unlock it for what provider? its a sim-less unit.
i know its a simless unit. This is a cdma unit for sprint. Getting the MSL to enter my own phone number in the EPST. Without it i wont be able to provision it for a specific carrier
i finally got it thanks. For others who want to know how to get it i used cdma workshop 2.7 i tried reading the SPC, click on RAM and custom start address at 0100. Just got it from the other forum
they gave me my msl over the phone because I added my old phone # to it. You could call and say you got a sprint phone, want to sign up for service, (you'll have to do that), then they'll give you the msl code. I've tried getspc, but the value I got was different then what sprint gave me.
I received a brand new touch pro yesterday from Sprint. I performed an activation online and I can place calls and send text messages with no problems. However, the internet connection doesn't work. I called sprint and they tried to get me to program the phone but the unlock code they provided doesn't work. They gave me two unlocked codes to try. I even tried to use the GETSPC program and the codes generated there still doesn't work. Any reason why? I noticed that under the device information section, the MEID displays the HEX rather than the DEC number. Is there a way to fix this issue? Thanks.
It's an account provisioning problem. Stop by a Sprint store and have them look up your account. Otherwise, just get the unit exchanged if it still doesn't work.
So, I'm working on my friends hero and he was unable to activate it because he boutght it used. The old account holder had a suspended account and sprint told him that they cannot activate it until he pays his bill.. so doing some work, I was able to get his calls\texts to works, but still no data, yes he has a data plan but the phone keeps getting error 67, could anyone tell me how to get his data to work correctly.
And could anyone give me the settings set in ##778#? Also ##3282# I do not need your esn info and username info,
Thanks, any help and advice is appreciated.

Hey man, I had that same error when I swapped phones with a friend. I called sprint and they had me enter one of those codes (can't remember which one), enter msl when it asks<press menu<edit<profile<press menu<then restore. I don't have my phone with me here at work so i'm just going off the top of my head but hopefully it helps. Just in one of those codes try to find where you can restore the profile and that worked for me.
Well I can't call sprint because I had to do an e$n change to his old lg rant.. but do to legal issues, I cannot discuss that on these forums..
Have just got Hands on HTC One
While going to Diag Mode ##3424# it ask for MSL
So only way now to get MSL is via Sprint or Adb
Tried ADB with Command "getprop ril.MSL" in adb shell but not able to get SPC
Seems Root is Required.
If somebody has got a Better method to get the SPC from Sprint HTC One
Update
Rooted the Phone
Used MSL Reader from MArket Still its not working
Have Attached the LOG Cat from MSL Reader
if its of any help
I had a chat rep give me the MSL during activation. I asked once, next reply was with the MSL. Usually I have to argue with them or they give you all the steps and call it security code they won't say MSL. It's hit or miss, if I get a stupid rep just hang up & call back.

I got it without root and was able to change my PRL as well.

Little known fact. I am unsure if they will let you do it. But anyplace that sells sprint can get you your MSL (doesn't need to be Corporate store) all they need to do is this. If they're using the SNAP sprint system at the end of the activation process where they print out Discount Coupon. There is an option for manual programming. Have them click that, then there is another button for detailed instructions. (takes 2 seconds) and your MSL is there.
So for example (I use Radioshack a lot because work there) if you buy the phone at Radioshack just tell the associate before you finish with the upgrade of the sprint site to do that. Or if you already upgraded the device. If you have a device to swap to. Just do a service swap back and forth. And same thing. Click the manual programming button. As far as I know. This only works with SNAP

Are you sure you did ##DIAG# in the dialer? I did that and got it just fine. ##DATA# on the other hand launched the dialog with View Mode or Edit Mode (which needed the MSL).
I get this attached screenshot as soon as I enter ##DIAG#.
When u Press Select "On" it ask for MSL
Till than no drivers are getting installed
If u try entering Wrong MSL 2times Phone gets Rebooted

Same problem in here whenever i dial ##3424# and select ON asks for MSL code, so i cant get Diag enabled, any ideas?
the easiest way to get MSL is to contact support and tell them you have no network or limited network.
at least for sprint anyways, its always worked for me

I did this... (not connected to a sprint account and got my MSL). I'm sure there's an easier way... but i pulled the EPST apk files from the sense 5 port for EVO LTE (DMCommandService.apk, EPST.apk, FieldTrial.apk, HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk) replaced them before flashing a rom... BOOM! HTC diag runs without asking for the MSL.
Installed diag drivers (kinda tricky) then used cdmaDevTerm to give me my MSL... (calling sprint is much easier)
By the way, the open sesame door method, QPST and DFS all works for the HTC One to backup your IMEI

Forum member made a script. No root, no activation, no calling Sprint.

This is incorrect. The code printed on that sheet is a one time lock code and will be useless after it is used to program the phone.
It is not the master lock code.

It was already activated?
The thing is people are reporting that if it is NOT activated that the DIAG command requires the MSL.

Maybe that's a valid reason.
Valid or not there is a way around it and people want to know. So the information has been published.

I got my One about a month ago (first droid phone!) and have been trying to get the unlock code from htcdev.com, but it never sends it. I've gone through the unlock steps for "all other supported models", successfully submitted the Device Identifier Token and just wait for the email it says it sent with the file attachment. It never arrives. I even set up a 2nd account using gmail and the same thing. I've tried from Firefox and Chrome. I have tried this about 15 times now and getting pretty annoyed. Is this typical? Why the hell don't they send the code like they say they did? I manage the server with the email account I initially used, so I have access to all of the raw email server logs and nothing from htc is ever in there except for when I initially created the account and I received the email to activate the account.
All I want to do is get this stupid AT&T software off my phone so I can tether and use the net the way god intended
Since this is my first android phone, I'm not an expert on the ROM scene. From what I've read I probably want to install an International ROM and I believe the only way to do that involves unlocking the bootloader. Are there any other ways to do this if HTC won't send the unlock code for my phone?
I appreciate the help. I love this phone but want to get rid of half the crap that is on it that I can't remove and I don't use a single AT&T app.
I used this method to unlock, read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582

I have an HTC One on AT&T and didn't have a problem. Not sure what's going on with HTC Dev.
