My galaxy s3 mini Gt-i8190N stop recharge for no reason - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
i have a problem. Sometimes my phone stop recharge for no reason even my phone say that it is charging. i rebooted my phone, turn off internet and kill all apps in background but nothing helps. it always stop recharge at random time. it has nothing to do with battery because the replcement battery is pretty new and it's 3 days old.

Maybe installing another Rom, or updating your current rom, helps

battery swap and date lost

Hello
when I'm out all day it could happen I have to put a secondary battery. When I do this (I have to wait a few seconds after powering off and removing the empty one to clear the battery stats otherwise the new one carries the old percentage) and I start the phone the date is reset to Jan 2007 1 AM and changes back to the correct one after a few seconds (because of automatic date feature). The problem is that in the meanwhile some apps/services that start get the fake date and this messes things up. For example if I receive offline Viber messages they go as "received in 2007" or I lose all the stats of Internet usage for the day from 3g watchdog.
Is this a normal behavior? I'm ALMOST sure this wasn't happening months ago. Is the phone supposed to lose the date when you remove a battery?
I think that is normal. When the battery loses a lot of power somehow the phone is unable to keep time and date.

On the contrary it is not normal...maybe the little internal battery that feeds the clock is discharged...it is like the battery of PC motherboards
Accidentally thanked you

are you sure about this? could you try if it happens to you too? just remove the battery for 10seconds and see what happens

It happens exactly the same.
Wrong time and date and after some time it gets corrected.

Its usual if you are replacing it to quick then it will remain otherwise if swapping takes a little time settings will be lost

OK thanks. problem is that if i replace it quickly the charged battery will carry a wrong percentage
Have you tried deleting batterystats.bin when you change the battery?
I have no idea, but you can try if it works..
i tried but it usally makes no difference. the only way to actually get the correct percentage is to lose the date. I wish there was some other way to swap batteries without having these problems

Stop v20a battery drain is solved

Hey guys
I had a huge battery drain on v20a. With display off it lost battery very fast. Now i have battety drain like on v10h when display is off (in use its same like v10h)
To get this i deleted some system apks.
1. I deactivatet the whole smart logging system in hidden menu
2 then i deleted some system apks and their odex files.
I deleted :
Google maps( cause it made 40% battery usage....you can download it after deleting from market it wont drain like as system app Oo
Google chrome( same like maps and made lags as system app...downloaded as data ap
Deleted Mlt.apk (no use ans i think it made a piece of draining)
Logservice. Apk or something like this
(I think this was the main problem)
And lg on screen display apk ( made a huge drain ob p990 so maybe here too and i dont need it)
Know i have a realy awesome batery usage and a better less laggy performance )
Before 3g drained my battery when display was off but know i can let it activatet because it dont drains anymore so try it and make feedback ifts for you like for me
Sorry for my very bad englich...im from germany

let me add some ways to make more usable memory
first i use 'autostart' to disable startup applications, then keep check some activities comes very often: SMS,network change and Widgets.
them use system app manager to disable system app and system Widgets. if the button is grey, use 'root uninstall' to kill them.
do not delete them directly if you are not very sure coz some of them may cause fc,
then use 'disable service' to manage your daily application, for example, official Facebook application contains 44 services, you will lose a lot of resources on it.
after all,use 'greenify' to prevent some rubbish apps which cost unnormal memory at certain time and background applications.
now it become 480 free after reboot.

Already removed those apps, and still got a wakelock "baseband_xmm_power" that is keeping the phone to enter deepsleep,
tried searching everywhere for solution to this but can´t find any
Any ideas?

Draining 0.5% per hour the phone would last 8 days without a charge, dunno how that can be considered a fast drain. Unless I'm misinterpreting what you're saying.
I just had the GMaps draining 40% of my battery where I never used it. So I tried uninstalling it and installed it via market and greenified it. Saved a hell lot of battery. But that was in ICS. JB is quite good doesnt drain my battery. Maybe because it formatted my cell so only few apps are installed.

i also did remove most of the lg apps + disabled logging and debugging by editing the ramdisk (edited init.x3.rc) and my battery life is quite good.

Get root,

download total commander
go to the folder with apk's and odex's
deleted files
grant total commander permission

Is it possible to share ur edited init.x3.rc to us and give a few hints how to do the change? Where to find / to move original / modified init.x3.rc, what tool to copy/move/rename it ...
i used to have haevy problems with maps app, probably locatin reporting, so i disabled it. now, with the hint here, to uninstall and reinstall from google play, i dont have problems with maps app, but my android system is using cca 35-40% of battery. this is my first android phone (if you don't count using xdandroid on htc diamond touch 2 for a while), so i'm not sure if it's normal?
overall i'm satisfied with the battery tbh, but i feel ICS pumped out more.
AW: Stop v20a battery drain is solved
The android system usage of 40 % is normal
The android system is including nearly everything off system also lockscreen launcher and every other system things so its logical
The battery usage is normal this way

i was thinking there should be a comprehensive guide / tutorial by some expert of android system, with all possible steps to achieve most battery life and less ram and system resources usage.
so everyone could benefit from it. what do you say? (I'm not an expert yet btw lol)
guide with these points,
which apps and services can be disabled safely and functions of those apps and the steps to do it.
which optimization apps can be used for them etc.
if anyone make it, i would kiss his hand

thats still a ot with 3g off at home and wifi permanently on i use less the 2% a day.
in standby there is no visible drain at all on v10H not rooted or anything just some disabled apps.
and i know that 2 % can be reduced even more by roting ad i cant disable the updater and some other google stuff.
i think for many people 3g is the problem.
first of people often let 3g + wifi on which is just stupid.
if you have wifi disable 3g if you are outside and dont have wifi disable wifi and leave 3g on.
poor or no signal causes drains and 3g indoors has poor signal and therefore drains the battery.
if you ahve a concrete reinforced house like o do having repeaters in every floor or even room is crucial to saving battery life.
my router is on the second floot and i my phone is there almost all day aswell and i have full wifi signal as im sitting near my router.
if i go downstairs to cook and eat i lose 2% in less then an hour just because of the poor wifi signal.
so we will get a repeater (or second router in acces point configuration for downstairs just to save battery life for our phones and tablets.
another thing that seems to be important is the channel your on.
use wifi analizer to see how many networks there are on your channel and from my tests channel 1-6 are better then channel 7-14 so use it if it isnt over populated.

(Q) data lost after battery died

Hello community
My s3 lte often lost data after the battery died .the phone auto shut down this is normal
But when i plug in charger and start the phone again phone data are either messed up or lost
This problem occurs on both stock and custom rom.....
I tried to shut down and take out battery for a while, no problem. This occurs only when the battery died.......
Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2
what do you mean by phone data? what do you mean by messed up?
My system apps like Google now returned to factory state, need to re enable it again.
Then settings for apex launcher are gone or mess up (icons on launcher disappear)
And tons of fc
Avast show 200+ error saying certain path is not reachable

Xperia T Battery/GPS/Overheating issues

About 2 months ago, while using GPS, my phone overheated and shut down. The phone would then start rebooting when I touched the screen. It didn't matter what the program was, or what I was doing. The problem got progressively worse. Flashed other versions, did factory resets, etc. Nothing worked. I finally bought a new battery online and it has been working perfectly. Today, I dared to use the GPS again, and the phone overheated, again. I just turned it back on and just like two months ago, it is randomly shutting down or rebooting when the screen is touched. Is this an issue with Xperias? I feel like I've bought a piece of junk!
I too see the GPS issue. In a car I always have the phone on a USB charger. The charger is from belkin and rated for 2.1A but the phone still drains the battery and gets very hot with both, Google maps and skobbler GPS maps&nav.
The same setup works perfectly fine with my LG G pad 8.3, which happens to be a full tablet.
Gesendet von meinem LG-V500 mit Tapatalk
This time it wasn't even charging! :crying: I just want my $$$ back. I'm finished with Sony!!!
Just installed Cyanogenmod 11...same issue. Definitely a hardware issue! Worked fine on 4.1.2. Maybe I'll downgrade.
For what its worth, I have it the other way around. 1.5 years with an Xperia T and stock fw, upgraded to 4.3 some months ago, no reboot or overheating (to the effect it would crash) ever. Now, with a stable CM 10.2 I had 4 spontaneous reboots in that one week, even without interaction. Also had several occasions as described in posts above: a rather hot device that after a few minutes of active GPS would not fix a position any longer, and while charging and using GPS is almost too hot to touch. I considered going back to stock.
My progressive attempt at a countermeasure now: going nightly, the 20140611 just came out. Will tell you how it goes.
Edit: No, 20140611 also has this bug, no usable GPS.
