Disable lockscreen on sense 5.5, android 4.4.2 - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, as we know with official 4.4.2 update and sense 5.5 we can't unlock screen and go directly to the homescreen.
A simple question: is there an app or a mod that disable lockscreen in stock rom? If yes, it needs root, recovery etc? With these modifications, will I receive future OTA's update?
Thanks

I just updated to 4.4.2 w/ Sense 5.5 with an AT&T RUU and I'm able to disable the lockscreen. Under Settings>Security>Screen Security, there's an option "Bypass lock screen on wake". I enabled that w/ no screen lock and when I wake my phone I'm on my homescreen. If I set a PIN or Pattern lock, I'm on the screen to enter that once I wake the phone. No need to swipe up.
Perhaps that option isn't available in all variants. But I know it's different in 4.4.2 than 4.3. So maybe you're just overlooking it.

you're a lucky man even with that option activated, if I wake my phone there's a lockscreen (without pin or pattern lock, of course) and I have to slide up before going to homescreen

Okay, I dug into this a little deeper and found that I have an Xposed module that is enabling the "Bypass lockscreen on wake" setting when there is no screen lock. The module is called "Sense 5 Toolbox". The lockscreen bypass is an "always active mod" so I didn't even realize it was there. I disabled the entire module and tested the lockscreen bypass and I got the swipe up screen when no PIN or pattern was enabled. Set a PIN and the swipe up screen is gone.
I then re-enabled the "Sense 5 Toolbox" module, restarted the phone, then removed the PIN and now no swipe up screen.
--------
ADDED: You will need to be rooted to install the Xposed framework. Which means you'll most likely have a custom recovery. You can always flash back to stock recovery though. But once you root and start modifying stuff, the less likely it is that OTAs will install. But there are other ways to get updated. They may take a bit more work, but it's possible. Like I mentioned, I just updated to 4.4.2 & my device was rooted and a bunch of system stuff modified so the OTA wouldn't work as it was.

Ok, that's a great news! It's time to root

I just tried it with my Droid DNA running 4.4.2 kit kat, that I just upgraded. Root and s-off too.
It works!!!! Or appears to so far!
I assume I have to disable the module if I want to have a password.
The Xposed Framework I used was the .apk here: http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
Also, the module I found is called "Keyguard Disabler [1.3]" And you have to reboot after you set the option, then "check it" which makes it become active I think. Once you reboot, it works.
I just put the .apk for Xposed :goodn my http://futz.me public page, then clicked on the shortcut on my Android homescreen and downloaded it.
Thanks!

Possible to disable Samsung lockscreen?

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone had any idea how to disable the Samsung lockscreen? I just upgraded to JM2 and the new Samsung lockscreen is actually quite annoying.
I'm thinking of using Widget Locker as my new lockscreen but sometimes you still get "flashes" of the Samsung lockscreen in the background (and other times the Samsung one just completely overrides the default lockscreen).
It would be nice to be able to disable it altogether.
No Lock
http://www.appbrain.com/app/org.jraf.android.nolock
Yeah for older firmwares i could unlock the phone by swiping about halfway through the screen but with jm2 i have to like like 3/4+ for it to unlock, much more inconvenient
I found the name GlassLockScreen in Logcat. And now im workin on removing it...
And its not in /system/app
I would love to be able to use the standard Eclair lock screen
Looks like this is an overwrite. Cuzz there is no VanillaLockScreen apk of any kind on the ROM...
P.S. Im working on a costum ROM, and i will enable VanillaLockScreen.
Sigh...just flashed the phone twice over the last two day. Would be good if we can enable the default lockscreen without reflashing?
The device is rooted so replacing system files will not be an issue...
Working on it. Dont have much time, but ill try unpack the rom today and check if this could be done. Not sure cuzz oz the notifications and alarm on the lockscreen..
Anything new?
If you already found sth, pls post it, then i can search too..
Want to kill this damn lockscreen..
The png' for the lock-screen is located in framework-res/res/drawable-hdpi
The latest version is way worse than the stock. Lets hope there is away to enable stock android lock-screen.
I dont have such a path/folder...

that's in /system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi/*.png
Ty
So currently i am downloading the I9000 sources, to look where/when the pngs are loaded..
Ok, so this is what i found out..
I downloaded the opensource sw from samsung but i didnt find where the unlock pictures are loaded (used grep to search threw files).
Then i started adb logcat and this are the outputs when you enable the lockscreen:
D/GlassLockScreen( 2253): GlassLock onPause
.....
D/GlassLockScreen( 2253): GlassLock onResume

And i thought the id, is the pid and this pid is currently this
2253 1000 322m S system_server

I dont think it would be a good idea to kill this process
So i guess the /system/bin/system_server
and /system/lib/libsystem_server.so have sth todo with it..
Either it starts the a process for the lockscreen or it has the lockscreen in it..
Because in the libsystem is this
system_init.startsurfaceflinger
System server: starting Android services.
com/android/server/SystemServer init2 System server: entering thread pool.

Click to collapse
Maybe it is just a starting service..
Any updates on this?
I really liked the vanilla lockscreen with option to set volume to off but more importantly the vanilla contains things like alarm time and minutes left to alarm.
Anyone with any info?
Regards
/Fredrik
I use a pattern unlock for this very reason
Is it possible just to revert the glass screen unlock behaviour back to june time firmwares? where you only had to drag over half the screen? I'd be happy with that! (altho a fully functioning vanilla lockscreen would be cool too!)
If you want to completely disable the lockscreen without any apps for it.
Phone -> *#*#7594#*#* -> Check shutdown.
No more lockscreen for you. Oh and when u restart, there will be no PIN prompt as well untill you uncheck Shutdown, and then lock , wait 3 seconds, unlock, enter PIN, go back, Enable shutdown again.
i want to get rid of the lock also, although i am using nolock at the moment

This disable the shutdown screen. But I guess that will not help me if I want the vanilla screen? Even if I install an apk (if there is one) It will be disabled to?

[Q] Want to disable lock screen (swiping the lock) on startup

So I have 4.3, and ever since, when the phone starts into Android, there is always a lock screen where you have to swipe the lock in the center away to get to the home screen. I want to disable this so that it simply boots into the home screen. I'm fairly certain to do this I'll need to edit my build, I'm just wondering exactly what I need to edit to accomplish this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I don't know if this helps, but i accidentaly found this "glitch" that lets my phone without the lockscreen and enter the phone just by pressing the power button
I installed Windows 8 Lock Screen app from Play Store, I checked it to be the default locker, but after that, after I played around with it, I decide not to keep it active and I unchecked the "Default Locker option". After this, apparently, I have no lock screen whatsoever... Just press the power button and the phone is unlocked

HTC have removed the option to have no screen lock at all, you have to have something (which is responsible IMO)

Actually, this issue only came up once I installed the 401 5.5 4.3. My native is developer 1540 4.3, which does not have this. Good to know it's most likely a sense 5.5 addition, as I can request the next toolbox include an option to disable this.
Edit: For those interested, I seem to have found a happy accident that exploits the lockscreen coming up every time the phone goes dark. By installing the Windows 8 Lockscreen app from the play store, setting it as the default lockscreen, utilizing it a few times, then disabling it, when I restarted the phone, the only time the lockscreen came up was during the initial startup. Nothing after that. The power button got me directly to the homescreen. I also have no lock installed with locking disabled. Obviously, all it would take is a simple xposed module or app to isolate this and get it to the masses, but for now, this seems to work for me. I hope it works for you as well.

[Q] How to set ViperOne 3.5.0 Lockscreen to None?

I can't seem to find the setting for setting the lock screen to none. I did bypass the lock screen in the venom tweak app, but I can't find in the phone settings how to even keep it from coming up in the first place. Right now pressing the power button briefly shows the lockscreen for about a second and then unlocks the phone.

edit: found a solution. used the venom tweaks to switch to ASOP lockscreen then downloaded no lock from the play store
The option for set to none the lockscreen was removed by htc since android 4.3.
So, the option are two, or do the same you did, or set the tweaks: Bypass lockscreen

Alternate lock screens - swipe to unlock twice?

So I'm trying to use alternative lock screens like Picturesque and Next Lock Screen on my Nexus 6 running Chroma ROM.
This doesn't seem to be ROM specific.
I have a PIN, and I use Smart Lock with a pebble and locations for work and home.
On both lock screen apps, when I swipe to unlock I am presented with another lock screen, the stock lock screen, so I have to swipe a second time.
So Next lock screen - I swipe down to unlock, then I'm presented with another lock screen with notifications on it, where I have to swipe up to unlock (stock lock screen).
This is likely user error, but I can't figure it out how to only use 1 lock screen. Thanks for the help!

I guess without doing that only the 3rd party lock screen will be visible. Tried with go locker. Never had this duplicate luck screen issue. Though I used to have such issues with my galaxy s3 sometimes with a specific lock screen app.

That would work, but then I would lose all security on my phone (no pin unlock as a result of setting no lock screen).
This happened on other ROM's so I don't think it's specific to Chroma, but nobody else seems to be having this issue..?

Maybe you need a custom rom. Some have the option to turn swipe off when a PIN / Pattern is applied. At least on KK they did.
IMHO< The stock lock screen is too good to pass up so maybe not many people have tried. Or maybe some lockscreen apps seek to use root to turn off stock swipe (again they used to try)
I guess I'm going to hope this issue is fixed with 5.1.

Disable : android auto "swipe to unlock" screen?

Is there any way to disable this, or bypass it with a tasker script or something?
I use android auto mirroring, and want to see my launcher screen.
Now every time i see android auto lockscreen, and have to swipe every time.
If anyone has any way to solve this..
I believe can be done with tasker but i haven't much experience.
If i made it i will post it.
This was really annoying on my S9+. On my S10+, the screen only pops up once. After dismissing it, it doesn't return. Not sure if it's a One UI thing or a Pie update, but I'm not complaining.
The latest update to Android Auto allows you to completely disable the screen lock. You're welcome!

Strange... I could've sworn I didn't see that option yesterday on the same version. But it's there now and it works!
It could be stranger.....
I Have 2 Samsung s7, on is Original the Otter one is with Root.
On the Original one the Option to Switch off is possible, on the rootet one there is no Switcher for this Option........
Trying to solve.
Am I wrong or the option to lock phone while driving is only set to display/not display a black screen with android auto logo?
Here if I switch it on/off it's only thing that it does.
Even not locking my phone I am still greeted with my own Phone's lock screen.
I think that the solution for this is to simply disable your phone option to lock after some minutes or even make it's screen always on within developer options.
Hello,
i have the problem, that one phone from me, does not disappear the "swipe to unlock" screen.
I have deaktivate the Option "Lock phone while driving", but it does not.
I have two phones:
Moto G4 Plus: without android-lockscreen and rooted
Samsung Galaxy S7: with pin-lockscreen and no root
When i deactivate it by the Samsung, no Problem, screen is not showing.
But at the Moto, i have no chance, i have set pin-code lockscreen and hiding root with magisk, no chance.
Have anyone a idea?
Thanks.
Hello, for all that have the same problem:
The Tasker-Function "System lock" not only does the screen off, this funktion set the Android Auto Lockscreen on, even if no display lock is active in the Androidsettings!
