You could try latest version of Iodak kernel. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270308&page=149)

Yeah, it is included in that kernel, but works only if CPU is not in deep sleep...it's still experimental. I hope some dev continuees the feature... It would be so cool

I think we are missing a required hardware for it to work while CPU is sleeping.

i dont think so, iodaks previous versions had it working even when in deep sleep (kernel keeps digitizer on, but device is deep sleeping, but it was quite buggy)

Even if so, it would waste battery.Wouldn't be exactly the same with G2's dt2w.

it would, yeah, but i dont think it would be THAT bad. it would be like hox's s2w most probably.
I am using the latest Iodak 9.95, but where do I activate this feature? Am I missing something here?

Thats a bug in minicm9 and minicm10..
If your phone does not wakes up then press the power button once again and then press the home button 3-4 times. It should wake up..
Presently i am not using that ROM so cant help you much..

A temporary solution is to use smartassv2 and set the minimum CPU frequency to 245MHz. It works for me (I rarely have this issue) and I hope it works for you.

Stupid Q: won't that affect battery consumption? And if it does, by how much?

Lol. I rarely experience that bug. Maybe once every other day. So my phone is definitely not half dead. Not even close. Just wanted to know if it affects battery consumption significantly since getting rid of that bug altogether would be nice.
Sent from my rooted tomato using xda app
Nope it doesnt affects the battery conumption too much...
Just will alter it to about 3-5%...
This is just a trick of my mind.
Requirements-
Nova launcher
Screen off & lock https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock
Steps-
Screenshot added
Note-
You need to tap power button to unlock, this trick is just works for screen off

hi! i can't select Relock workaround option 2...i'm on apex launcher pro.
Yeah ! This thing is pretty Cool !
Aaye! I am also using the same thing! It feels very cool
However, I have assigned the Screen Off app to Swipe Down gesture of the Nova launcher.
Yes, its sad that we have no way to Switch On with any gesture as it needs hardware interaction. But, still, I have tried some solutions, which included Proximity Sensor of the Phone, and they were just amazing
i use slimbean
and with volume wake and this lock trick, i don't touch my lock button at all ^^
only when i need to shut down my phone

that would be perfect, i hope that the update will come soon, since it has been some time since any of main kernels got official update from devs itself ^^
double tap to wake and this trick, well, i can just forgot the lock button
i only hope that that will not lead to big battery consumption :fingers-crossed:
Touchscreen has to stay awake. So yes it will drain some small amount more. But you can always disable it if you dont like/need it.

This kernel works only on AOSP ROMs such as CyanogenMod, but not including any Google Play edition or Sense ROMs. This kernel works on all variants of the M8 that I know of (Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, International, Google Play edition, Developer Edition).
Features:
Kernel Mode NEON
Motorola Memutils
ARM-optimized Crypto driver
Power Efficient Workqueues from Linaro
Linaro CPU Topology driver

I flashed the hotplug zip and was able to OC to 2.4 Ghz. I haven't tried anything else yet.
Okay wanted to ask this before I flashed but actually saw your source before this was posted and was really hoping to see this kernel soon, so I couldn't wait. But question on my mind and not sure if you will know the answer yet. Since it is based off of Liquids kernel, is there a possibility this could trigger the encryption bug? Super excited to see what this kernel can do and thanks for putting it all together.

Kernel tweaker can modify cpuquiet governors which trickster can't. Nothing can change msm hotplug settings unfortunately. I would try one of those two apps and see which you like better.

Surprisingly, no. I had assumed it would, but I guess flar is still working on that. I could make you a build with it though (might be at the cost of dt2w and s2w). If I can though, I'll try to add it to his wake gesture code so we have all three.
Dbl tap to wake is easy but agreed a soft sleep will be nice. I'm getting by with Slimkat's sleep toggle but the nav sweep is a nice touch. Thanks so much for giving it a go if you do!

Sounds like this will be a good one to try. For some of those asking about S2S, what launchers are you using? I was waiting for it, and finally decided ( I'm using Inspire Launcher, of course this will work with Nova, too) to assign a double tap on the display to sleep it as well.
Woot woot!

So not sure if this is the way it is, but after flashing hotplug. Two cores and it is random which two not always the same two are locked at max speed. They never go down to 300mhz or anything slower. They just get stuck at max speed. I can change the max speed and they change with that speed but they are always whatever speed I set it to. Is this the want the hotplug driver is setup?
hi guys, so was anyone able to enable fingerprint wakeup while screen is off (without turning screen on first) in miui8 global rom? I mean with soft touch on the fingerprint without pressing the home button...
this feature was added in custom roms, but when I tried the same trick in miui8 it didn't work.. anyone suceeded? TIA!
Add this as a custom control using kernel audiutor. It's not perfect though sometimes you need to disable and then re-enable it on reboots
thanks for your help mate! but I don't use kernel adiutor.. and to add custom controls probably it is needed the donation version so.. I prefer to buy xMIUI donate version atm will look for alternative solutions thanks again though!

You can build his apk from source and remove the function for requiring donate key I just bought it though, it is only cheap and I use it a lot
way beyond my capabilities...
I could buy it too, that's not a so big expense, but also I don't use google services/play store, so I don't even know if I could actually! (don't think can get a unlock key after donating but only buy it from the play store..) so...

Hi!
I've been having this problem for a while now. I'm on EU 8.12.13 / Sphinx 1.9 (Even though I tried different versions, kernels the problem is still there.)
Basically it keeps my phone awake a lot. I mean a lot. It barely goes to deep sleep. Sometimes restarting the phone fixes it but eventually it comes back.
Android System eats it all, specially the alarms I'm about to show you on my screenshots.
Can someone tell me how to fix this? I think it has something to do with wifi scanning or not. I wish there's an app like Amplify that you guys might know to help me with this issue. Thanks!
