My phone came only with the wap.cingular APN on it. What is the LTE setting that everyone is using? I noticed that there are some changes in the settings going from an S4 to the S5.
The g900v is the Verizon variant, no? This is the at&t s5 forum. G900a.

I don't believe that this phone is capable of LTE. I think it is only capable of HSPA+ (21 Mbps). I live in a refarmed area and my speeds have never changed.
Well it is capable of LTE on AT&Ts network but ironically not on T-Mobile's. The T-Mobile note has the exact same radio as the AT&T note does thus it does not have the added new T-Mobile frequencies for LTE. So unlocked T-Mobile notes can access AT&T LTE networks but not their own LTE network.

It's all about the frequencies, our phone is for the most part exactly the same phone as the AT&T Note. With exactly the same radio. Although it's capable of receiving T-Mobile 4g it's not able to use T-Mobile LTE as they use different frequencies. However to answer your question if your phone was nand unlocked, you have an AT&T sim card, and flashed an AT&T Note Modem then yes you can use AT&T's LTE with this phone.

I was having some slow data connection so decided to call this AM. To my surprise they are telling me that my phone is not compatible with the Cricket LTE towers. It even shows I have LTE on the status bar.
How is that possible other than them not wanting to give me LTE since I did not buy the phone through them?
I might as well switch to Straight Talk if that is the case.

They're flat wrong and just trying to get you off the phone. With the Lollipop update the Pure edition supports all of AT&T's LTE bands (2/3/4/5/7/17) so it also supports Cricket since they are an AT&T MVNO.
If you check out Howard Forums you'll see that you're not alone in experiencing slow LTE speeds.
http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php/336-Cricket-AIO
On the Cricket website there is a compatibility section where you enter the IMEI number it says the phone is only compatible with 3g not LTE. Makes no sense.
Just gonna keep it simple and switch to Net10 or Straight Talk instead of worrying about it. If they want my business they shouldn't be inaccurate!
I'm on cricket wireless and I have to build an APN for LTE to work.

Will what did you do to "build" your APN for LTE to work with AT&T / Cricket ?

Go to cricket's website and search for APN settings. Enter those on your phone. My XT 1095 has had perfect connectivity on crickets LTE using those settings.

Thanks, works great! I was confused by the one post about "building" a APN lol... I thought I was missing something but was more than likely just poor English. I got it working though even with a trimmed down micro SIM lol.
When I first put my cricket sim in, they automatically pushed all the apn settings to my phone.

I never send mms but I just tried it to make sure it worked and their pushed settings was wrong as well. I did the same as you. You would think that they would get the apn setting right. I've had LTE the entire time, just no mms.

My theory is this: for whatever reason cricket thinks our phone is 3G only (run your imei on cricket's compatibility checker) and therefore pushes apn settings meant for 3G phones.

You may need to set up your APN manually.

I can think of ways to do it if you are rooted, but not without. If you have already manually configured your apn settings and it won't toggle on, it's likely that your sol.
Why you are using a locked-down vzw variant on T-mobile is the real question. Freebie?

It was a gift they didn't know so I have to go do a trade in to T Mobile
I see. Well I am sorry we couldn't offer more help, but unfortunately this is a unique predicament that likely has no good (non root) answer.

First. yep I'm trying to learn what I am doing lol I have only messed with a HTC Sensation a couple years ago. Now with A AT&T Flex D950, from what I read is the Flex1. mine is Ver 4.4.2, Kernel 3.4.0, Build KOT49I.D95020g.. What I have done is fire AT&T, unlocked sim, went back to T-Mobile, and rooted.. I have no LTE but all else seems to be fine.
I started looking in to fixing the LTE issue, de-bloat, see if I can get the other T-Mo functions to work like WIFI calling and so forth, maybe do more. Needs to be good for my daily device.
The more I have read, the more I am confusing myself about what I can get away with. Like what works across flex models, radio drivers that work with what I need and so forth. Need some advice/help to get me on the right track. I would like to stick with my flex so any help would be greatly appreciated..
Please keep in mind I am learning as I go here
You should do some research on what LTE bands in your area that T-Mobile supports. Maybe the at&t model/radio doesn't support those bands.
What Sim unlock method did you [email protected]_XV6700 has some experience with cross Dll and radios. I would point you to his thread..... But its been deleted
Thanks for the post!
I unlocked with the code number. I will look in to dll and radio mods by trying to PM.
I could be wrong but I'm thinking LTE is another problem, unless T-Mobile is not using a band we have in common in Calif. I travel a lot and have not seen LTE anywhere to include Bay Area, So Cal, and the central valley. I could be wrong about that tho. Maybe I'll get lucky and find out about a radio mod that helps. My Samsung's have LTE band options, and this Flex has no such options to be found..

D950 also has LTE band options through the secret menu.
Use 3845#*950# from dialpad to access the secret menu, got to LTE only menu and you have the bands there

I use the "Network" app from the playstore to switch bands. The reason I asked is because I unlocked my sprint branded g flex to use with cricket, and the sprint radio does not have the LTE bands for at&t/cricket. But H+ works just as well in my are as LTE.
Here is the supported model bands, but not sure of usable bands in your area:

That's not working on mine, well it works just shows nul.. I went into build.prop file last night, changed att to open. I now have LTE with 39mbps down speed ? thinking I need to go back in that file and change any "att" to open or tmo? Was also wondering if I change model # to tmo flex # would that open up stuff on network like wifi calling?? I don't want to go too far with the build.prop file lol I know if I screw up that file I'll have to wipe and start over, if not brick this thing..
Sent from my LG-D950 using XDA Free mobile app
LTE is working now, went in to build.prop file and changed att to open. That opened up bands on it's own. Seems that's what had it locked to att band's only. Do ya know what else I can get away with modifying build.prop?

Make a nandroid backup, backup your EFS partition. Save it on your computer, and you can save your phone from most bricks. There is a couple of band mods on the g flex 2 section of XDA that use "shortcut master" from the play store, check it out.
Also check out xposed, its awesome.
Will do

There's a thread in the AT&T G2 section where a T-Mobile rom was ported to the AT&T variant:http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/development/rom-t-mobile-4-4-2-stock-d80120e-wi-fi-t2819587
I only have satellite Internet service, so I haven't downloaded it to try and dig through to figure out how he did it.
Looking at porting guides, it looks easy except that the WiFi calling is in the Framework folder, or so they say. Maybe someone here who knows what they're doing would be willing to embark on this journey for those of us who could use it.
