[Q] Questions regarding appropriate use of Raspberry Pi (Intetnet) - Raspberry Pi Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After buying a raspberry pi, some questions have risen...
I bought a...
Raspberry Pi (Model B, with Ethernet port)
Ethernet- To- USB Adapter
TP-Link TL-WN722N USB WiFi Adapter
(NOTE: I'm using the latest version of Raspian for my Pi)
So, my questions are...
Will an Ethernet -To -USB Adapter even work with the Ethernet Port on my Raspberry Pi?
If so, once I get the correct modules/ drivers installed for my WiFi adapter, would it fry my Raspberry Pi if I were to plug it in/ would it even work with the Ethernet- to- USB adapter?
Would I need to Get a USB hub and connect it so my USB WiFi adapter doesn't fry my Raspberry Pi's Ethernet port?
I would deeply appritiate any help with this, thank you for your time.
EDIT:
I'm sorry for misspelling "internet" on the thread's topic. Apparently auto-correct doesn't like me.

[REQ] USB to RJ-45 support

I have a micro USB to USB adapter which works great with stick mount and storage on stock root but also have a Plugable USB 2.0 to RJ-45 adapter which I would like to be able and use to connect directly to a router/ modem for internet connection. Being in IT, this would be a very handy tool for me to test connections and cables and diagnose some network issues without needing a computer. On that note, it would also be really awesome to know if it is possible to connect a modem to the Nexus 7 and use it as a wireless router if I need a temporary fix.
I have done some searching on the Plugable USB adapter and from the sound of it, it is possible to add the drivers to a kernel, they do support android 3.2+, including one of Toshiba's android tablets. When I tried to connect my Nexus 7 to my router, both lights lit up on the adapter showing that there was some kind of connection being made between the devices, beyond that I could not get internet with wireless disabled.
If anybody has the time to look into something like this, I would really appreciate it! Even the same capability for my GNexus would be awesome.

Thanks for reading!
The OG Transformer had a thread dedicated to adding driver support for various USB Ethernet adapters. The problem is that it doesn't work with the majority of apps because wired Ethernet is not built into the OS. Unless you're comfortable doing all of your network tests via command line, it's going to be a while before you can do anything useful with a wired connection on Android.
would anyone tell me if any of the 2 will work with HTC Desire HD android revolution 7.0?
Plugable USB 2.0 to 10/100 Fast Ethernet LAN Network RJ45 Adapter (ASIX AX88772 chipset)
or
Plugable USB 2.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN Network Adapter (ASIX AX88178 Chipset)
The 10/100 should work. Don't think Gigabit is compatible as far as I can tell.

thanks for your reply, how do you know this? you tried?
I saw someone get an USB-ethernet working in pictures and poosibly a video in another OTG thread, but I'd like to know if there was an app or special programming involved. About to go back to a dorm with 250 ppl using the wifi, and if I can plug my upcoming tablet or even my phone into the room's ethernet, it'd be huge. We do know it's supposed to be covered somehow in the OTG support of the device. -Ara

I'm using a rooted N7 with the stock kernel.
The Apple USB-to-Ethernet adapter works out of the box with an OTG cable, if you need a recommendation.
Cheers,
Kermee
P.S. It's a 10/100 adapter but using the new CIFS module for the stock kernel with the back-ported async support, I get on average 9.5MB/s transfers over SMB which is basically full 100Mbps.

So you just plug it in and it works? No set up or anything needed?

Ethernet Cable

I recently bought an USB OTG cable and a USB 2.0 to Fast Ethernet Adapter off of eBay. The OTG cable works fine with my mouse and keyboard, but the ethernet adapter does not work with the OTG cable. Does the P7 support ethernet via USB, or maybe is it the ethernet adapter's problem? If it is, then can anyone recommend an adapter that's guaranteed to to work?
Thanks!
I only found this thread for the Asus Transformer, but of course it's not guaranteed to work on the P7 too.
Maybe you can borrow from someone else to try?

[Q]using this phone as a dhcp server with usb to lan adapter

well, I was wondering, if it is possible to turn this phone in a dhcp server for a LAN using an usb to lan adapter.
I have bough a cheap adapter and it comes with a driver for android, so if someone knows how, or can point me to a manual or similar I would be grateful.
also just in case, I tried connect the adapter to the phone but it isn't detected. (expected result).
going to add the files listed in the folder of driver for android of the adapter is a CH9200 USB Ethernet Adapter driver
thanks for reading.
Just curious how it ended up with the usb lan adapter.
Any update on this ?

USB Ethernet Adapters working?

Does anyone know if there are any USB ethernet adapters that work with these units? I have a couple of Joying 3188 units. I would like to use ethernet if possible on them so I can connect them to a hotspot I have that has an ethernet hub.
I was just going to buy a couple of try them, but perhaps someone can save me the time?

Do a search on my nick and you will find a hub that works. Or go here: Gigabit USB 2.0 ethernet adapter works 100%. I've only tested the two rear USB ports. http://plugable.com/products/usb2-e1000

OP3 Supported Ethernet adapters?

I want to buy some USB to ethernet adapter to be able to connect my OnePlus3 to internet in places where there is no WiFi but there is an ethernet socket. But I heard that not every adapter works.
So my question is ,which are the supported USB to ethernet adapters for OnePlus3?
I tried my Ugreen USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet + USB combo that i use for my mibox 3.
The adapter worked. Obviously i had to enable otg storage on settings and also had to use a USB C to USB dongle to connect the Ethernet adapter.
Hope this helps.
