[Q] Removing hardware keyboard shortcuts? - Motorola Droid 4

Hi, does anyone know how to remove the hardware keyboard shortcuts? For example, when I push I and E on the keyboard at the same time when typing it opens up the Phone dialler program.
I'm on Cyanogenmod 10 if that makes any difference. I have had a look in settings and can't see anything obvious.
Thanks

The settings for the shortcuts are under accessibility. I went through and removed them all because I had the same problem.

Thanks, looks like that is not an option in Accessibility for Cyanogenmod so I'll raise it with them.

Poorly-responding Keypad

On my Tilt I usually dial via touchscreen using smart dialing on the standard keypad. I've disabled vibrating feedback for keypad presses but it's still abysmally slow and drops keypresses. Any advice?
Try disabling screen tap sound in settings. Check out kaisertweak and it's wiki if you are noting keyboard unresponsiveness in general.

ooo.i have the same problem (i guess). But i have screen taps sounds disabled. i'm a complete newbie with pocket pc, And what exactly to do?
I have already disabled the tap sounds. I have Kaisertweak. Do you have anything in particular you could point out in the wiki for me?
Does your touchscreen work well in other programs? There is a known issue with this.
There are several settings in Kaisertweak listed under TouchFLO for sensitivity/finger pressure/sound and I believe nikagl has recently updated the xml adding extremely high settings for some of these. I think the .exe has also been updated.
Some users have turned off scrolling (TouchFLO/scroller) also in KaiserTweak to get the screen to respond a bit faster - that's a bummer if you like scrolling tho...
Make sure you soft reset after changing these values.
Cheers-
Touch works fine everywhere else. I've disabled TouchFlo and will see if that helps.
I've also read here that you can increase the screen sensitivity threshold, as explained above as follows: With Registry Editor (Resco), go to HKLM/drivers/touchscreen sensitivity something, increase the rate.
The new Mobile Shell 2.0 has its own sort of dialer that works perfectly without lag so it's obviously just bad coding for the standard dialer.
Having used the Shell lookup some more I've decided it's nice but it can't really replace the default dialer because the phone function is central to that screen. Does anyone know of a nice super-crisp dialer that also has smart dial?

Stopping the on-screen keyboard popping up?

i have a touch pro (sorry if this doesn't belong here, but i assumed that they were basically the same) and whenever i go anywhere that has text input, the on-screen keyboard pops up and fills most of the screen, even when I have the inbuilt keyboard popped out.
Is there any way I can get it to stay hidden until I press the show/hide button?
There's a setting in Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool that fixes this.
Unfortunately it doesn't work in Opera due to Opera's bad handling of the keyboard. If you have problems with the SIP popping up in opera in landscape, install nullkb and look for an application that allows you to set different SIPs in portrait and landscape.
Cheers for the quick reply, I'll give these a go.

[Q] Keyboard buttons pop-up on touch!

Although my problem seems very simple but i can't find a solution through my phone settings. Whenever i press a key on my Z1 keyboard it pops-up on the screen. I searched in my keyboard settings for something to disable this but unfortunately i couldn't find any. I really like the interface and simplicity of the stock Z1 keyboard but this thing is making me really frustrated specially during chatting or sending a quick email. So is there an option to disable this that i couldn't find?
Thanks in advance.

Question Keyboard select button in nav bar?

Hi
one question regarding customizability of MIUI 12: I am missing a "Keyboard select/change" button in the navigation bar, I am used to this from e.g. OneUI and as I change keyboards quite often while typing I would be very happy to have it back
Does anyone here know how to active this, either via MIUI settings or any other means ?
Thanks,
Axel
Hi you may already know this, but if you do:
Settings/Additional Settings/Language and Input/Manage keyboards you can turn keyboards on/off
Not really a shortcut, but hope it helps.
Cheers
Steve
