Hello,
I would like to know how can I find the downloaded files in HTC HD7 with WP7?
I have downloaded files from my hotmail.
It says downloading when download is finish,I can't open the file.
WP said Can't open attachment.
(There's no application associated with this file type)
I'd like to know where this downloaded attached files saved in phone.
I looked for the files by using TouchXplorer but I can't make it at all.
I have Registry Editor, TouchXplorer and my OS version is 7389.
Can someone give me an idea?
Thank in advance!
i think that file can't be accepted with wp7.
yes Ttblondey ,
I am trying to install .ttf , wp7 can't accepted.
But the download was finished.
I wonder if I can find this downloaded file.
I have chance to move to Windows\Fonts folder
The system does not work that way. Once you download an attachment, it gets stored by Outlook in some encrypted, hidden file somewhere that can only be accessed through the e-mail app. If the phone can't read it, then you are pretty much out of luck.
You are not meant to have file system access, so WP7 works very differently than a computer with file system access. Opening files that the OS does not support is not something you can do... yet.

Thank for all your advice.
I attached as a txt file to hotmail.
It saved as to the office hab. By using TouchXplorer, I found my text file under Document Folder. I changed file extension to .ttf.
Copy & paste at Windows\Fonts
can't do yet to change fonts in WP OS , still trying
I've tried downloading stuff from the stock browser and other browsers and when I go into my downloads on my phone the file is corrupt. I even checked to see if it was the program by trying to open it on my computer and I got the same result. Does anybody know anything about this or anything?
Where is your download location? I'm not totally sure why unless whatever your downloading isn't compatible with your phone.

The normal download location. Haven't changed it at all. Also, I'm just download a zip file it seems to happen with every file I try.
If the same file is not working on your computer then wouldn't it be the file or did I miss understand your question and statement
The file works on my computer if I download it on my computer. If I download it on my phone then try to open with an app or through usb on my computer it says the file is corrupt. So pretty much saying if I download from phone it's corrupt, download from computer it's fine.
Which other browsers have you tried? I recommend the dolphin browser if you haven't already tried it.

What kind of file is it what are you trying to do
I'm actually using Dolphin Browser. Every other file works fine but .zip files it seems. And the files I tried where Pokemon roms (trying to relieve childhood). But I know the files work since a couple of my friends have downloaded them from their phones and unzipped them on their phones. But my one friend he had a different situation where his would download as a .bin file when it's a .zip file.
I've been trying to copy directly an MKV file from windows 7 to the downloads directory on the kindle fire hd.
The file is 5.8 gigs and I have plenty of room on the device..however towards the very end it gives me a message
saying it cant copy do i want to skip it. Is this because the device isnt rooted. I have sideloaded an android app
onto the device that can play MKV files directly and I didnt want to have to convert the MKV file which will take
2 hours...not sure i want to root it either..as many are reporting problems with it right now....
Rooting went great, I did the step by step method. The problems come in because others are changing or deleting files they are not completely sure what all is running with the file. If you root you won't be disappointed. I like my rooted kindle fire hd, it's like the best of both worlds now.

Chances are it's because the file system is fat32 which can't support files that big.... your Windows file system is probably ntfs...
I think the biggest file you can have in fat32 is 4.3gb or so
FYI, there are no fat32 partitions on the KFHD (probably not the KF2 either). Post #2 below...

I stand corrected. I didn't own the device, was just speculating.
Perhaps it's going to sleep before the file finishes copying and it's causing an error?
No actually just tried it twice and both times it failed...I was asking because maybe the kindle fire hd unrooted will not allow this file extension to be copied to it...was my thought....but some are saying it is a size constraint. Just not sure
Hey guys, i'm having an issue with my streak. Its completely stock, minus rooting. I am trying to download an "mkv" file but it says it fails because it is not a compatible file? I thought a download was a download, am i doing something wrong? found the same clip in avi and it downloaded fine.

What is the file size? My guess is that in storage info xml file that Dell might have set a maximum file size downloaded able.
Code:
`maxFileSize`: maximum file size in MB.
