I would like to use my phones internet connection to play battlefield 4 online tru WiFi hotspot function on ps4. Is the phones WiFi fast enough to do this without lag?
My country does not have local console servers.

Wrong forum, this should be in the Q&A section, And to answer your question, depends on your Network provider. If it's LTE and stable then yeah it should work fine.
It depends on your mobile network speed. If you have hsdpa with 7,2 mbps it should be fast enough.
LTE in Poland, World of Tanks, Xperia Z- ping 100. Same sim card and place with Samsung LTE router - ping 50. And check NAT on Vita some games (CoD) doesn't work.

check which server you connect
and servers dont behave same all the time
depends on your hardware as well
This difference is always even at the same time. I've checked it for over one year. And it occurs in other games two.

It's stable and average speed. Pinging 40 on national servers playing counterstrike on my laptop, would be 5 on fiber. Lagfree, nothing spectacular.

Network lag will make the game unplayable - as well as BF4's own awfully bad hit detection and netcode you'll want to kill yourself. Playing multiplayer games using LTE like that will only be viable really for turn based games - maybe like Pokemon, rather then a twitch shooter like BF4.

Phone is always brightness full, 3G, data on, downloading some stuff and FB is always running my V last about 4hrs on heavy use and light use for about 11hrs or more if I turn off some stuff... its actually quite good even if its running on a 1750 mAH battery hehehe also BatteryGuru helps alot!
What's the point of this thread if it's for Filipino only?

thread like this is normal, just look at some other devices(especially the Nexuses), they have similar threads like this for people with the same nationality(or currently in the country for some reason) to share and discuss their experiences on their phone carriers, local availability of the phone, accessories etc.
but of course everybody is also not prohibited to join in the discussion, everybody is welcome

Does Smart have a data usage cap with its "unlimited" data? If yes, what is the cap? And, does Smart LTE work for Prepaid yet?

On Globe's "Unlimited" SuperSurf, there's an 800MB-cap for a day. Once reached, no way to register to another data promo. You need to wait until 12mn or spend P5/15mins. Bummer...
Edit: Found out that Smart has a 1.5GB cap for 1 month. I'll stick with Globe then.
Guys help. Can someone share a ftf of Smart locked Xperia V JB firmware thanks. I can't get lte connection. It reached only hspa+.

Do you have LTE connection when you update to JB? Can I get the SI Number? Because I flashed generic nordic JB firmware and lost my LTE connection, only HSPA+ the max connection I got.

Sorry, thought they reconsidered based on the thread title,
I was saying if he still has warranty on his phone, he should send it back, here in Philippines, Sony service is so strict, yet they don't know what they're doing.

Does Xperia SP really have terrible WIFI strength?
If it does I am not sure I wanna buy it.
I don't have any probs with WiFi connection or connection being dropped...... think it was sorted when they updated from .211

No problem after updating to .284
No problem for me too.....
From Xperia SP C5302 XPERIALISED
My signal is pretty shocking, I've had to move my router so I can get a signal through the whole house. No other devices had any such issue.
xperia sp certainly has some problem with wifi.
you can check at sony forum also
Mine is in .211 firmware.
It has WiFi issues. It automatically disconnects even if we are in range of WiFi, & does not connect again so I have to go to the WiFi settings again to connect it

My wifi range is about 3 meters less than my nexus 7, but it never disconnects
Awful Wifi. Even though I liked the phone, I returned it because of the horrible WiFi.
Mine is fine, just as good as my s and tablet z
Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk 4
Both sony phones i have owned had poor wi fi range, xperia sp is the same compared to my old one s and my nexus 7 but its not terrible i never get drop outs in my house, just signal strength is usually a bar less than my other devices.
Mine's fine, better than the Xperia U!
I'm suffering from WiFi disconnects
The ZR disconnects and reconnects every few minutes
The vendor stated that if the router (AP) does not support the 802.11n standard, the WiFi will disconnect
But, SHOULD it disconnect?
I have tested on several APs, if I use these devices as a WiFi host, the WiFi disconnects:
- Dlink DI-624S
- RUCKUS WIRELESS ( unknown model )
And these APs work with ZR smoothly without disconnects:
- HTC Incredible S
- Buffalo WHR-HP-G450
- Dlink DIR-632
Does anyone has the same problem?
Any information will be helpful
P.S. I'm running stock 4.2.2 on stock kernel

any ideas?

got the same problem as yours, but mine's only disconnecting when I'm using AirDroid and sending large files to my phone which do not happen when I'm just browsing the web. no Idea about it though

I am using many wifi connections, in my house which does not support 802.11n, in my work which we have several ap, in university, friends houses, I have used it twice in train stations and public places!
And no disconnections! and by that I mean absolutely no problem like yours! and I have C5502 like you (the non-LTE one!) so I'm not sure about that, but you might want to try define your router manually!
Same as the other guy, wifi works flawleslly on my c5502

I'm interested to find out what speed your Z connects to your WiFi routers and hotspots.
I thought the Z was capable of connecting to a wireless N router at 150mbs. My Z will only ever connect to any WiFi at a maximum of 75mbs.
I've messed with router settings, changed channels, updated firmware, the lot.
Today at work, one of our office ladies wanted her new phone putting onto our company WiFi. It turned out to be an Xperia SP. When I was checking her connection, I noticed her SP was connected at 150mbs, while my Z, on exactly the same network and access point, was connected at 72
Is there anything I can change on the phone to get a higher speed? Any suggestions?
