[Q] How to get Paranoid Hover feature? - Moto X Q&A

Hello folks,
I know that is a little too soon, but there is some app that does what the new hover feature of Paranoid Android can do? Anything like?
Here is an video to who doesn`t know what Hover is yet:
Thanks for any replies

Wait for sometime. It will be out in the form of an app or Xposed by some dev.

Unfortunately that is HALO, its different its kinda an improvement on it, but not completely meant to replace if i understand.
Hopefully if the source is released (if not already) and xposed port will come.

There's an app called notification mod that almost does the same thing

There is an Xposed Module called Head Up Notifications. It's kind of similar but Hover has a better design.

Softkeys/Navigation Bar mod for car install idea

This is an idea I had while trying to get use to my tablet as a head unit. I found it very annoying that I had to switch screens to change the volume or tracks.
I wanted to see if anyone would think it would be a good idea to add a few buttons to the navigation bar like a skip back, forward, play/pause, volume up/down.
I'm trying to figure it out myself but I'm not the greatest programmer so I figured if I shared my idea someone might might be able to figure it out.
This is what I was thinking!

I have almost finished an app which will add next/previous/play and many other things to the soft button bar. Maybe I'll add volume controls too. For the moment the app was planned with the new bar style in mind ( aka not the omni bar seen from 3.0 to 4.1 which was abandoned in 4.2) but I think a little tweak will render it compatible.
I'll keep you updated.

Heys Peeps,
Check out the new Halo Notification system on Paranoid Android ROM. From the looks of it, it is SWEET

Yup Agreed on that fact, we dont have an official PA. but I wrote about a port right? We do have a PA port.. Even though its not updated from long..
Just asked here, even as u would see the Halo feature, dont you think its amazing to get it to use?

I meant the fact that you said PA Devs. We dont have a PA dev for our device and we won't get any because developing jellybean for our legacy device is quite a bit more work than those other devices that support ion natively (Ion is something related to the kernel). And PACman isnt really a PA port Its PACman. Something entirely different. Next level? Possibly
I had mentioned people,.. old one.. but yeah we do have a port ..

it's not halo, it's a kind of add-on for it. It make an application be persistent in halo so you can launch it anywhere.
Anyway I managed to install it and it works but the app is in the notification bar instead of the halo.

[Workaround] How to get quick reply on stock TW messaging app

I know many people love the quick reply feature of CM messaging app. Well now TW users can sort of enjoy that also!
1. Download Floating Notifications (AWESOME app developed by XDA member @crazyfool_1).
1B. Enable FLoating Notifications in accessibility (you will be prompted to do this anyway).1C. Make sure you are on version 1.5.0.2 (main menu of Floating Notifications app... More--->About) and have a card named "Extensions".2. Download Floating Notifications SMS Extension (keep in mind this is still in alpha stage!).
2B. Request to be in the alpha testing group for SMS Extension. If that link doesn't work, then GO HERE and on the left click on the "Extensions" tab.3. Push the SMS Extension APK to system/apps & set permissions (RW-R-R).
4. Reboot.
5. Go to Floating Notifications and then into extensions, then check SMS Extension.
6. Go into settings check "quick reply overlay" to ON.
7. You now have quick reply for TW messaging app (or whatever messaging app you use it will work for!) and you can also mark as read as well!

[REQ] swap back button with recent apps?

Is it possible to make a mod to swap back button with recent apps button? It's a big thumb stretch!
You can if you goto developer options and check force RTL. The only downside is that it flips everything to a RH laylout.

Hello all,
I would be very grateful if anyone has any suggestions on how to swap the back button with the recents button? There has been talk of it but after much searching I cannot find any specific advice on how to mod this on this device.
Much appreciated, thanks in advance

It's a SystemUI mod. From what I've seen, it isn't too difficult. Only required swapping a couple of lines for me. There's a modded stock 5.0.1 apk in this thread.
I'd love to get a menu button all the time too

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately though that did not work for me. I am on the latest LiquidSmooth and copying it over instantly caused force closes and rebooting didn't save it. Nandroid restored.
Any suggestions?

Many roms customize the system files to provide you with different features. As a result, replacing them with stock files can get those fcs. I may be able to take a look later tonight to get a working version for you.

You can try this. It's from LS 12-16 build. Warning: it was a bit hit-or-miss with me, so keep that nandroid ready. Also, this is something the LiquidSmooth makers could add to their rom, so you should ask nicely.
