Does anyone know if its possible to get the "Twist for Quick Camera" feature like the Droid Turbo. On the Droid Turbo you can also select a default camera for the feature and can be launched with the device locked. I'm not looking for an app with this feature built in. Thanks in advance
I know of an app..... works great on my Nexus 6...... but you don't want it in an app so I won't say which one it is.

I was looking for something in the app market and happened to run across this. Looks like a new update for Youtube. Seems like a little smoother interface and bit more finger friendly. Just figured I'd share!
The native YouTube app? Or are you talking about a 3rd party one?
I ask because I'm not getting an update notification. Since its one of my most used apps I'm definitely interested in any new improvements
The native app. I didnt get a notification for it either but it's def a different verision then what I had before. Try searching for it in the market.
I think it may be for 2.2 only.

I'm running Cog Beta 5.5. Which is 2.2.
But, it looks like it is completely separate than the YouTube app which comes pre installed on the captivate. Just downloaded, and so far I like it.
Here's the Appbrain
EDIT: It also allows you to edit the SafeSearch controls. Which I had heard previously Samsung (or ATT) disabled.

Can anyone else confirm this? I never got a backup so I don't want to upgrade unless this is true.

It definitely does let you edit the safe-search controls. First thing I did was turn them off
still cant watch a lot of music videos (thanks to VEVO) and a bunch of popular videos (worst dj ever) are still not viewable or searchable.
Have to use the regular Youtube site and use flash for those videos.
It clearly states on the AppBrain page that it is for 2.2 and up, so no dice for us Eclair users.

new and improved....
yeah,i downloaded this yesterday and i really like this version- the interface looks much better dark and i like that i have access to my channel when away from my computer...found out about the new youtube app through android central-no notification was sent to me since the captivate doesn't officially have 2.2?(i have the leaked 2.2 )
thanks for the headsup!!
New app looks awesome Thanks for the find.
Can someone please go to the new YouTube app (if you have it) go to settings and see what the application version is, please?

Really liking the new update. Again this is for 2.2 only, it didn't show up as an update to my current youtube app, but it did replace it once I downloaded and installed it.
Hopefully Google continues to add more and more of the stock apps to the market... one way to combat the horrors of Sense, TouchWiz, etc.

Ported to 2.1

Confirmed working on my end.
Definitely an improvement but still can't comment from within the app which I hope they implement
Hi guys,
I'm the developer of Tiny Flashlight + LED. I believe that it should work on XOOM (be able to use the camera LED as a torch), but I don't have the device and can't test it. Can someone test it and tell me whether it works on XOOM? Also, test the widget.
Thanks!

Both the app and widget work and it nearly blinded me! lol
One thing you might want to consider is to not force portrait mode which is common with the phone apps. Most people use the tablet in landscape.

Great! Thank you. I'll work on a Honeycomb update and add a landscape orientation.
Tesla LED works great on the Xoom also.

As stated already, works great. No complaints, but you've already said you're going to work on the layout so keep up the good work mate.
Fantastic. I was hoping Motorola would update their own proprietary app to support Xoom but that haven't yet. I'll have to look at this.
so... blinding...
any chance that the update will include brightness settings?

Just added the widget Flashlight like you add any other widget.
Wasn't able to add a widget to my homescreen, although app works fine

Try adding it to a blank screen that you are not using, I just dragged and dropped it on that screen. Then went to that screen and tapped it. Maybe there is some issue with how your screens are configured.

Nice to have since Moto dropped the ball on adding Xoom support to their own app.
Anyone notice the Xoom's flash has a weird yellowish tint to it? It's also like three times brighter than my Droid's flash, which is kinda neat.

works on my xoom, but not on My Nexus.
Almost everything working. Maybe I am doing something wrong, the LED turns on, but to turn it off or make it blink doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone know if you can install liberty rom over the .906 update? I've tried looking everywhere, but i cant seem to find anything about it and I'm kinda new to the whole locked bootloader stuff and I don't want to brick my phone.

Another quick question I use my camera a lot and I saw some posts saying they had problems with the camera, have you ever had problems with the camera?

It seems like it comes with your choice of either the aosp camera or a blur camera from another phone, but I don't recall any problems with either. Personally, I use an app called ProCapture, which I find works best.

I plan on using the blur camera because I like the stuff it has on there like the panorama. Much thanks for the answers.
Hi helpful people of XDA.
I've received my One and I'd very much like to keep it in my possession. Just wondering if there's a find my iPhone style app available for it? Or if its in settings somewhere?
Edit - Also while I'm here, the phone doesn't seem to distinguish between H and H+ it's annoying, is there any chance of being able to see the difference?
Thanks.
Phil

Does anyone know if it will be possible with the wear to use it as a remote for the camera app. I realize this would require either a separate app or added to the code of a camera app. Just curious if anybody thats looked at the developer materials knows if it's possible
