Hi, I am sorry if I dont get the correct terminology, I am not sure of how this works properly. I have been searching for a ROM that I can use on my Galaxy S3 mini i18190N, its got NFC included. Is there one? I have rooted it so for with Cyanogen MOD by Nova, but its not with NFC, and it has major battery problems and the Wifi-Direct doesnt work. I have been with them since last December, but nothing has changed. I am not an expert, so would need a little bit of direction. I have been running the nightlies so I have flashed my phone almost every night since December. I have been using Clockwork Touch to Flash the ROM. My Carrier is EE, in the UK. Can somebody post me in the right direction please.

Hi John
Welcome to the s3 mini forums
i would assume your search did not turn up any information of a ROM that has NFC support
sadly that is because there is none currently
should you wish to have NFC support for your phone it would mean loading a stock ROM and rooting that then making a few mods to that as per your preferences
best place to start would be running a search for the latest firmware for your model of phone then working from there

Hi,
Does anyone still have the stock rom for Vodafone 1.14.161.5? On their site, there is version 1.14.161.6, but I would like to get the stock 1.14.161.5.
Thanks!!
anyone still has this rom version?
I'm pretty certain the stock ROM for Vodafone is 1.14.161.6 (50207). It even list that in the wiki here. Unfortunately, I can't turn up the stock ROM even from Vodafone's website. I only found radios there. Normally you can find them HERE, but I didn't see it. Hopefully someone else can point you towards the stock ROM.
I'm pretty sure that when I bought my phone, it got the 1.14.161.5 on it, but I can't seem to find a link to this version of the rom.

Well, I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, but I can't even find that version in a search. I always end up back at this thread or a few from over a year ago asking for it. Every link I've found is to download 1.14.161.6. There is a thread HERE with that version, if you like.
How long ago did you get your phone ? When I bought my phone over a year ago from Vodafone UK, it was before WM 6.5 came out, and it came with the 1.14.161.6 ROM. Why do you want to go back to an even older ROM ?
Hi everyone,
Before I begin, I just want to say that I've searched for a clear answer (here and on some french forums), et and I really didn't understand anything... Since I bought my Note a few hours ago. I'm new to this.
I just don't get anything, with all the Odin and kernels stuffs...
So, let me explain my problem : I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Note that was previously simlocked (at SFR, I'm in France, and I'm with Orange), the seller said it was sim unlocked at a store (but hey, I don't know if it's true).
Thing is, the Note has a Custom Rom, and I'd really prefer a Stock one (I don't like JKay, I want OTA update etc..).
But :
1) I don't understand anything. CFW is installed, if that can help you... I don't know which Rom I should take, how to install it... I'm Lost.
2) Do I lose the sim unlock by reverting to a stock rom ? If so, how to keep the unlock ?
Since I'm a real newbe, I took a screenshot of the "About the Phone" section to give you more details. It's right here
Thanks to all of you, have a nice day =)
Daz.
I just bought a GSM unlocked Galaxy S3 (edit: i9300, android 4.0) and went with T-Mobile's online pre-paid plan. It's all stock except for having root access through CF auto-root. Edit: the device is not rooted, just using CF auto-root to give apps root access. Everything is still stock as far as I understand how CF auto-root works. The device is still running 4.0 and no updates are available. Are we being left behind? Or was there an update, and if so, why can't I see it?
Edit: I haven't checked KiesAir, and I'm not at a machine that can allow me to do that with my phone. I'll try that tonight after work, but if somebody could chime in, I'd still appreciate that.
Apologies in advance if this is posted in the wrong forum or if I'm asking a questions that's been asked a hundred times already. I've tried digging in the forums for an answer, but it's far too time-consuming and produces little or no results.

Hi Diashi!
1. Q & A Forum is the right place to ask - no reason to be worried.
2. You bought the LTE version (GT-I9305) ??? - 'cause you only wrote Galaxy S3 - if so, this is the best place to ask.
3. We're not being left behind - but if you got an unlocked and rooted device, you will not receive OTA's (Over The Air Updates)!
You'll have to flash them manually with Odin (Windows), or Heimdall (Linux), or through CWM recovery.
So the first thing you have to do is, check if you have a GT-I9300 (no LTE) or a GT-I9305 (LTE).
And if you still have questions > feel free to ask!
Welcome on XDA

It's an i9300, which has LTE. The phone is not rooted and there are no roms installed. I simply installed SuperSU.apk with CF auto-root to allow root access to apps that require root. I did this so that updating the OS wouldn't be an issue in the future, but i don't know yet if this is absolutely the case.
Thanks for replying KuliX. Anybody else who wishes to weigh in, it's all appreciated.
Edit for clarification.

To your understanding:
Go to Settings > About device > model number
GT-I9300 = no LTE
GT-I9305 = LTE
there is definitely no device with Model number GT-I9300 AND LTE!!!
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR YOU!!!
CF-auto-root means = your phone is ROOTED - not just for some apps which require root - YOUR WHOLE DEVICE IS ROOTED!
The only different is, you do not have a custom recovery like CWM.

KuliX

Ahhh, I see. So if KiesAir turns out to be fruitless, should I try to install 4.1 somehow through Odin the same way I installed auto-root? I'm not even sure where I would look for instruction to do that. Oh, wait. What about 4.2? Is there a version of that for i9300? Sorry for being such a grunt, but answering these questions should help other people in my same situation.
Also, the wiki for the i9300 says it has voice over LTE, but I'm guessing not data. That's a real disappointment. I thought the i9300 had everything. It's not a deal breaker though.

There is no Android Version higher than 4.1.2 - that's the latest brand new firmware!
You can get it here
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware
And I would suggest you to switch over to GT-I9300 forum - cause you will run into heavy problems if you flash the wrong firmware!!!
And YES - you can flash newer firmware with Odin!
I'll give this a go and might report back later. You've been a great help, KuliX. Thanks!
I am happy to report that my phone was able to update from 4.0 to 4.1 through Kies (not KiesAir) - while I was using CF auto-root - without a single hitch. Everything is in place as it was before the update: rooted apps, settings and all.
Special thanks to Chainfire for making CF auto-root, an my life a lot easier. And thanks KuliX for providing some valuable info.
Hopefully this will help somebody else out there.
A little confused, do you have the 9300 or 9305 as the 9300 does NOT have LTE.
Go to settings>About device
I am a little concerned for you as if you have been sold the 9300 as having LTE it does not! So you may not have something that you have paid for.

The seller on eBay had a long stat and feature page which said the phone had LTE. Technically, it does - for voice. But not for data. This isn't something that I was aware of until KuliX brought it up. I'm not disheartened, though. T-Mobile seems to have plenty of HSPA+ in Los Angeles, and by the time they get real LTE up next year (probably summer or later), some new Samsung whatever will be out and I'll just rotate to that.
The i9300 I bought was for $620 (roughly), and included tax and shipping. It's the best price I could find. Little details like this are something I'll consult with members on XDA in the future, before I buy. This was really just my mistake.
Edit: sentence structure.
As long as you are happy! That is what counts!

that can be changed it can do it on data too voice and data use the same paths thrue the modem and radio you just have to flash it to the firmware
of the SCH-T999 to the radio or edit it to include the data portion the radios and modems are same between phones im allmost 95% sure of that
based on my resarch of the phones and also on the I9305 the same. T-mobile doesnt have 4G or LTE they use the 1700mhz band Odd Tiering
both the SCH-T999 and the Samsung GT-i9300 have the same radios and modem its my theory that if you add the firmware from the T-999 are the same , now dont get confused the Roms are diffrent because quad core vs dual core and the Snapdragon S4 processor is in the T-mobile version but that has nothing to do with the modem or the radio modules, its all programming.. because if you look at the spects for the T-mobile side version T999 version it doesnt even list the LTE for regional now guys let me say some thing why would they use LTE for voice when GSM has more then enough for the band space for voice? that makes no sense...its the FCC regulation and certification of operation, its just programming guys that is all.
I want install a EU ROM from n910F on my n910T, because I need a polish language and how to change csc to xeo?

If you go to the Canadian Note 4 topic in the general subsection of the main Note 4 forum there's a data/signal fix for 5.0 that lets you get international roms to recognize your sim card. If you flash the rom you want followed by the patch followed by a compatible lollipop kernel (I recommend ael v13 but the KT one works too I think) back to back and then reboot you can run pretty much any stock based international rom on the n910t and n910w8.
Edit; forgot to clarify the rom has to be a snapdragon one, xynos is different hardware so no workaround there.

I have not problem with recognizing sim card, it recognizez but people can't call me sometimes and i can't call sometimes (not registered on network error). The main reason i want to do that is because i have a very bad signal, very bad voice quality and call interruptions and i barely understand what people say to me on the phone...
~David yeah, f*** this phone..
Yea, me to I have a problem with bad signal and SOMETIMES with recognizing sim card Lol...

Do the calls come/ go through, but one party can't hear theother? Or is iit amatter oif calls outright not being able to be made or received? If it's the former I've run into that on other roms aand reflashing them worked 9 times out of ten.
hello maybe is a easy one for someone with more knowledge than me,
can i flash another variant on the phone??
i just bought one from nook and tomorrow will arrive i bought the nook version since its cheaper and i only will use it to read and maybe one or two photos,
but i was wondering if i could flash another rom since the model is also SM-T710 i was hoping i could flash the rom from the united states one to enable more languages
i also have octoplus if needed ,thanks i hope someone can help me
Yes from what I understand the nook is the exact same other than a few pre loaded apps and stuff but essentially the same tablet after stripped from its nook branding. So yes you should be able to flash custom roms for that model.
Thanks for the reply ,I already did it and is working totally fine, thanks and have a nice day
No worries, enjoy
