Hello there all!
Recently I've switched from a Galaxy S3 to the HTC One and I'm really loving it. I have got some questions on it however. With my S3 rooting and putting custom firmware on the device was really easy. I'm sure I'll be able to root the One as well and put custom recovery and firmware on it. The question I have however, is whether it is possible to unroot and go back to stock, S-On and relock the boot loader without a trace, or rather without voiding the warranty. I really want to try out the Sense 6 Roms, but if I cannot go back to the original state of the phone and the stock firmware, I'm not sure whether I should do this. Can anyone shed light on the situation?
Thanks in advance!

You can get it back to "out of the box" state if you are able to achieve S-Off, otherwise not... can you post a "fastboot getvar all" (excluding IMEI and s/n)
Here's my guide on returning 100% back to stock including S-ON, but you need S-Off to accomplish it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082

i think firewater should work on that model, but i cannot confirm it! And since I'm not actively following any firewater threads, maybe best to go ask in one of them, as there have been plenty of problems with the newer phones (and yours is about as new as they come 4.19.401.11).
there is a "fastboot oem <something>" command you can run which would allow the devs to tell you if your device is supported or not, but i don't know the details unfortunately.
If this is something of crucial importance to you, I recommend you check out the various firewater and rumrunner threads (even IRC) to see if your device is supported or not.
Good Luck

Hello friends. First of all, I apologize if I am not very clear, but I have little knowledge of English, and to be faster I'll use a translator...
Since about a week ago, my HTC One Developer Edition is showing me errors with WiFi and Bluetooth. These are off steadily even when in use. At first I thought it was a failure of the last installed ROM (ARHD 40.1), but I've tried others such as CM11 without installing any mod and restore my latest nandroid backup, but I have had the same result.
Apart from changing the ROM all I remember doing is to update the firmware, so yesterday I upgraded to the new firmware version to see if solved, but still follows the failure. Do not think it's a hardware failure because the mobile is not second hand, has not suffered any drop and was always working perfectly, so I ask your help and attached the information that shows the phone using fastboot getvar all command if serving them for a diagnosis. Thanks in advance.

Either one will do, they're just slightly different version numbers 1.29.1540.16 and 1.29.1540.3, might as well go for the .16. You'll have to download from here: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-file-downloads/
then you can follow my guide (in my signature), because you need to downgrade hboot to 1.44 separately first, before you can run the RUU. (just the first part about downgrading hboot, the rest of the guide is for people who want to return the phone for warranty)
Also keep S-Off, do NOT go S-On!!!

Yes, but I don't see changes. (Later, I change the "Keep WiFi on during idle" to Always), but just keeps running and then switching off when it want, and when it goes off, just says "activating", infinite loop until I restart.. Same for bluetooth.

Well, without ideas, I sent the phone to HTC America, for guarantee. I had to pay $ 70 shipping because I live in Dominican Republic (No HTC), but after 15 days I received my phone in perfect working (they did not even scratch), and by the way, apparently they changed my camera ... It's not purple!
Thanks for all your help friends. :highfive:
Hi!
My brother tried to update the latest update for his HTC One and at some point it restarted and is now stuck in the white starting screen.
It's stock, I just unlocked the bootloader, but apart from that I would like to not root the phone.
I tried several things - I can get into the bootloader and also into fastboot, I did a factory reset and wiped the cache, nothing helped.
For some reason I can't do some things through fastboot, if I try for example to do "fastboot continue" I get "resuming boot... FAILED (remote: not allowed)".
Here is the bootloader information:

I'm not too familiar with restoring a stock phone, but I would try running an RUU.
As you phone is stock anyway you should only need to run the RUU.exe.
I would try following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
You might need to gain S-OFF to then downgrade your HBOOT version for some RUUs to work.

The problem with running an RUU is that there isn't one for this version.
It's a O2 Germany, with the cidnum: O2___102 - I googled a lot, but I couldn't find a RUU for this, only a nandroid backup, which I can't use because I haven't CWM or a different CR.
Also to get S-OFF I need to root the phone which I didn't want to do.
Problem is solved anyways, my brother brought the phone to the store to get it fixed - let's hope he doesn't have to pay because I unlocked the HBOOT.
Thanks for your help!

Shouldn't have to pay, I know all this thing about warranty voiding if you unlock the boot loader, but i've never had this issue or know anyone that has. My brother took his HTC back as the USB port became loose and developed a faulty connection, fully rooted, s-off and unlock boot loader!
They fixed it no questions asked, only they did flash an RUU so the phone was s-on and locked again.
Should be fine
Hi guys. I have an M7UL, which I purchased from the Middle East. My One is having the stupid purple tint problem. So I don't really have a choice but to send it for repair. didnt understand that question, you mean why the firmware is newer on your phone? -> it's cause it was already updated, before being shipped, that's all.

Use a Win7 machine
If you cant get your hands on one, then create an Ubuntu 12.04 Live USB (32bit) (use the "Try Ubuntu" option, no need to install): http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows
install adb & fastboot using:
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb android-tools-fastboot
Since ruu.exe (windows) doesn't work on linux, you'll need to use this instead: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-zip/
using the RUU.ZIP method in my guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082 post #3
I wanted to experiment a bit with rooting. I guess I wasn't extremely informed. Anyways, I used the Guru reset(I can't post outside links) , and I guess did not have the matching software. My touchscreen does not work, I tried to do the OTA update like suggested but after the restart to install the update it said the update failed. Now my Wi-Fi is stuck "turning on" so I can't try to run the update again. I don't know what to do, and I can't find it. I don't know what else to include so that you can help me but if you have questions I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.

1- edit your post and remove IMEI (that shouldnt be shared publicly)
2- since you are S-On you need to relock your bootloader using fastboot oem lock then you can use this RUU.EXE:
RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_Cingular_US_4.18.502.7_R10_Radio_4T.24.3218.09_10.26.1718.01L_release_356565_signed_2.exe
note that your bootloader will say RELOCKED not LOCKED, the only way to set it back to LOCKED is if you are S-Off. but the phone will be completely stock after the RUU, so unless you're selling the phone or going for warranty, then RELOCKED shouldnt matter.

It worked, Thank you! I've ran multiple RUU exes and I've tried some .zips but all of them were the wrong version I guess. I've been working on this for around 4 days now, and this is a huge load off my mind.

I'm not sure how to edit the title.
Edit: Never mind, it was in advanced, but I also don't know how to delete posts or else I would have deleted this.

First of all I'd just like to apologise as I know this question has been asked many times but looking through the forums all the guides eventually veer off to something specific about a device that mine doesn't seem to match. I've also seen that things seem to go wrong more often returning to stock than it does actually rooting it.
I'm soon upgrading to the Oneplus Two which I plan to root the day I get it and I'm going to sell this HTC so I'm looking for the noobest step by step instruction on how to return this phone to stock. Stock software, stock recovery and anything else that I can return to stock.

That's perfect, thank you very much
Also do I need the signed one or the 's-off only' one?

You need the signed one because your device is s-on. You will also need to relock your bootloader or the flash will fail the signiture check :good:
