[Q] RCK help - Asus Transformer TF701

Just bought new tf701. Upgraded to 4.3. I tried to boot into RCK but I a message flashes - installing software update - then I get the android with the red triangle saying "Error". Is this normal or should I be able to boot into RCK. Tried to reboot into RCK several times, but no luck.

Did you unlock? You won't be able to enter RCK until you do.

Re: RCK
No, I did not unlock the tablet. I just got it yesterday and want to check it out. Thanks for the info.

You can access your recovery without unlocking and you did.
What you saw is the stock recovery. The only thing it can do is flash a firmware update. Since it doesn't find one, you get the error. Normal behaviour.

No Boot Animation and Black Screen at Bootloader

Hey there, I received my HTC One today and am encountering an issue when trying to unlock the bootloader.
Once the phone has booted up it works perfectly fine, but before it has fully booted there is nothing actually shown on the screen.
While booting it is completely black, no boot animation at all.
I turn it on, and it stays black for a while, and when I press the power button again it is already booted up and shows the phone OS.
Even going into the bootloader gives a black screen. So I have no way to actually navigate it properly.
Using the All in one toolkit I was able to unlock the bootloader, even with a black screen, so I am fairly sure it is actually entering into the bootloader even though I cant see it. At least I believe it unlocked it. The toolkit indicated it was successful.
Anyone have any advice on how I can get the bootloader to actually show something other than black ?
I was able to unlock it and install the recovery manually using fastboot, even with the screen black.
Unlocking it reset the device to default, and the recovery install appeared to go over with no issues.. but I cant actually use the recovery due to the black screen.
Anyone have any idea at all what could cause this ?
I doubt this is it but check if fast boot is on. It's under power settings. If that dpesnt do it then u might have to ruu if not there's something wrong with ur device bro

Fastboot is not enabled.
I was going to attempt to ruu to fix the issue, but I already did an OTA update to 1.31 to try to fix the problem, and there is no RUU for that yet unfortunately.
As a side note, if I enable fast boot the animations actually appear when booting. But can't get into bootload with fastboot on.

[Q] Stuck in the fastboot (relocked)

Hello all,
I've got a HTC One from my boss. He has rooted it with Android Revolution HD. However he gave it to me because of the problem below. I'm trying to get to recovery mode but it always goes to this menu. The phone was working few days ago and he says backup file was made yesterday. Still after turning it on it goes to this mode. Choosing recovery it blinks only a while saying entering recovery mode but finishes with the same.
Any idea how to solve it? I suppose it shall be unblocked again?
thanks
popoko
Did you try running fastboot erase cache from a pc then going into recovery. You will have to have the drivers installed if u don't already

[Q] stuck on 'Erasing...', flashing doesn't help

Hi
I have an AT&T XT1058 with locked bootloader, on 4.4.4
I tried to rest it to factory, but it got stuck on 'Erasing...' (with the little droid) for more than an hour, so I reset it.
Since then it won't boot, only keep stuck on 'Erasing...'. I've tried reflashing it with ATT_XT1058_4.4.4-KXA21.12-L1.26_CFC_1FF both using RSD lite and manually using mfastboot, but no luck - the phone still boots to 'Erasing...' and sometimes after that to the recovery.
I didn't find anything in relevant threads. Does anyone have an idea?
Selecting 'Factory' in the bootloader seemed to fix it.
It is more comlicated than that
The phone does boot after selecting 'factory' in bootloader, but only once - turning the phone off and on again brings it back to its 'erasing...' state. Besides that the phone seems to not be able to charge the battery

Were you able to get this resolved? I have a xt1095 doing the same thing when I flash a stock recovery. Just shows the android guy and just stuck at erasing... When I flash TWRP it doesn't get stuck at the "erasing..." anymore but just boots straight into TWRP.
Sorry for the late response, I missed the notification on your message.
I wasn't able to fix it, returned it to motorola.

HELP! Phone stuck

Don't know what's going on.
Took the 5.1 OTA on Friday, phone was working fine, then this morning it crashed and wouldn't go past Moto boot screen.
Tried to get into recovery a few times unsuccessfully.
Finally managed to get to recovery, Green LED came on ... and selected 'wipe cache'
At bottom of screen saw about a dozen lines beginning with "E:/ cannout mount .." -- couldn't read, went by too fast.
Then it started flashing the 'dead android' every few seconds in a loop.
Any ideas?!
update ... after the flashing dead android, now the phone is off, dead, and will not power up at all!
Anyone? Any way to recover photos from this phone?
Or is it utterly gone?

Sounds very similar to what happened to me... (see XT1096 5.1 Image Needed) except mine still powers to the Moto logo and I can get to fastboot and recovery.

Pixel 4 XL won't boot anymore

Hello all,
I have been using my Pixel 4 XL for years, and all of a sudden it shut down, and now it keeps being stuck in a booting loop.
I get to Google's logo and the loading animation ... and then it turns black, and starts all over, in a loop.
I am able to access the bootloader and recovery mode.
I tried a complete wipe through recovery mode, didn't change anything.
I wanted to flash original images, but the bootloader is locked and I haven't found any way to unlock it without going through the phone settings (which doesn't boot anymore).
All fastboot flashing related commands fail stating my device is locked.
Would you have any suggestion ?
Anything I should try before considering my device is completely dead ?
Thanks in advance

Try sideloading an OTA image. You can do that with a locked bootloader.
Thanks Lughnasadh
I've tried multiple times, and the process fails randomly, at different percentages ...
The phone suddenly reboots and the laptop displays " adb: failed to read command: No error"
The weird thing is it doesn't reboot and can stay up for super long while on the bootloader.
With a locked bootloader the rescue OTA (full OTA image flashed via adb) is all you have. I would try a different data cable (A-to-C) first and then move to a different computer. Make sure the new PC is running the latest adb/fastboot binaries. This is why I unlock the bootloader on every Pixel in my family. Even though they will never root the phone, if the fit hits the shan you have many more options. BTW, I just traded in my son's P4XL and got $285 trade-in on a 6a. Net cost was less than $150. The deal just ended but will likely come back again. Same deal was offered earlier but included a pair of first-gen earbuds. Wish you luck on getting your old phone working. The P4XL is still my primary phone and is still working well.
