only 4 hours of screen of time, and I have never got it last two days(I just don't know those people who last 5-6 hours, and 3 days), i use my phone mostly just for chatting, and i think my battery is really bad. sometimes I have to charge it every night.
You can check your battery health:
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* (*#*#service#*#*)
Choose Service tests
Go to Battery health test, then it should say if your battery is ok or not.

The Battery health test always says good, but my battery just so bad
here is the attachment and you can see how bad is my battery
I'm in the same boat as you, my Z1 is running KitKat all stock and after a clean install my battery just drains and both GSam battery monitor and the stock battery metre show that the android os and android system take up most of the battery after the screen

Actually I do not complain of battery life when the Phone is in idle as I get more than 4 days in standby with a 30minutes on screen, what bothers me is the time on screen, which is no more than 4 hours. If you cannot get 3/4 days in standby then you have look for sapplication which working in background and eat your battery.

This is irrelevant as any time you log into Service Battery Check it change every time, it not telling you the right thing and the battery cannot be checked from that.

Well, If i use the phone with 3 or 4 hours screen on time I have to charge every night, sometimes 1.5 day with 2 hours screen time. You mean three quarters of a day? I think I will not lost more than 15% if I leave it standby for 3/4 of day(maybe).

Then I don't know where is the problem.
In my opinnion this depends on how you use the 3-5 hours display time.
If they are continuous it doesnt use that much power. When i'm using it at work (don't judge me) i can get up to 6 continuous hours.
When im using it over the day (12-15 hours) i get around 4 hours and a litte more, wich is kinda "hardcore-user" for most people.
My nexus 4 never lastet that long, i could just get over 2 hours display time when i used it over the day and 3 hours at work...
I usually drain about 20% of the battery for every screen on hour (or about 5 hours of screen on per full charge), and that's using Facebook for a long time (a very well known battery killer).Even on my worst days, I never get less than 3.5-4 hours of screen on per charge. However, I tend to keep brightness very low.
Check the battery usage per application using either the built-in monitor or something like GSam battery monitor. You may have a bad application, or too high brightness, or even low signal strength.
