Does anyone know if it is possible to turn off the screen turning on during a notification? I know the gear 2 has a feature called "keep screen off" which allows my watch to just vibrate when I get a message and the display stays off. Any such thing for the galaxy gear ?

Hi all, when the daimond is in sleep mode it will turn on the screen and show the notification. But unfortunately, it will not turn the screen off and when I have it in my pocket, and don't notice the notification, it draws the battery empty. Is there any way to automatically turn the screen off after a notification? (I'm talking about the HTC GUI notification btw, so I cannot switch it off in windows settings). Thanks...

Hi, I've a Galaxy Gear [SM-V700] already in Tizen.
Is there a way to wake up the watch by touching the screen (without pressing power button or moving the wrist as from settings) ?
If not, should it be possible reverting back to android?
Thanks in advance.
I'm wondering this also. Is there a smart watch with this option?
Hello note 8 owners
I have a problem with the edge lightning feature. It works great when screen is on. I also really like the small notification when its activated. (Much better as the standard heads up notifications.
But the edge lightning don't work when screen is off [emoji53]
I asked on a German forum and there the people also reported it won't work when screen is turned off.
So it only wrong work with German DBT CSC or it is a firmware bug?

Haha. Mine works when the screen is off but not when it's on.
Really? What the.....
Then you should be a lucky guy. When screen is on, this feature is nearly useless. Because then i see an incoming message.
now is the question: why is it the other way around you

No idea. I've tried all 3 settings, when it's on, when it's off, and always. No matter what it only works when it's off.
Actually, sms only works when the screen is off. I was configuring blokada, and it worked when the screen was on.
It doesn't work for gmail at all.
Turn the notiffication popup
Try to turn on pop-up notification from the application settings. I got the same problem, already turn the edge ligjtning to 'always'. When i go to LINE and WhatsApp messenger then i realized that i wasn't turn the pop-up notification on :good: and now it soved and really pretty on my phine (Galaxy Note8)

actually that finally worked, but not all apps have popup notification settings. i don't like that popup from whatsapp when I turn the screen on. but at least the edge light works this way
I recently purchased a new Galaxy Watch 3, coming from my trusty Gear S3. One thing that is annoying me to no end is this "Screensaver" feature when the watch goes to sleep while an app is open. Pretty hard to describe so here is a video with a side by side comparison between the Watch 3 and my Gear S3.

Both watches have the exact same watch face. Notice that when the Watch 3 goes to sleep while on anything but the Watch face, it switches to this stupid Digital screensaver. The net effect of this is that 90% of the time when the screen is in "always on" mode it uses this stupid screensaver instead of my chosen watchface.
I should not that I am using a custom WatchMaker watch face.
Is there anyway to disable this "feature" so that it behaves like the S3?
I noticed the same! I expect it is because of the too small battery. Its not always on exactly, its always on to a Screensaver.
Would be nice to be able to change it...
Same here. I'd like to kill this "feature", i.e. when timed out revert to the "Always on" watchface, not the default screensaver.
Mine does this too, but falls back to the Watch Face AOD after about 20 secs. I think it was actually designed this way to allow you to go back to the screen you were on before the screen saver was triggered, by pressing the top button.

Mine doesn't fall back to AOD watch face at all. It can stay all day on the "screensaver watchface". That's what I'd like to switch off.
Reducing the time, but still not a fix

I'd love to get rid of this screensaver watch face as well, however, as others have mentioned, for me it also goes away fairly quickly. In your Galaxy Wearable app, if you go into "Display", what setting do you have under "Show last app". Mine is currently set to "When screen turns on again within 20 seconds". Unfortunately, there is no "off" for this, and 20 seconds is the minimum. If you have this set higher (e.g. to 1hr) I wonder if you'd see what you are seeing.
Regardless, if anyone figures out how to disable this, I'd love to know as well!
Same issue here. It is annoying. Following.
Same problem coming from the Galaxy Watch to the Watch3. Following hoping for a solution.
