Very interesting!
Can you confirm it is Kit Kat 4.4.3?
It is not. In the OP, I state.... "I hope this update sets us up for Kit Kat."

Stability? Wow... I'm underwhelmed then. My 701 has been acting flaky as hell ever since the update. Screen glitches (flickering on off and UI bizzareness), non-responsiveness of the touchscreen and buttons (including dock keyboard).
If I force reboot it, it will get a little back to normal, but then act up again shortly. No other changes have been made since the update, until just today with a bunch of Google app updates.

haha well you can`t blame them for trying lol
i`m interested to see if it makes a diff on my tab when i get it back from repair assuming they fix it this time.
I can't wait for Kit Kat 4.4.3. I'm feeling confident this was the tune up needed before they pull the trigger for the OS update. My device is running so buttery smooth right now.

I just got it today too, installing it right now. Any noticeable changes at the moment?
Hopefully this means 4.4 is coming soon
Just got the update. Looks ok. Nothing changed really imho
Mine just got the update! I wish it were to 4.4.3. Soon, let's hope!
Dunno if this is new with the update, but if you go in software info menu and tap build number a few times it'll enable the developer menu

That has been in all android ROMs for the last 2 years
This doesn't seem to be on the Asus website -- the latest version there is still from January (V10.26.1.18).
Does anyone know where we can download a flashable version for those of us who are unlocked?

So,
We had root for some days now.
So are you waiting for recovery? YES
are you waiting for JellyBean? YES
Do not hesitate to drop your o4x yet. I am quite confident, to have something of both somehow, probably ready within the next upcoming days.
I got a nice bootup with ro.secure=0 now and stability. problem is kernels but we just have to accept that for now.
Anyways just a teaser. i will try and get a video online for your pleasure when possible.
But of course, all thanks to the developer of the hack, which made all this possible.
(not sure mentioning his name all the time does him any good, his posts seems to be a little closed source or limited)

I dont see the need for a Gear 2. A software update could fix most if not all of the current gears downfalls. The hardware is spot on.

They have to do something better with the battery life as well as charging the thing. They couldn't put a port in the watch itself to charge it?

Saw this today but I thought it wasn't as feature rich as our gear so I didn't play around with it as much. And I just grabbed the brochure. After reading it when I got back to the hotel, it's actually a pretty Damn good alternative to the gear. And it's water resistant. When I played with it I saw it had an option to reply to text and a keyboard came up. But I was in a rush. I will probably go back tomorrow and take some pictures and video. Also check out the pricing.

IMO there won't be a 4.4.3. 4.4 came out and 4.4.1 & 4.4.2 were just bug fix versions really.
4.5 is the next version we will see, and then possibly 4.5.1+ if there needs to be a bug fix update.
When will 4.5 come out? Anyone's guess really. It's like asking when is the next time you are going to come down with a cold. No one knows!
Really, Why even bother with a post like this!!!

A new version of android from google usually appears when they release another flagship device, it looks to be that perhaps the Nexus 10 will debut the new version of android or perhaps Nexus 5 will go first
Wrong, they presented and released Jelly Bean 4.3 before the presentation of the Nexus 7 2013.
BTW, Android 4.5 will surely come out in June/July with the Google I|O.
About 4.4.3 (?), Nexus 7 2014, Nexus 8, Nexus 10... boh...

Custom recovery, no. You need stock recovery. Also, you need stock boot image to be safe since the update most probably will be a delta update.
What I'd really like to see is the ability to limit email notifications to only certain senders as opposed to entire email accounts. is that possible yet?

To do that, would probably require the notification be limited on the phone. Since all the watch does is reflect phone notifications. This would require an Android Phone OS update with that feature. I would like to have it too. For mail and SMS too.

I ****ing knew it
This is great news! I've always has awful battery life on lolipop and kitkat so hopefully marshmallow will improve things. As far as root goes, you should just be able to flash TWRP than systemless SuperSU or a modified boot image.
Wow! I'm so excited for this! The first thing I'm going to do is apply the work around for adoptive storage hehe

I am not sure in what way the Knox system prevents you from doing anything to your device. The Knox does not prevent you from rooting the device, installing TWRP, or from flashing roms. Samsung often calls Knox the "warranty bit", but that's a bull name that has no legal meaning.
I'm happy to hear that the marshmallow update is coming to this tablet. I have the 32gb version and I really like it. I had the nexus 7 2013 before this and tried some other tablets that have the marshmallow update like the Nvidia shield but I enjoy this tablet more. Coupled with a 128GB SD Card, I have a plethora of movies and books on it.
