I would have to say NO!
from your link...
"Samsung Galaxy Note i717 Micro USB Slot USB Microphone Mic Charger Charging Port Dock Connector Flex Cable Ribbon REV1.0 Replacement For Samsung Galaxy Note i717"
That is not even a sgh-t999 /sgs s3 device's board.
I have the same problem mine isnt charging. but from what I have seen the "port" is on the main board and is not an easy fix, unless your skilled in soldering. [heres where my nasa soldering skills come in handy]
Would also like some direction as to where/what to buy....
Thanks
Edit 0:
I found this looking around on amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Original-Genu...im_cps_91?ie=UTF8&refRID=1F90DC9HWRDBRN3QA19D
has the correct model # listed and from my "googleing" this is the only way to change the part...no easy board swap like other samsung models... :/
Edit 1:
Ok I bit the bullet and ordered this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A6960P4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
wont be here till june sometime because its coming from hong kong... but I can wait..had the best price..Hope it dont bite me in the a$$...
Edit 2:
I stopped at one of those screen repair shops that have poped up at our local mall, just to ask if they do port repairs...He pulled out an S3 main board with the conector on it. From what I could tell I did get the correct part. It will be interesting to say the least to get it off and replaced. Will update after I get my part next month. At least knowing what I am up against is a relief.

from what i researched the att & t-moble version are identical, only that the Att&t version can get lte but i took my phone apart and the boards are the same, so ima give it a try.

USB Port Broke How to fix

Wow I am wanting to replace my usb miniport myself I have the AT&T Tilt 8925/HTC Kaiser. The other day I was trying to reset the phone In the Dark thought that I was pressing the reset button on the bottom of the phone, what was happening I had my styles in the usb port DAM IT!!!! Next thing you know I go to charge and the USB port just falls back I then open the unit, and find the usb port has broken from the motherboard, seems to be a pretty clean break, all I need is a new MINIPORT does anyone know where I can buy? An OEM port...
Please HELP!!!!

HELP USB Miniport Broke
Can someone help I have an issue, I broke my usb port, I have the phone opened, I was able to access the usb port it has been completely broken off the board, seems to be broken of clean no cracks on the board, all I need is the usb port does anyone know where I can buy a miniport? Also the correct size of the head for the Soldering pen? Is there anything else I may need to repair this issue. Keep in mind I have the phone open, and Have the ability, but if there is any more steps I may use I would really appreciate it. Thanks
AfroJack
Is this a common problem? Mine is now loose, and it will be so annoying of it breaks off the mobo.
I don't know anywhere where you can buy the miniport, but surely warrantee will cover fixing the miniport?...
I did almost the exact thing a couple days ago. I only noticed now from this post. My pins were bent but it didn't break. I had to bend it pretty far so my charger would work again. Do you have pictures of what it looks like from the inside? Maybe you can buy a cheap device with the same pin layout?
No Picture
No I dont could take one, the usb port broke off the board I have talked to PocketPCTechs.com They will sale me a USB Port for $25.00 dollars I wish they had a picture of it maybe I will call them for a picture. They also said they will fix it for $79.00 dollars. I would like to do myself but for 79.00 dollars well I think it is well worth it.
I had the same problem 25 for the part 0 for a local company to put it in. pocketpctechs does give you the mogul usb port which I think is better than what comes standard on my kaiser. (humorous fact htc wanted $350 and 3 wks to fix it)
its not covered under warranty its considered misuse
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
there are disassembly pics somewhere on this page, if your comfortable soldering it shouldn't be a problem. did it w/ my 8525.
Hey maybe you can extract the port from this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-HTC-MINI-US...ryZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I get one like the one I posted and it has the HTC symbol on it and everything. It looks OEM to me. Well the mini usb port on there to where you can plug in the headphones has all the pins on there and it seems like you would be able to just extract the one on the adapter for much cheaper. (around $5)
HTC repairs
I recently sent my kaiser to htc repairs USA austin tx and had to give them my credit card number. Anything they find broken not covered by the warranty they fix for $28 which seems cheap since you know they will repair it the right way. Also its oem parts
Hey I am currently living in Austin, TX for school. I just have an ATT Tilt and am not with ATT so I am probably not covered by anything.
damn, smaething happened to me , but it didnt broke off the phone, now that i look at it the usb thing its bend, now I know why the charger didnt want to plug in yesterday...
HTC has a one year warranty and as I stated befor they will fix non warranty items for only $28. That is what I was told when I sent in a Tilt that was not with AT&T.
I think mine must be bent or something too. The USB goes into it to charge, but it falls out really easily. It's not as big of a deal if i am charging it at my house and just leave it alone. The problem is when I'm in my car and it moves around and the charger falls out when it just slides a little bit.

Thats how it started with my apache, now it doesnt charge at all. I found a site on google, search for PPC techs and they do the repair for $60, but you have to be without the phone for that time.
Tilt port repair from HTC USA
Called them about a port repair and was told it would probably be around $350 since it is part of the main board. Might be covered under warranty, up to the technician to determine if it is a normal failure or customer caused.
Too big a crap shoot!!
I just had the same thing happen, and they also told me it was "user error" and that it would be $300+ to fix...... this is clearly a manufacturing/design error and should be covered by warranty!

Just bumping this thread because I have the same problem. One of the metal pins inside the usb port ended up being "pushed down" so my phone wouldn't charge/connect to activesync.
It might be time to move on from an HTC phone, I guess.
The phone was a refurb though, and I've had it for 8 months.

Kaiser USB

I need to replace htc kaiser (Kaiser 130 if this matter) usb but i dont know USB product code. Can someone post it here?
Thanks in advance!
If you mean the USB port on the bottom of the handset, it is part of the flex cable and cannot be bought separately. Flex cables are usually less than $100US.

Indeed it can be replaced. It's a part made by a Taiwanese connector manufacturer Acon (www.acon.com) and if you look on the service manual (accessible through links on the wiki) page 92 shows the connector as Con5 and part no MJE21-11K7P20. Good luck finding someone to supply it but your countries agents for Acon may be a place to start. There are also companies that offer a USB socket replacement service where they do all the work as well as supply the part. Search the USB port failure related threads here for details as their name escapes me.
i have been using my motorola razr charger on my tilt and now its loose and wont charge right, my oem tilt charger still works. anyone else experience this?
can someone post on how easy it was for them to replace the miniusb?
just need to solder it on..its quite easy
easy? for newbies is quite harder with no skills I sugest to you do not do this because you can brick your pda.

Hi,
I don't know where's re located, but many people in the US had very good experience with some companies specialised in PDA reparation. You may want to make a forum search for "broken usb" or similar.
can someone please post on their experience and where is the best place to get the USB connector for the att Tilt, possibly post a tutorial or youtube video on how to do it?
my solution!
hi from germany,
actually i had the same problem with the kaiser a few weeks ago and i searched the whole internet for the usb connector in order to replace my broken one. NO CHANCE!
I call HTC Germany and HTC USA and they were not able to tell me the specifications of the connector. One thing i can say for sure. HTC is NOT! using a standardized USB connector as it is built in other devices (nokia n95, motorola razr etc.).
My solution was: I ordere a display-damaged HTC Tytn 1 and gave it to an electrician who did his job well. He replaced my Kaiser USB connector.
Pretty annyoing, but it worked for me.
Much success to you1

Dropped my phone.... USB not working anymore

Hi guys.
I dropped the phone, and know my phone only charging. (PC can't see my phone any more)
I called to US Samsung center they said to call in Europe lol, because they can't find my phone.,etc.
So guys I need to buy new USB port, to fix damn Note.
Where I can find this part
Thank you for helping.
Best regards.
Hi, sorry to hear about your phone but I don't think you should fix your phone with your own money, the phone comes with a 1 year warranty that should cover such stuff and I'm guessing because the phone is not available in the US yet you might want to go down to a Samsung Customer care to see if they can get it fixed or else I'm afaird you have to do it yourself
BTW which country did you buy it from?
Composed on my Samsung Galaxy Note using XDA Premium app
I'd get a battery charger on ebay asap. Your phone will go flat while you wait though.
Its not a good plan to try your own repair. Its probably a broken solder to usb socket but might be something else and then kill your waranty.
So try to get Samsung to fix it. And a couple of batteris to keep you going till then with external charger.
no understand
Are you saying its charging or not charging? Is the phone rooted if so you won't be able to send for repair, and as your PC can't see it you won't be able to unroot.Try cleaning USB port with nail varnish remover and tooth brush without Battery inserted and leave for 20 minutes to dry.If its not charging then maybe connector has popped off.Its easy to fix just have to remove about 8 screws takes 10 minutes I've done it twice. There are how 2s available on the net.I've looked everywhere for USB port they aren't available yet but toothbrush and nail varnish remover fixed it for me.
i doubt if its a broken solder contact. I think the flex ribbon connector has come loose. if you will open up your phone, then you should just reconnect the flex ribbon connector and your phone should be ok.

Last time I checked manufacturer warranties don't cover "dropped' phones.
There are US service centers that fix phones for a fee.
Guys I call to samsung they telling me to call to europe...

Technical question about USB C port replacement

I have a Razer Phone 2 with the infamous non-working USB C port. There seems to be very little supply for the board itself unless it's a used part and those seem to be farelt expensive. Looking at a teardown video of the phone it looks as though the port itself is attached to a flimsy ribbon type cable attachment. If anyone has any experience with this specific part could you please tell me if there are solder points that could be either reconnected or replaced with a completely new port without replacing the whole board? A friend of mine has a a fair bit of know how when it comes to doing repairs of this sort, but I'd hate to take it apart to try and replace the port it self and risk damaging the seal of the device for no reason at all if this procedure is not even possible without a replacement of the full part. Thank you in advance for any replies. I know this question might be a long shot, but we are just trying to weigh our options and figured someone on here might have the experience to point us in the right direction.

I have the same problem. And since sending it back to Razer( don't get me started on how much there customer support sucks!) would cost more than buying a used phone 2. I am thinking to replace the port. Did you have any luck?
I work in a repair shop where I get these from time to time. You can try a used charge port board, but that doesn't always fix it and that seems to be a temporary fix. I have yet to find the root cause of the charging bootloop on the nearly dozen rp2's I have

replacing usb charging assembly

sadly my n960f-ds' charging port has gotten water damage and needs replacement. I went to update my recovery and rom today and my phone wasn't recognized by pc.. rip. i noticed on ifixit site they specifically sell a 'us/eu single sim charging assembly'. it made me wonder if there is a specifc charging assembly for the dual sim exynos note 9? this will be my first time doing a repair like this so i want to be sure i am doing it correctly and have the right parts. thank you for your time and help.
Locate the PN# on the pcb and use that to get the same replacement. The exynos one likely won't work!
